01-11:31 And Terah
took Abram his son, and Lot the son of
01-19:12 And the
men said unto
01-19:14 And Lot
went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which
married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD
will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
01-38:11 Then said
Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a
widow at thy father’s house, till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest
peradventure he die also, as his brethren did.
And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.
01-38:13 And it was
told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law
goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep.
01-38:16 And he
turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee;
(for he knew not that she was his
daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou
give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?
01-38:24 And it
came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar
thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and
also, behold, she is with child by
whoredom. And
01-38:25 When she was brought forth, she sent to her father
in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said,
Discern, I pray thee, whose are these,
the signet, and bracelets, and staff.
01-47:26 And Joseph
made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this
day, that Pharaoh should have the
fifth part; except the land of the
priests only, which became not
Pharaoh’s.
02-3:1 Now
Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law,
the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and
came to the
02-4:18 And
Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law,
and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be
yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
02-12:49 One
law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto
the stranger that sojourneth among you.
02-13:9 And
it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between
thine eyes, that the Lord’s law may be in thy
mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of
02-16:4 Then
said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and
the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove
them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
02-18:1 When
Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father in law,
heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out
of Egypt;
02-18:2 Then
Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took Zipporah,
Moses’ wife, after he had sent her back,
02-18:5 And
Jethro, Moses’ father in law, came with his sons
and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of
God:
02-18:6 And
he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am
come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.
02-18:7 And
Moses went out to meet his father in law, and
did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the
tent.
02-18:8 And
Moses told his father in law all that the LORD
had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, and all the travail that had come upon
them by the way, and how the LORD
delivered them.
02-18:12 And
Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took a burnt
offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of
02-18:14 And
when Moses’ father in law saw all that he did to
the people, he said, What is this
thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all
the people stand by thee from morning unto even?
02-18:15 And
Moses said unto his father in law, Because the
people come unto me to enquire of God:
02-18:17 And
Moses’ father in law said unto him, The thing
that thou doest is not good.
02-18:24 So
Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law,
and did all that he had said.
02-18:27 And
Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his
way into his own land.
02-24:12 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I
will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and
commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
03-6:9 Command
Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the
law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the
burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar
shall be burning in it.
03-6:14 And this is the law
of the meat offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before the LORD, before
the altar.
03-6:25 Speak
unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is
the law of the sin offering: In the place
where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the
LORD: it is most holy.
03-7:1 Likewise
this is the law
of the trespass offering: it is most
holy.
03-7:7 As the
sin offering is, so is the trespass offering: there is one law
for them: the priest that maketh atonement therewith shall have it.
03-7:11 And this is the law
of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer unto the LORD.
03-7:37 This is the law
of the burnt offering, of the meat offering, and of the sin offering, and of
the trespass offering, and of the consecrations, and of the sacrifice of the
peace offerings;
03-11:46 This is the law
of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the
waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
03-12:7 Who shall
offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be
cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is
the law for her that hath born a male or a
female.
03-13:59 This is the law
of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp,
or woof, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it
unclean.
03-14:2 This
shall be the law of the leper in the day of his
cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest:
03-14:32 This is the law
of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, whose hand is not able to get that which pertaineth to his cleansing.
03-14:54 This is the law
for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,
03-14:57 To teach
when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.
03-15:32 This is the law
of him that hath an issue, and of him whose
seed goeth from him, and is defiled therewith;
03-18:15 Thou shalt
not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law:
she is thy son’s wife; thou shalt not
uncover her nakedness.
03-20:12 And if a
man lie with his daughter in law, both of them
shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.
03-24:22 Ye shall
have one manner of law, as well for the
stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.
04-5:29 This is the law
of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to
another instead of her husband, and is defiled;
04-5:30 Or when
the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and
shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all
this law.
04-6:13 And this is the law
of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled: he shall be
brought unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:
04-6:21 This is the law
of the Nazarite who hath vowed, and of his
offering unto the LORD for his separation, beside that that his hand shall get: according to the vow which he vowed,
so he must do after the law of his separation.
04-10:29 And Moses
said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD
said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the
LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.
04-15:16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the
stranger that sojourneth with you.
04-15:29 Ye shall
have one law for him that sinneth through
ignorance, both for him that is born
among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.
04-19:2 This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto
the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein
is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
04-19:14 This is the law,
when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven
days.
04-31:21 And Eleazar
the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;
05-1:5 On this side
Jordan, in the
05-4:8 And what
nation is there so great, that hath
statutes and judgments so righteous
as all this law, which I set before you this day?
05-4:44 And this is the law
which Moses set before the children of Israel:
05-17:11 According
to the sentence of the law which they shall
teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou
shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.
05-17:18 And it
shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write
him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the
Levites:
05-17:19 And it
shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he
may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
05-27:3 And thou
shalt write upon them all the words of this law,
when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD
thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God
of thy fathers hath promised thee.
05-27:8 And thou
shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law
very plainly.
05-27:23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.
05-27:26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
05-28:58 If thou
wilt not observe to do all the words of this law
that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful
name, THE LORD THY GOD;
05-28:61 Also every
sickness, and every plague, which is not
written in the book of this law, them will the LORD
bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
05-29:21 And the
LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to
all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
05-29:29 The secret
things belong unto the LORD our God:
but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for
ever, that we may do all the words of
this law.
05-30:10 If thou
shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and
his statutes which are written in this book of the law,
and if thou turn unto the LORD thy
God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
05-31:9 And Moses
wrote this law, and delivered it unto the
priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and
unto all the elders of Israel.
05-31:11 When all
Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall
choose, thou shalt read this law before all
Israel in their hearing.
05-31:12 Gather the
people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear,
and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the
words of this law:
05-31:24 And it
came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
05-31:26 Take this
book of the law, and put it in the side of the
ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness
against thee.
05-32:46 And he
said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you
this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words
of this law.
05-33:2 And he
said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined
forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his
right hand went a fiery law for them.
05-33:4 Moses
commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.
05-33:10 They shall
teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law:
they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.
06-1:7 Only be thou
strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the
law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn
not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper
whithersoever thou goest.
06-1:8 This
book of the law shall not depart out of thy
mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe
to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
06-8:31 As Moses
the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in
the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole
stones, over which no man hath lift up any
iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and
sacrificed peace offerings.
06-8:32 And he
wrote there upon the stones a copy of the law of
Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel.
06-8:34 And
afterward he read all the words of the law, the
blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law.
06-22:5 But take
diligent heed to do the commandment and the law,
which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and
to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him,
and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
06-23:6 Be ye
therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of
the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside
therefrom to the right hand or to the left;
06-24:26 And Joshua
wrote these words in the book of the law of God,
and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.
07-1:16 And the
children of the Kenite, Moses’ father in law,
went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the
wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the
south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
07-4:11 Now Heber
the Kenite, which was of the children
of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed
himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which
is by Kedesh.
07-15:6 Then the
Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and
given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her
father with fire.
07-19:4 And his
father in law, the damsel’s father, retained
him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.
07-19:5 And it
came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he
rose up to depart: and the damsel’s father said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward
go your way.
07-19:7 And when
the man rose up to depart, his father in law
urged him: therefore he lodged there again.
07-19:9 And when the
man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel’s father, said unto him, Behold, now
the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day
groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get
you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
08-1:6 Then she
arose with her daughters in law, that she might
return from the country of
08-1:7 Wherefore
she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto
the land of Judah.
08-1:8 And
Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go,
return each to her mother’s house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have
dealt with the dead, and with me.
08-1:14 And they
lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
08-1:15 And she
said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back
unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.
08-1:22 So Naomi
returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law,
with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem
in the beginning of barley harvest.
08-2:11 And Boaz
answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast
done unto thy mother in law since the death of
thine husband: and how thou hast left
thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a
people which thou knewest not heretofore.
08-2:18 And she
took it up, and went into the city:
and her mother in law saw what she had gleaned:
and she brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was
sufficed.
08-2:19 And her
mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou gleaned
to day? and where wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of
thee. And she shewed her mother in law with whom
she had wrought, and said, The man’s name with whom I wrought to day is Boaz.
08-2:20 And Naomi
said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who hath not left off
his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next
kinsmen.
08-2:22 And Naomi
said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go
out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.
08-2:23 So she
kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of
wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.
08-3:1 Then
Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My
daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
08-3:6 And she
went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.
08-3:16 And when
she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her
all that the man had done to her.
08-3:17 And she
said, These six measures of barley
gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.
08-4:15 And he
shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life,
and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law,
which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath borne him.
09-4:19 And his
daughter in law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child,
near to be delivered: and when she
heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and
travailed; for her pains came upon her.
09-4:21 And she
named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the
ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law
and her husband.
09-18:18 And David
said unto Saul, Who am I? and what is my life, or my father’s family in Israel, that I should be son in law to the king?
09-18:21 And Saul
said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of
the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt
this day be my son in law in the one of the twain.
09-18:22 And Saul
commanded his servants, saying, Commune
with David secretly, and say, Behold, the king hath delight in thee, and all
his servants love thee: now therefore be the king’s son in law.
09-18:23 And Saul’s
servants spake those words in the ears of David. And David said, Seemeth it to
you a light thing to be a king’s son in law,
seeing that I am a poor man, and
lightly esteemed?
09-18:26 And when
his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king’s son
in law: and the days were not expired.
09-18:27 Wherefore
David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred
men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the
king, that he might be the king’s son in law.
And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.
09-22:14 Then
Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king’s
son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is
honourable in thine house?
11-2:3 And keep
the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and
his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in
the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in
all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
12-8:27 And he
walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the LORD,
as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law
of the house of Ahab.
12-10:31 But Jehu
took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God
of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which
made Israel to sin.
12-14:6 But the
children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in
the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded,
saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the
children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death
for his own sin.
12-17:13 Yet the
LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye
from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law
which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
12-17:34 Unto this
day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they
after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the
children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
12-17:37 And the
statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and
the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore;
and ye shall not fear other gods.
12-21:8 Neither
will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their
fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded
them, and according to all the law that my
servant Moses commanded them.
12-22:8 And
Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of
the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah
gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
12-22:11 And it
came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.
12-23:24 Moreover
the workers with familiar spirits, and
the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were
spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might
perform the words of the law which were written
in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.
12-23:25 And like
unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his
heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.
13-2:4 And
Tamar his daughter in law bare him Pharez and
Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.
13-16:17 And
hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
13-16:40 To
offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering
continually morning and evening, and to
do according to all that is written in the law
of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;
13-22:12 Only
the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning
Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the
LORD thy God.
14-6:16 Now
therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that
which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my
sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to
their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked
before me.
14-12:1 And
it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had
strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the
LORD, and all Israel with him.
14-14:4 And
commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.
14-15:3 Now
for a long season Israel hath been without
the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
14-17:9 And
they taught in Judah, and had the
book of the law of the LORD with them, and went
about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.
14-19:10 And
what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their
cities, between blood and blood, between law and
commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass
not against the LORD, and so wrath
come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
14-23:18 Also
Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the LORD by the hand of the priests
the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the LORD, to offer the
burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written
in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with
singing, as it was ordained by David.
14-25:4 But
he slew not their children, but did as
it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded,
saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children
die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.
14-30:16 And
they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the
blood, which they received of the
hand of the Levites.
14-31:3 He appointed also the king’s portion of
his substance for the burnt offerings, to
wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings
for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the LORD.
14-31:4 Moreover
he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the
priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the LORD.
14-31:21 And
in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
14-33:8 Neither
will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have
appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have
commanded them, according to the whole law and
the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
14-34:14 And
when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD,
Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of
the LORD given by Moses.
14-34:15 And
Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah delivered
the book to Shaphan.
14-34:19 And
it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes.
14-35:26 Now
the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,
15-3:2 Then
stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the
God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses
the man of God.
15-7:6 This
Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a
ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD
God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to
the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
15-7:10 For Ezra
had prepared his heart to seek the law of the
LORD, and to do it, and to teach in
Israel statutes and judgments.
15-7:12 Artaxerxes,
king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law
of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and
at such a time.
15-7:14 Forasmuch
as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire
concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law
of thy God which is in thine hand;
15-7:21 And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a
decree to all the treasurers which are beyond
the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be
done speedily,
15-7:26 And whosoever
will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily
upon him, whether it be unto death,
or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
15-10:3 Now therefore
let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are
born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at
the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
16-6:18 For there were many in
16-8:1 And all
the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they
spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law
of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel.
16-8:2 And Ezra
the priest brought the law before the
congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding,
upon the first day of the seventh month.
16-8:3 And he
read therein before the street that was before
the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and
those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.
16-8:7 Also
Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah,
Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to
understand the law: and the people stood in their place.
16-8:8 So they
read in the book in the law of God distinctly,
and gave the sense, and caused them to
understand the reading.
16-8:9 And
Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and
Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto
all the people, This day is holy unto
the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they
heard the words of the law.
16-8:13 And on
the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the
people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to understand
the words of the law.
16-8:14 And they
found written in the law which the LORD had
commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the
feast of the seventh month:
16-8:18 Also day
by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on
the eighth day was a solemn assembly,
according unto the manner.
16-9:3 And they
stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law
of the LORD their God one fourth part
of the day; and another fourth part
they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God.
16-9:26 Nevertheless
they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which
testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great
provocations.
16-9:29 And
testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto
thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he
shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and
would not hear.
16-9:34 Neither
have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy
testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them.
16-10:28 And the
rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the
Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands
unto the law of God, their wives, their sons,
and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding;
16-10:29 They clave
to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to
walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the
servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our
Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;
16-10:34 And we
cast the lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the wood
offering, to bring it into the house
of our God, after the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year,
to burn upon the altar of the LORD our God, as it is written in the law:
16-10:36 Also the
firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, and the
firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God,
unto the priests that minister in the house of our God:
16-12:44 And at
that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the
offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of
the fields of the cities the portions of the law
for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the
Levites that waited.
16-13:3 Now it
came to pass, when they had heard the law, that
they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.
16-13:28 And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of
Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him
from me.
17-1:8 And the
drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to
all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man’s
pleasure.
17-1:13 Then the
king said to the wise men, which knew the times, (for so was the king’s manner toward all that knew law
and judgment:
17-1:15 What
shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to law,
because she hath not performed the commandment of the king Ahasuerus by the
chamberlains?
17-4:11 All the
king’s servants, and the people of the king’s provinces, do know, that
whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court,
who is not called, there is one law of his to put him
to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre,
that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these
thirty days.
17-4:16 Go,
gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me,
and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will
fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if
I perish, I perish.
18-22:22 Receive, I
pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up
his words in thine heart.
19-1:2 But his
delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law
doth he meditate day and night.
19-19:7 The law of the LORD is
perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
19-37:31 The law of his God is
in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
19-40:8 I delight
to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
19-78:1 Give ear,
O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
19-78:5 For he
established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law
in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to
their children:
19-78:10 They kept
not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
19-81:4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law
of the God of Jacob.
19-89:30 If his
children forsake my law, and walk not in my
judgments;
19-94:12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD,
and teachest him out of thy law;
19-94:20 Shall the
throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
19-105:10 And
confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
19-119:1 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
19-119:18 Open thou
mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
19-119:29 Remove from
me the way of lying: and grant me thy law
graciously.
19-119:34 Give me
understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I
shall observe it with my whole heart.
19-119:44 So shall I
keep thy law continually for ever and ever.
19-119:51 The proud
have had me greatly in derision: yet have
I not declined from thy law.
19-119:53 Horror hath
taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
19-119:55 I have
remembered thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept thy law.
19-119:61 The bands
of the wicked have robbed me: but I
have not forgotten thy law.
19-119:70 Their heart
is as fat as grease; but I delight in
thy law.
19-119:72 The law of thy mouth is
better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
19-119:77 Let thy
tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law
is my delight.
19-119:85 The proud
have digged pits for me, which are not
after thy law.
19-119:92 Unless thy law had been my
delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.
19-119:97 MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my
meditation all the day.
19-119:109 My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not
forget thy law.
19-119:113 SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I
love.
19-119:126 It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they
have made void thy law.
19-119:136 Rivers of
waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.
19-119:142 Thy
righteousness is an everlasting
righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
19-119:150 They draw
nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law.
19-119:153 RESH. Consider mine affliction, and
deliver me: for I do not forget thy law.
19-119:163 I hate and
abhor lying: but thy law do I love.
19-119:165 Great
peace have they which love thy law: and nothing
shall offend them.
19-119:174 I have
longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight.
20-1:8 My son,
hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
20-3:1 My son,
forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my
commandments:
20-4:2 For I
give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
20-6:20 My son,
keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law
of thy mother:
20-6:23 For the
commandment is a lamp; and the law is light;
and reproofs of instruction are the
way of life:
20-7:2 Keep my
commandments, and live; and my law as the apple
of thine eye.
20-13:14 The law of the wise is
a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
20-28:4 They that
forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as
keep the law contend with them.
20-28:7 Whoso
keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
20-28:9 He that
turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even
his prayer shall be abomination.
20-29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish:
but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
20-31:5 Lest they
drink, and forget the law, and pervert the
judgment of any of the afflicted.
20-31:26 She
openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
23-1:10 Hear the
word of the LORD, ye rulers of
23-2:3 And many
people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will
walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law,
and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
23-5:24 Therefore
as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and
their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the
Holy One of Israel.
23-8:16 Bind up
the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
23-8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according
to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
23-30:9 That this
is a rebellious people, lying children,
children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
23-42:4 He shall
not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the
isles shall wait for his law.
23-42:21 The LORD
is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it
honourable.
23-42:24 Who gave
Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom
we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient
unto his law.
23-51:4 Hearken
unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment
to rest for a light of the people.
23-51:7 Hearken
unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law;
fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
24-2:8 The
priests said not, Where is the LORD?
and they that handle the law knew me not: the
pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and
walked after things that do not
profit.
24-6:19 Hear, O
earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened
unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
24-8:8 How do
ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is
with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it;
the pen of the scribes is in vain.
24-9:13 And the
LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law
which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
24-16:11 Then shalt
thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and
have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them,
and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
24-18:18 Then said
they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from
the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the
tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.
24-26:4 And thou
shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk
in my law, which I have set before you,
24-31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their
hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
24-32:11 So I took
the evidence of the purchase, both that
which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:
24-32:23 And they
came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy
law; they have done nothing of all that thou
commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon
them:
24-44:10 They are
not humbled even unto this day, neither
have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in
my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.
24-44:23 Because ye
have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not
obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law,
nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened
unto you, as at this day.
25-2:9 Her
gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king
and her princes are among the
Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets
also find no vision from the LORD.
26-7:26 Mischief
shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek
a vision of the prophet; but the law shall
perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.
26-22:11 And one
hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly
defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee
hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.
26-22:26 Her
priests have violated my law, and have profaned
mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane,
neither have they shewed difference between
the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am
profaned among them.
26-43:12 This is the law
of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law
of the house.
27-6:5 Then
said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we
find it against him concerning the law of his God.
27-6:8 Now, O
king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed,
according to the law of the Medes and Persians,
which altereth not.
27-6:12 Then they
came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou
not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O
king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The
thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
27-6:15 Then
these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that
the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the
king establisheth may be changed.
27-9:11 Yea, all
Israel have transgressed thy law, even by
departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon
us, and the oath that is written in
the law of Moses the servant of God, because we
have sinned against him.
27-9:13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made
we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our
iniquities, and understand thy truth.
28-4:6 My
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected
knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing
thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will
also forget thy children.
28-8:1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the
house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed
against my law.
28-8:12 I have
written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange
thing.
30-2:4 Thus
saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof;
because they have despised the law of the LORD,
and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after
the which their fathers have walked:
33-4:2 And many
nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the
LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways,
and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall
go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
33-7:6 For the
son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the
daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
35-1:4 Therefore
the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go
forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong
judgment proceedeth.
36-3:4 Her
prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests
have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
37-2:11 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,
38-7:12 Yea, they
made their hearts as an adamant
stone, lest they should hear the law, and the
words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets:
therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
39-2:6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not
found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many
away from iniquity.
39-2:7 For the
priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
39-2:8 But ye
are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the
LORD of hosts.
39-2:9 Therefore
have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as
ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.
39-4:4 Remember
ye the law of Moses my servant, which I
commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with
the statutes and judgments.
40-5:17 Think not
that I am come to destroy the law, or the
prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
40-5:18 For
verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall
in no wise pass from the law, till all be
fulfilled.
40-5:40 And if
any man will sue thee at the law, and take away
thy coat, let him have thy cloke
also.
40-7:12 Therefore
all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to
them: for this is the law and the prophets.
40-10:35 For I am
come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her
mother, and the daughter in law against her
mother in law.
40-11:13 For all
the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
40-12:5 Or have
ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath
days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
40-22:36 Master,
which is the great commandment in the
law?
40-22:40 On these
two commandments hang all the law and the
prophets.
40-23:23 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and
cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters
of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith:
these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
42-2:22 And when
the days of her purification according to the law
of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to
42-2:23 (As it is
written in the law of the Lord, Every male that
openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)
42-2:24 And to
offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young
pigeons.
42-2:27 And he
came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child
Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
42-2:39 And when
they had performed all things according to the law
of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
42-5:17 And it
came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees
and doctors of the law sitting by, which were
come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of
the Lord was present to heal them.
42-10:26 He said
unto him, What is written in the law? how
readest thou?
42-12:53 The father
shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother
against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law,
and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
42-16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached,
and every man presseth into it.
42-16:17 And it is
easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
42-24:44 And he
said unto them, These are the words
which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be
fulfilled, which were written in the law of
Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
43-1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
43-1:45 Philip
findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth,
the son of Joseph.
43-7:19 Did not
Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why
go ye about to kill me?
43-7:23 If a man
on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law
of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man
every whit whole on the sabbath day?
43-7:49 But this
people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
43-7:51 Doth our law judge any man,
before it hear him, and know what he doeth?
43-8:5 Now
Moses in the law commanded us, that such should
be stoned: but what sayest thou?
43-8:17 It is
also written in your law, that the testimony of
two men is true.
43-10:34 Jesus
answered them, Is it not written in your law, I
said, Ye are gods?
43-12:34 The people
answered him, We have heard out of the law that
Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up?
who is this Son of man?
43-15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might
be fulfilled that is written in their law, They
hated me without a cause.
43-18:13 And led
him away to Annas first; for he was father in law
to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
43-18:31 Then said
Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not
lawful for us to put any man to death:
43-19:7 The Jews
answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son
of God.
44-5:34 Then
stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and
commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
44-6:13 And set
up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words
against this holy place, and the law:
44-7:53 Who have
received the law by the disposition of angels,
and have not kept it.
44-13:15 And after
the reading of the law and the prophets the
rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if
ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
44-13:39 And by him
all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be
justified by the law of Moses.
44-15:5 But there
rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it
was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
44-15:24 Forasmuch
as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with
words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye
must be circumcised, and keep the law: to
whom we gave no such commandment:
44-18:13 Saying,
This fellow persuadeth men to worship
God contrary to the law.
44-18:15 But if it
be a question of words and names, and of your
law, look ye to
it; for I will be no judge of such matters.
44-19:38 Wherefore
if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any
man, the law is open, and there are deputies:
let them implead one another.
44-21:20 And when
they heard it, they glorified the
Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there
are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
44-21:24 Them take,
and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those
things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly,
and keepest the law.
44-21:28 Crying
out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and
the law, and this place: and further brought
Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
44-22:3 I am
verily a man which am a Jew, born in
Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet
brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye
all are this day.
44-22:12 And one
Ananias, a devout man according to the law,
having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
44-23:3 Then said
Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou
whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
44-23:29 Whom I
perceived to be accused of questions of their law,
but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.
44-24:6 Who also
hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged
according to our law.
44-24:14 But this I
confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the
God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
44-25:8 While he
answered for himself, Neither against the law of
the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended
any thing at all.
44-28:23 And when they
had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God,
persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law
of Moses, and out of the prophets,
from morning till evening.
45-2:12 For as
many as have sinned without law shall also
perish without law: and as many as have sinned
in the law shall be judged by the law;
45-2:13 (For not
the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law
shall be justified.
45-2:14 For when
the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by
nature the things contained in the law, these,
having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
45-2:15 Which
shew the work of the law written in their
hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one
another;)
45-2:17 Behold,
thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law,
and makest thy boast of God,
45-2:18 And
knowest his will, and approvest the
things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
45-2:20 An
instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge
and of the truth in the law.
45-2:23 Thou that
makest thy boast of the law, through breaking
the law dishonourest thou God?
45-2:25 For
circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law:
but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy
circumcision is made uncircumcision.
45-2:26 Therefore
if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law,
shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
45-2:27 And shall
not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress
the law?
45-3:19 Now we
know that what things soever the law saith, it saith
to them who are under the law: that every mouth
may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
45-3:20 Therefore
by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified
in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
45-3:21 But now
the righteousness of God without the law is
manifested, being witnessed by the law and the
prophets;
45-3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By
what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
45-3:28 Therefore
we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
45-3:31 Do we
then make void the law through faith? God
forbid: yea, we establish the law.
45-4:13 For the
promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
45-4:14 For if
they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
45-4:15 Because
the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is
no transgression.
45-4:16 Therefore
it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the
promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of
Abraham; who is the father of us all,
45-5:13 (For
until the law sin was in the world: but sin is
not imputed when there is no law.
45-5:20 Moreover
the law entered, that the offence might abound.
But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
45-6:14 For sin shall
not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law,
but under grace.
45-6:15 What
then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law,
but under grace? God forbid.
45-7:1 Know ye
not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,)
how that the law hath dominion over a man as
long as he liveth?
45-7:2 For the
woman which hath an husband is bound by the law
to her husband so long as he liveth;
but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law
of her husband.
45-7:3 So then
if, while her husband liveth, she be married
to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead,
she is free from that law; so that she is no
adulteress, though she be married to another man.
45-7:4 Wherefore,
my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law
by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead,
that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
45-7:5 For when
we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto
death.
45-7:6 But now
we are delivered from the law, that being dead
wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
45-7:7 What
shall we say then? is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by
the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
45-7:8 But sin,
taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence.
For without the law sin was dead.
45-7:9 For I
was alive without the law once: but when the
commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
45-7:12 Wherefore
the law is
holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
45-7:14 For we
know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal,
sold under sin.
45-7:16 If then I
do that which I would not, I consent unto the law
that it is good.
45-7:21 I find
then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is
present with me.
45-7:22 For I
delight in the law of God after the inward man:
45-7:23 But I see
another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
45-7:25 I thank
God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
45-8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me
free from the law of sin and death.
45-8:3 For what
the law could not do, in that it was weak
through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and
for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
45-8:4 That the
righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in
us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
45-8:7 Because
the carnal mind is enmity against
God: for it is not subject to the law of God,
neither indeed can be.
45-9:4 Who are
Israelites; to whom pertaineth the
adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
45-9:31 But
Israel, which followed after the law of
righteousness, hath not attained to the law of
righteousness.
45-9:32 Wherefore?
Because they sought it not by faith,
but as it were by the works of the law. For they
stumbled at that stumblingstone;
45-10:4 For
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
45-10:5 For Moses
describeth the righteousness which is of the law,
That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
45-13:8 Owe no
man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath
fulfilled the law.
45-13:10 Love
worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
46-6:1 Dare
any of you, having a matter against another, go to law
before the unjust, and not before the saints?
46-6:6 But
brother goeth to law with brother, and that
before the unbelievers.
46-6:7 Now
therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong?
why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to
be defrauded?
46-7:39 The
wife is bound by the law as long as her husband
liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she
will; only in the Lord.
46-9:8 Say
I these things as a man? or saith not the law
the same also?
46-9:9 For
it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt
not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care
for oxen?
46-9:20 And
unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are
under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
46-9:21 To
them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law
to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I
might gain them that are without law.
46-14:21 In
the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people;
and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
46-14:34 Let
your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to
speak; but they are commanded to be
under obedience, as also saith the law.
46-15:56 The
sting of death is sin; and the
strength of sin is the law.
48-2:16 Knowing
that a man is not justified by the works of the law,
but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that
we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law
shall no flesh be justified.
48-2:19 For I
through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
48-2:21 I do not
frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead
in vain.
48-3:2 This only
would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
48-3:5 He
therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
48-3:10 For as
many as are of the works of the law are under
the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every
one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
48-3:11 But that
no man is justified by the law in the sight of
God, it is evident: for, The just
shall live by faith.
48-3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them
shall live in them.
48-3:13 Christ
hath redeemed us from the curse of the law,
being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
48-3:17 And this
I say, that the covenant, that was
confirmed before of God in Christ, the law,
which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should
make the promise of none effect.
48-3:18 For if
the inheritance be of the law, it is no
more of promise: but God gave it to
Abraham by promise.
48-3:19 Wherefore
then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the
seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
48-3:21 Is the law
then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily
righteousness should have been by the law.
48-3:23 But
before faith came, we were kept under the law,
shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
48-3:24 Wherefore
the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might
be justified by faith.
48-4:4 But when
the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made
under the law,
48-4:5 To
redeem them that were under the law, that we
might receive the adoption of sons.
48-4:21 Tell me,
ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not
hear the law?
48-5:3 For I
testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the
whole law.
48-5:4 Christ
is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
48-5:14 For all
the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
48-5:18 But if ye
be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
48-5:23 Meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law.
48-6:2 Bear ye
one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of
Christ.
48-6:13 For
neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law;
but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
49-2:15 Having
abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the
law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new
man, so making peace;
50-3:5 Circumcised
the eighth day, of the stock of
50-3:6 Concerning
zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
50-3:9 And be
found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ,
the righteousness which is of God by faith:
54-1:7 Desiring
to be teachers of the law; understanding neither
what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
54-1:8 But we
know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
54-1:9 Knowing
this, that the law is not made for a righteous
man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for
unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for
manslayers,
56-3:9 But
avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about
the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
58-7:5 And
verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the
priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out
of the loins of Abraham:
58-7:11 If
therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people
received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should
rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of
Aaron?
58-7:12 For the
priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
58-7:16 Who is
made, not after the law of a carnal commandment,
but after the power of an endless life.
58-7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a
better hope did; by the which we draw
nigh unto God.
58-7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but
the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for
evermore.
58-8:4 For if
he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that
offer gifts according to the law:
58-9:19 For when
Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with
water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the
people,
58-9:22 And
almost all things are by the law purged with
blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
58-10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things,
can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually
make the comers thereunto perfect.
58-10:8 Above
when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not,
neither hadst pleasure therein; which
are offered by the law;
58-10:28 He that
despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two
or three witnesses:
59-1:25 But whoso
looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and
continueth therein, he being not a
forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his
deed.
59-2:8 If ye
fulfil the royal law according to the scripture,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
59-2:9 But if
ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
59-2:10 For
whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet
offend in one point, he is guilty of
all.
59-2:11 For he
that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit
no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
59-2:12 So speak
ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law
of liberty.
59-4:11 Speak not
evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law:
but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer
of the law, but a judge.
62-3:4 Whosoever
committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for
sin is the transgression of the law.
