01-GENESIS
01-4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his
brother: and it came to pass, when
they were in the field, that Cain rose up against
Abel his brother, and slew him.
01-14:15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote
them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is
on the left hand of Damascus.
01-15:10 And he took unto him all these, and
divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against
another: but the birds divided he
not.
01-16:12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against
every man, and every man’s hand against him; and
he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
01-20:6 And God said unto him in a dream,
Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also
withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to
touch her.
01-21:16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a
good way off, as it were a bowshot:
for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and
lift up her voice, and wept.
01-30:2 And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel:
and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who
hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
01-32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not
against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh;
and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
01-34:30 And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye
have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among
the Canaanites and the Perizzites:
and I being few in number, they shall
gather themselves together against me, and slay
me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.
01-37:18 And when they saw him afar off, even
before he came near unto them, they conspired against
him to slay him.
01-39:9 There
is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing
from me but thee, because thou art his
wife: how then can I do this great
wickedness, and sin against God?
01-40:2 And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his
officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
01-41:36 And that food shall be for store to
the land against the seven years of famine,
which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the
famine.
01-42:22 And Reuben answered them, saying,
Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against
the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is
required.
01-42:36 And Jacob their father said unto
them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not,
and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.
01-43:18 And the men were afraid, because they
were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, Because of the money that was
returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek
occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take
us for bondmen, and our asses.
01-43:25 And they made ready the present against Joseph came at noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.
01-44:18 Then Judah came near unto him, and
said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord’s ears,
and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh.
01-50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God
meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it
is this day, to save much people alive.
02-1:10 Come on, let us deal wisely with
them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any
war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against
us, and so get them up out of the
land.
02-4:14 And the anger of the LORD was
kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I
know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be
glad in his heart.
02-7:15 Get thee unto Pharaoh in the
morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river’s
brink against he come; and the rod which was
turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.
02-8:12 And Moses and Aaron went out from
Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the
LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against
Pharaoh.
02-9:17 As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?
02-10:16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and
Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against
the LORD your God, and against you.
02-11:7 But against
any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between
the Egyptians and Israel.
02-12:12 For I will pass through the land of
Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both
man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt
I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
02-14:2 Speak unto the children of Israel,
that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon:
before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
02-14:5 And it was told the king of Egypt
that the people fled: and the heart
of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against
the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go
from serving us?
02-14:25 And took off their chariot wheels,
that they drave them heavily: so
that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD
fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
02-14:27 And Moses stretched forth his hand
over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared;
and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD
overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
02-15:7 And in the greatness of thine
excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against
thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
02-15:24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
02-16:2 And the whole congregation of the
children of Israel murmured against Moses and
Aaron in the wilderness:
02-16:7 And in the morning, then ye shall
see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD:
and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
02-16:8 And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to
eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your
murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not
against us, but against
the LORD.
02-17:3 And the people thirsted there for
water; and the people murmured against Moses,
and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of
Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
02-19:11 And be ready against
the third day: for the third day the
LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
02-19:15 And he said unto the people, Be ready
against the third day: come not at your wives.
02-20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
02-23:29 I will not drive them out from before
thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field
multiply against thee.
02-23:33 They shall not dwell in thy land,
lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will
surely be a snare unto thee.
02-25:27 Over against
the border shall the rings be for places of the staves to bear the table.
02-25:37 And thou shalt make the seven lamps
thereof: and they shall light the
lamps thereof, that they may give light over against
it.
02-26:17 Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another:
thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
02-26:35 And thou shalt set the table without
the vail, and the candlestick over against the
table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.
02-28:27 And two other rings of gold thou shalt make, and shalt put them on the two
sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart thereof, over against the other
coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.
02-32:10 Now therefore let me alone, that my
wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may
consume them: and I will make of
thee a great nation.
02-32:11 And Moses besought the LORD his God,
and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against
thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great
power, and with a mighty hand?
02-32:12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak,
and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and
to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and
repent of this evil against thy people.
02-32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses,
Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I
blot out of my book.
02-37:14 Over against
the border were the rings, the places for the staves to bear the table.
02-39:20 And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the
two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other
coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.
02-40:24 And he put the candlestick in the
tent of the congregation, over against the
table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.
03-4:2 Speak
unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be
done, and shall do against any of them:
03-4:13 And
if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid
from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the
commandments of the LORD concerning
things which should not be done, and are guilty;
03-4:14 When
the sin, which they have sinned against it, is
known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring
him before the tabernacle of the congregation.
03-4:22 When
a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through
ignorance against
any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;
03-4:27 And
if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against
any of the commandments of the LORD concerning
things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;
03-5:19 It
is a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed against the LORD.
03-6:2 If
a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the
LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in
fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;
03-17:10 And
whatsoever man there be of the house
of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner
of blood; I will even set my face against that
soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
03-19:16 Thou
shalt not go up and down as a
talebearer among thy people: neither
shalt thou stand against the blood of thy
neighbour: I am the LORD.
03-19:18 Thou
shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against
the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am
the LORD.
03-20:3 And
I will set my face against that man, and will
cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto
Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
03-20:5 Then
I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that
go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their
people.
03-20:6 And
the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards,
to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against
that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
03-26:17 And
I will set my face against you, and ye shall be
slain before your enemies: they that
hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
03-26:40 If
they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with
their trespass which they trespassed against me,
and that also they have walked contrary unto me;
04-5:6 Speak unto the children of Israel,
When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty;
04-5:7 Then they shall confess their sin
which they have done: and he shall
recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
04-5:12 Speak unto the children of Israel,
and say unto them, If any man’s wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,
04-5:13 And a man lie with her carnally, and
it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled,
and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner;
04-5:27 And when he hath made her to drink
the water, then it shall come to pass, that,
if she be defiled, and have done trespass against
her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall
swell, and her thigh shall rot: and
the woman shall be a curse among her people.
04-8:2 Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him,
When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
04-8:3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the
lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as
the LORD commanded Moses.
04-10:9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall
blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD
your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
04-10:21 And the Kohathites set forward,
bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.
04-11:18 And say thou unto the people,
Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye
shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in
the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you
flesh, and ye shall eat.
04-11:33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed,
the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the
people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.
04-12:1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had
married: for he had married an
Ethiopian woman.
04-12:8 With him will I speak mouth to
mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the
LORD shall he behold: wherefore then
were ye not afraid to speak against my servant
Moses?
04-12:9 And the anger of the LORD was
kindled against them; and he departed.
04-13:31 But the men that went up with him
said, We be not able to go up against the
people; for they are stronger than
we.
04-14:2 And all the children of Israel
murmured against Moses and against Aaron:
and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the
land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
04-14:9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the
land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them,
and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
04-14:27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the
children of Israel, which they murmur against
me.
04-14:29 Your carcases shall fall in this
wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number,
from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against
me,
04-14:35 I the LORD have said, I will surely
do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me:
in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
04-14:36 And the men, which Moses sent to
search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,
04-16:3 And they gathered themselves together
against Moses and against
Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too
much upon you, seeing all the congregation are
holy, every one of them, and the LORD is
among them: wherefore then lift
ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
04-16:11 For which cause both thou and all thy company are
gathered together against the LORD: and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against
him?
04-16:19 And Korah gathered all the congregation
against them unto the door of the tabernacle of
the congregation: and the glory of
the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.
04-16:38 The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad
plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the
LORD, therefore they are hallowed:
and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
04-16:41 But on the morrow all the
congregation of the children of Israel murmured against
Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed
the people of the LORD.
04-16:42 And it came to pass, when the
congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle
of the congregation: and, behold,
the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
04-17:5 And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose,
shall blossom: and I will make to
cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.
04-17:10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring
Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away
their murmurings from me, that they die not.
04-20:2 And there was no water for the
congregation: and they gathered
themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
04-20:18 And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt
not pass by me, lest I come out against thee
with the sword.
04-20:20 And he said, Thou shalt not go
through. And Edom came out against him with much
people, and with a strong hand.
04-20:24 Aaron shall be gathered unto his
people: for he shall not enter into
the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.
04-21:1 And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell
that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.
04-21:5 And the people spake against God, and against
Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness?
for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul
loatheth this light bread.
04-21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses,
and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against
the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD,
that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
04-21:23 And Sihon would not suffer Israel to
pass through his border: but Sihon
gathered all his people together, and went out against
Israel into the wilderness: and he
came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
04-21:26 For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his
land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.
04-21:33 And they turned and went up by the
way of Bashan: and Og the king of
Bashan went out against them, he, and all his
people, to the battle at Edrei.
04-22:5 He sent messengers therefore unto
Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is
by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him,
saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:
04-22:22 And God’s anger was kindled because
he went: and the angel of the LORD
stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now
he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.
04-22:25 And when the ass saw the angel of the
LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall:
and he smote her again.
04-22:34 And Balaam said unto the angel of the
LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me:
now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again.
04-23:23 Surely there is no enchantment against
Jacob, neither is there any
divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel,
What hath God wrought!
04-24:10 And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called
thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.
04-25:3 And Israel joined himself unto
Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD
was kindled against Israel.
04-25:4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take
all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may
be turned away from Israel.
04-26:9 And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and
Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan
and Abiram, which were famous in the
congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they
strove against the LORD:
04-27:3 Our father died in the wilderness,
and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah; but died in
his own sin, and had no sons.
04-27:14 For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the
strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
04-30:9 But every vow of a widow, and of her
that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.
04-31:3 And Moses spake unto the people,
saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.
04-31:7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses;
and they slew all the males.
04-31:16 Behold, these caused the children of
Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was
a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
04-32:13 And the LORD’S anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the
wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the
sight of the LORD, was consumed.
04-32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye
have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
04-35:30 Whoso killeth any person, the
murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against
any person to cause him to die.
05-1:1 These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan
in the wilderness, in the plain over against the
Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel,
and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
05-1:26 Notwithstanding ye would not go up,
but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD
your God:
05-1:41 Then ye answered and said unto me,
We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up
and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had
girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill.
05-1:43 So I spake unto you; and ye would
not hear, but rebelled against the commandment
of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill.
05-1:44 And the Amorites, which dwelt in
that mountain, came out against you, and chased
you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even
unto Hormah.
05-2:15 For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host,
until they were consumed.
05-2:19 And when thou comest nigh over against
the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land
of the children of Ammon any possession;
because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.
05-2:32 Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz.
05-3:1 Then we turned, and went up the way
to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan
came out against us, he and all his people, to
battle at Edrei.
05-3:29 So we abode in the valley over against Bethpeor.
05-4:26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly
perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall
not prolong your days upon it, but
shall utterly be destroyed.
05-4:46 On this side Jordan, in the valley
over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king
of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel
smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:
05-5:20 Neither shalt thou bear false
witness against thy neighbour.
05-6:15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the
anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against
thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
05-7:4 For they will turn away thy son
from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against
you, and destroy thee suddenly.
05-8:19 And it shall be, if thou do at all
forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship
them, I testify against you this day that ye
shall surely perish.
05-9:7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in
the wilderness: from the day that
thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye
have been rebellious against the LORD.
05-9:16 And I looked, and, behold, ye had
sinned against the LORD your God, and had made you a molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of
the way which the LORD had commanded you.
05-9:19 For I was afraid of the anger and
hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was wroth against
you to destroy you. But the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also.
05-9:23 Likewise when the LORD sent you from
Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then
ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD
your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.
05-9:24 Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.
05-11:17 And then the LORD’S wrath be kindled against
you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield
not her fruit; and lest ye perish
quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
05-11:30 Are
they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the
land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
05-15:9 Beware that there be not a thought
in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand;
and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother,
and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against
thee, and it be sin unto thee.
05-19:11 But if any man hate his neighbour,
and lie in wait for him, and rise up against
him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:
05-19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any
sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of
two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be
established.
05-19:16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against
him that which is wrong;
05-19:18 And the judges shall make diligent
inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath
testified falsely against his brother;
05-20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots,
and a people more than thou, be not
afraid of them: for the LORD thy God
is with thee, which brought thee up
out of the land of Egypt.
05-20:3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O
Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against
your enemies: let not your hearts
faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;
05-20:4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for
you against your enemies, to save you.
05-20:10 When thou comest nigh unto a city to
fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.
05-20:12 And if it will make no peace with
thee, but will make war against thee, then thou
shalt besiege it:
05-20:18 That they teach you not to do after
all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.
05-20:19 When thou shalt besiege a city a long
time, in making war against it to take it, thou
shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an ax against
them: for thou mayest eat of them,
and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man’s life) to employ them in
the siege:
05-20:20 Only the trees which thou knowest
that they be not trees for meat, thou
shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it
be subdued.
05-21:10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath
delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive,
05-22:14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and
say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:
05-22:17 And, lo, he hath given occasions of
speech against
her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s
virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
05-22:26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do
nothing; there is in the damsel no
sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:
05-23:4 Because they met you not with bread
and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they
hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of
Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
05-23:9 When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every
wicked thing.
05-24:15 At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go
down upon it; for he is poor, and
setteth his heart upon it: lest he
cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto
thee.
05-28:7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies
that rise up against thee to be smitten before
thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
05-28:25 The LORD shall cause thee to be
smitten before thine enemies: thou
shalt go out one way against them, and flee
seven ways before them: and shalt be
removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
05-28:48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine
enemies which the LORD shall send against thee,
in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things:
and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed
thee.
05-28:49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation
whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
05-29:7 And when ye came unto this place,
Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:
05-29:20 The LORD will not spare him, but then
the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against
that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him,
and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
05-29:27 And the anger of the LORD was kindled
against this land, to bring upon it all the
curses that are written in this book:
05-30:19 I call heaven and earth to record
this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou
and thy seed may live:
05-31:17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and
I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and
troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these
evils come upon us, because our God is not
among us?
05-31:19 Now therefore write ye this song for
you, and teach it the children of Israel:
put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
05-31:21 And it shall come to pass, when many
evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be
forgotten out of the mouths of their seed:
for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought
them into the land which I sware.
05-31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it
in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be
there for a witness against thee.
05-31:27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy
stiff neck: behold, while I am yet
alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against
the LORD; and how much more after my death?
05-31:28 Gather unto me all the elders of your
tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call
heaven and earth to record against them.
05-32:49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim,
unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against
Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of
Israel for a possession:
05-32:51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters
of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness
of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
05-33:11 Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept
the work of his hands: smite through
the loins of them that rise against him, and of
them that hate him, that they rise not again.
05-34:1 And Moses went up from the plains of
Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the
LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,
05-34:6 And he buried him in a valley in the
land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre
unto this day.
06-1:18 Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy
commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest
him, he shall be put to death: only
be strong and of a good courage.
06-3:16 That the waters which came down from
above stood and rose up upon an heap
very far from the city Adam, that is beside
Zaretan: and those that came down
toward the sea of the plain, even the
salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
06-5:13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was
by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a
man over against him with his sword drawn in his
hand: and Joshua went unto him, and
said unto him, Art thou for us, or
for our adversaries?
06-7:1 But the children of Israel
committed a trespass in the accursed thing:
for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe
of Judah, took of the accursed thing:
and the anger of the LORD was kindled against
the children of Israel.
06-7:13 Up, sanctify the people, and say,
Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of
Israel, There is an accursed thing in
the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst
not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from
among you.
06-7:20 And Achan answered Joshua, and said,
Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of
Israel, and thus and thus have I done:
06-8:3 So Joshua arose, and all the people
of war, to go up against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valour, and
sent them away by night.
06-8:4 And he commanded them, saying,
Behold, ye shall lie in wait against the city, even behind the city: go not very far from the city, but be ye all ready:
06-8:5 And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it shall come to pass, when they
come out against us, as at the first, that we
will flee before them,
06-8:14 And it came to pass, when the king
of Ai saw it, that they hasted and
rose up early, and the men of the city went out against
Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed, before the plain;
but he wist not that there were liers
in ambush against him behind the city.
06-8:22 And the other issued out of the city
against them; so they were in the midst of
Israel, some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote them, so that they let none of them remain or
escape.
06-8:33 And all Israel, and their elders,
and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side
before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD,
as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount Gerizim, and half of them over against mount Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD
had commanded before, that they should bless the people of Israel.
06-9:1 And it came to pass, when all the
kings which were on this side Jordan,
in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the
Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof;
06-9:18 And the children of Israel smote
them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the
LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against
the princes.
06-10:5 Therefore the five kings of the
Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the
king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up,
they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.
06-10:6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto
Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants;
come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are
gathered together against us.
06-10:21 And all the people returned to the
camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace:
none moved his tongue against any of the
children of Israel.
06-10:25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not,
nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
06-10:29 Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and
all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against
Libnah:
06-10:31 And Joshua passed from Libnah, and
all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against
it, and fought against it:
06-10:34 And from Lachish Joshua passed unto
Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against
it, and fought against it:
06-10:36 And Joshua went up from Eglon, and
all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against
it:
06-10:38 And Joshua returned, and all Israel
with him, to Debir; and fought against it:
06-11:5 And when all these kings were met
together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
06-11:7 So Joshua came, and all the people
of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom
suddenly; and they fell upon them.
06-11:20 For it was of the LORD to harden
their hearts, that they should come against
Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them,
as the LORD commanded Moses.
06-18:17 And was drawn from the north, and
went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against
the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,
06-18:18 And passed along toward the side over
against Arabah northward, and went down unto
Arabah:
06-19:47 And the coast of the children of Dan
went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up
to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote
it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called
Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
06-22:11 And the children of Israel heard say,
Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of
Manasseh have built an altar over against the land
of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.
06-22:12 And when the children of Israel heard
of it, the whole congregation of the children
of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.
06-22:16 Thus saith the whole congregation of
the LORD, What trespass is this that
ye have committed against the God of Israel, to
turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an
altar, that ye might rebel this day against the
LORD?
06-22:18 But that ye must turn away this day
from following the LORD? and it will be, seeing
ye rebel to day against the LORD, that to
morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.
06-22:19 Notwithstanding, if the land of your
possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the
possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD’S tabernacle dwelleth, and take
possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against
us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the LORD our God.
06-22:22 The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of
gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against
the LORD, (save us not this day,)
06-22:29 God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the
LORD, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for
sacrifices, beside the altar of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle.
06-22:31 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the
priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the
children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the LORD is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the LORD:
now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the LORD.
06-22:33 And the thing pleased the children of
Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to destroy the land wherein
the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.
06-23:16 When ye have transgressed the
covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served
other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be
kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly
from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
06-24:9 Then Balak the son of Zippor, king
of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and
sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you:
06-24:11 And ye went over Jordan, and came
unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho
fought against you, the Amorites, and the
Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the
Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.
06-24:22 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against
yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.
07-1:1 Now after the death of Joshua it
came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go
up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight
against them?
07-1:3 And Judah said unto Simeon his
brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy
lot. So Simeon went with him.
07-1:5 And they found Adonibezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the
Perizzites.
07-1:8 Now the children of Judah had
fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and
smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
07-1:9 And afterward the children of Judah
went down to fight against the Canaanites, that
dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley.
07-1:10 And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron: (now the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba:) and they slew Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.
07-1:11 And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was
Kirjathsepher:
07-1:22 And the house of Joseph, they also
went up against Bethel: and the LORD was with
them.
07-2:14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands
of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies
round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
07-2:15 Whithersoever they went out, the
hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as
the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
07-2:20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people
hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not
hearkened unto my voice;
07-3:8 Therefore the anger of the LORD was
hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand
of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia:
and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.
07-3:10 And the spirit of the LORD came upon
him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into
his hand; and his hand prevailed against
Chushanrishathaim.
07-3:12 And the children of Israel did evil
again in the sight of the LORD: and
the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against
Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.
07-4:24 And the hand of the children of
Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin
the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
07-5:14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against
Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors,
and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.
07-5:20 They fought from heaven; the stars
in their courses fought against Sisera.
07-5:23 Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of
the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to
the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against
the mighty.
07-6:2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel:
and because of the Midianites the
children of Israel made them the dens which are
in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.
07-6:3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the
Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;
07-6:4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth,
till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor
ox, nor ass.
07-6:31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him?
he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he
be a god, let him plead for himself,
because one hath cast down his altar.
07-6:32 Therefore on that day he called him
Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him,
because he hath thrown down his altar.
07-6:39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not
thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak
but this once: let me prove, I pray
thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece,
and upon all the ground let there be dew.
07-7:2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The
people that are with thee are too many for me to give the
Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.
07-7:22 And the three hundred blew the
trumpets, and the LORD set every man’s sword against
his fellow, even throughout all the host:
and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.
07-7:24 And Gideon sent messengers
throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against
the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan. Then
all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto
Bethbarah and Jordan.
07-9:18 And ye are risen up against my father’s house this day, and have slain his
sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the
son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;)
07-9:31 And he sent messengers unto
Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be
come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against
thee.
07-9:33 And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is
up, thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he
and the people that is with him come
out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as
thou shalt find occasion.
07-9:34 And Abimelech rose up, and all the
people that were with him, by night,
and they laid wait against Shechem in four
companies.
07-9:43 And he took the people, and divided
them into three companies, and laid wait in the field, and looked, and, behold,
the people were come forth out of the
city; and he rose up against them, and smote
them.
07-9:45 And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city,
and slew the people that was therein,
and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt.
07-9:50 Then went Abimelech to Thebez, and
encamped against Thebez, and took it.
07-9:52 And Abimelech came unto the tower,
and fought against it, and went hard unto the
door of the tower to burn it with fire.
07-10:7 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the
Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.
07-10:9 Moreover the children of Ammon
passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah,
and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore
distressed.
07-10:10 And the children of Israel cried unto
the LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee,
both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.
07-10:18 And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over
all the inhabitants of Gilead.
07-11:4 And it came to pass in process of
time, that the children of Ammon made war against
Israel.
07-11:5 And it was so, that when the
children of Ammon made war against Israel, the
elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:
07-11:8 And the elders of Gilead said unto
Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and
fight against the children of Ammon, and be our
head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
07-11:9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of
Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against
the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your
head?
07-11:12 And Jephthah sent messengers unto the
king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou
art come against me to fight in my land?
07-11:20 But Sihon trusted not Israel to pass
through his coast: but Sihon
gathered all his people together, and pitched in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
07-11:25 And now art thou any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of
Moab? did he ever strive against Israel, or did
he ever fight against them,
07-11:27 Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me:
the LORD the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the
children of Ammon.
07-11:32 So Jephthah passed over unto the
children of Ammon to fight against them; and the
LORD delivered them into his hands.
07-12:1 And the men of Ephraim gathered
themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore
passedst thou over to fight against the children
of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon
thee with fire.
07-12:3 And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and
passed over against the children of Ammon, and
the LORD delivered them into my hand:
wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
07-14:4 But his father and his mother knew
not that it was of the LORD, that he
sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had
dominion over Israel.
07-14:5 Then went Samson down, and his
father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.
07-15:10 And the men of Judah said, Why are ye
come up against us? And they answered, To bind
Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.
07-15:14 And
when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against
him: and the spirit of the LORD came
mightily upon him, and the cords that were
upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed
from off his hands.
07-16:5 And the lords of the Philistines
came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great
strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us
eleven hundred pieces of silver.
07-18:9 And they said, Arise, that we may go
up against them: for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are ye still? be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land.
07-19:2 And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father’s
house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
07-19:10 But the man would not tarry that
night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against
Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled,
his concubine also was with him.
07-20:5 And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by
night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced,
that she is dead.
07-20:9 But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will go up by lot against it;
07-20:11 So all the men of Israel were
gathered against the city, knit together as one
man.
07-20:14 But the children of Benjamin gathered
themselves together out of the cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
07-20:18 And the children of Israel arose, and
went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us
shall go up first to the battle against the
children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
07-20:19 And the children of Israel rose up in
the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.
07-20:20 And the men of Israel went out to
battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel
put themselves in array to fight against them at
Gibeah.
07-20:23 (And the children of Israel went up
and wept before the LORD until even, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying,
Shall I go up again to battle against the
children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
07-20:24 And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
07-20:25 And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and
destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand
men; all these drew the sword.
07-20:28 And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the
son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out
to battle against the children of Benjamin my
brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will
deliver them into thine hand.
07-20:30 And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and
put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at
other times.
07-20:31 And the children of Benjamin went out
against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the
people, and kill, as at other times,
in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to
Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
07-20:34 And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all
Israel, and the battle was sore: but
they knew not that evil was near
them.
07-20:43 Thus
they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and trode
them down with ease over against Gibeah toward
the sunrising.
08-1:13 Would ye tarry for them till they
were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for
it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.
08-1:21 I went out full, and the LORD hath
brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD
hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath
afflicted me?
09-2:25 If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him?
Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the
LORD would slay them.
09-3:12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things
which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.
09-4:1 And the word of Samuel came to all
Israel. Now Israel went out against the
Philistines to battle, and pitched beside Ebenezer: and the Philistines pitched in Aphek.
09-4:2 And the Philistines put themselves
in array against Israel: and when they joined battle, Israel was smitten before the
Philistines: and they slew of the
army in the field about four thousand men.
09-5:9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was
against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both
small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.
09-7:6 And they gathered together to
Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out
before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of
Israel in Mizpeh.
09-7:7 And when the Philistines heard that
the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the
Philistines went up against Israel. And when the
children of Israel heard it, they
were afraid of the Philistines.
09-7:10 And as Samuel was offering up the
burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against
Israel: but the LORD thundered with
a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and
they were smitten before Israel.
09-7:13 So the Philistines were subdued, and
they came no more into the coast of Israel:
and the hand of the LORD was against the
Philistines all the days of Samuel.
09-9:14 And they went up into the city: and
when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.
09-11:1 Then Nahash the Ammonite came up,
and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto
Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.
09-12:3 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass
have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand
have I received any bribe to blind
mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.
09-12:5 And he said unto them, The LORD is witness against
you, and his anointed is witness this
day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.
09-12:9 And when they forgat the LORD their
God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and
into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and
they fought against them.
09-12:12 And when ye saw that Nahash the king
of the children of Ammon came against you, ye
said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your
king.
09-12:14 If ye will fear the LORD, and serve
him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against
the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth
over you continue following the LORD your God:
09-12:15 But if ye will not obey the voice of
the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of
the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against
you, as it was against your fathers.
09-12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I
should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray
for you: but I will teach you the
good and the right way:
09-14:5 The forefront of the one was situate northward over against Michmash, and the other southward over against Gibeah.
09-14:20 And Saul and all the people that were with him assembled themselves, and
they came to the battle: and,
behold, every man’s sword was against his
fellow, and there was a very great
discomfiture.
09-14:33 Then they told Saul, saying, Behold,
the people sin against the LORD, in that they
eat with the blood. And he said, Ye have transgressed: roll a great stone unto me this day.
09-14:34 And Saul said, Disperse yourselves
among the people, and say unto them, Bring me hither every man his ox, and
every man his sheep, and slay them here,
and eat; and sin not against the LORD in eating
with the blood. And all the people brought every man his ox with him that
night, and slew them there.
09-14:47 So Saul took the kingdom over Israel,
and fought against all his enemies on every
side, against Moab, and against
the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed them.
09-14:52 And there was sore war against the Philistines all the days of Saul: and when Saul saw any strong man, or
any valiant man, he took him unto him.
09-15:7 And Saul smote the Amalekites from
Havilah until thou comest to Shur,
that is over against
Egypt.
09-15:18 And the LORD sent thee on a journey,
and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
09-17:2 And Saul and the men of Israel were
gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in
array against the Philistines.
09-17:9 If he be able to fight with me, and
to kill me, then will we be your servants:
but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then
shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
09-17:21 For Israel and the Philistines had
put the battle in array, army against army.
09-17:28 And Eliab his eldest brother heard
when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down
hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know
thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou
mightest see the battle.
09-17:33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not
able to go against this Philistine to fight with
him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
09-17:35 And I went out after him, and smote
him, and delivered it out of his
mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
09-17:55 And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the
captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this
youth? And Abner said, As thy soul
liveth, O king, I cannot tell.
09-18:21 And Saul said, I will give him her,
that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt
this day be my son in law in the one of the
twain.
09-19:4 And Jonathan spake good of David
unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against
David; because he hath not sinned against thee,
and because his works have been to
thee-ward very good:
09-19:5 For he did put his life in his hand,
and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice:
wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent
blood, to slay David without a cause?
09-20:30 Then Saul’s anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of
the perverse rebellious woman, do not
I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto
the confusion of thy mother’s nakedness?
09-22:8 That all of you have conspired against me, and there
is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of
Jesse, and there is none of you that
is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
09-22:13 And Saul said unto him, Why have ye
conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse,
in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast enquired of God for
him, that he should rise against me, to lie in
wait, as at this day?
09-23:1 Then they told David, saying,
Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah,
and they rob the threshingfloors.
09-23:3 And David’s men said unto him,
Behold, we be afraid here in Judah:
how much more then if we come to Keilah against
the armies of the Philistines?
09-23:9 And David knew that Saul secretly
practised mischief against him; and he said to
Abiathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.
09-23:28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing
after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place
Selahammahlekoth.
09-24:6 And he said unto his men, The LORD
forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD’S anointed, to
stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.
09-24:7 So David stayed his servants with
these words, and suffered them not to rise against
Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.
09-24:10 Behold, this day thine eyes have seen
how that the LORD had delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD’S anointed.
09-24:11 Moreover, my father, see, yea, see
the skirt of thy robe in my hand:
for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and
see that there is neither evil nor
transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against
thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.
09-25:17 Now therefore know and consider what
thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our
master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a
man cannot speak to him.
09-25:20 And it was so, as she rode on the ass, that she came down by the covert on the
hill, and, behold, David and his men came down against
her; and she met them.
09-25:22 So and more also do God unto the
enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain
to him by the morning light any that pisseth against
the wall.
09-25:34 For in very deed, as the LORD God of Israel liveth, which
hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet
me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that
pisseth against the wall.
09-26:9 And David said to Abishai, Destroy
him not: for who can stretch forth
his hand against the LORD’S anointed, and be
guiltless?
09-26:11 The LORD forbid that I should stretch
forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed: but, I pray thee, take thou now the
spear that is at his bolster, and the
cruse of water, and let us go.
09-26:19 Now therefore, I pray thee, let my
lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD have stirred thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from
abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.
09-26:23 The LORD render to every man his
righteousness and his faithfulness:
for the LORD delivered thee into my hand
to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against
the LORD’S anointed.
09-27:10 And Achish said, Whither have ye made
a road to day? And David said, Against the south
of Judah, and against the south of the
Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the
Kenites.
09-28:15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast
thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed;
for the Philistines make war against me, and God
is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by
dreams: therefore I have called
thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
09-29:8 And David said unto Achish, But what
have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been
with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against
the enemies of my lord the king?
09-30:23 Then said David, Ye shall not do so,
my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and
delivered the company that came against us into
our hand.
09-31:1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel:
and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in
mount Gilboa.
09-31:3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him; and he was sore
wounded of the archers.
10-1:16 And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath
testified against thee, saying, I have slain the
LORD’S anointed.
10-3:8 Then was Abner very wroth for the
words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a
dog’s head, which against Judah do shew kindness
this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his
friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest
me to day with a fault concerning this woman?
10-5:23 And when David enquired of the LORD,
he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch
a compass behind them, and come upon them over against
the mulberry trees.
10-6:7 And the anger of the LORD was
kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there
for his error; and there he died by
the ark of God.
10-8:10 Then Toi sent Joram his son unto
king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and
vessels of brass:
10-10:9 When Joab saw that the front of the
battle was against him before and behind, he
chose of all the choice men of
Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:
10-10:10 And the rest of the people he
delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put them in array against
the children of Ammon.
10-10:13 And Joab drew nigh, and the people
that were with him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.
10-10:17 And when it was told David, he
gathered all Israel together, and passed over Jordan, and came to Helam. And
the Syrians set themselves in array against
David, and fought with him.
10-11:23 And the messenger said unto David,
Surely the men prevailed against us, and came
out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the
gate.
10-11:25 Then David said unto the messenger,
Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword
devoureth one as well as another:
make thy battle more strong against the city,
and overthrow it: and encourage thou
him.
10-12:5 And David’s anger was greatly
kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath
done this thing shall surely die:
10-12:11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will
raise up evil against thee out of thine own
house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall
lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
10-12:13 And David said unto Nathan, I have
sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto
David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
10-12:26 And Joab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the
royal city.
10-12:27 And Joab sent messengers to David,
and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have
taken the city of waters.
10-12:28 Now therefore gather the rest of the
people together, and encamp against the city,
and take it: lest I take the city,
and it be called after my name.
10-12:29 And David gathered all the people
together, and went to Rabbah, and fought against
it, and took it.
10-14:7 And, behold, the whole family is
risen against thine handmaid, and they said, Deliver
him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother
whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not
leave to my husband neither name nor
remainder upon the earth.
10-14:13 And the woman said, Wherefore then
hast thou thought such a thing against the
people of God? for the king doth speak this thing as one which is faulty, in
that the king doth not fetch home again his banished.
10-16:13 And as David and his men went by the
way, Shimei went along on the hill’s side over against
him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.
10-17:21 And it came to pass, after they were
departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and
said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus hath Ahithophel counselled against
you.
10-18:6 So the people went out into the
field against Israel: and the battle was in the wood of Ephraim;
10-18:12 And the man said unto Joab, Though I
should receive a thousand shekels of
silver in mine hand, yet would I not
put forth mine hand against the king’s son: for in our hearing the king charged
thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.
10-18:13 Otherwise I should have wrought
falsehood against mine own life: for there is no matter hid from the
king, and thou thyself wouldest have set thyself against
me.
10-18:28 And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the
king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king,
and said, Blessed be the LORD thy
God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.
10-18:31 And, behold, Cushi came; and Cushi
said, Tidings, my lord the king: for
the LORD hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee.
10-18:32 And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young
man Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, The enemies of my lord the king, and all
that rise against thee to do thee hurt, be as that young man is.
10-20:15 And they came and besieged him in
Abel of Bethmaachah, and they cast up a bank against
the city, and it stood in the trench:
and all the people that were with
Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
10-20:21 The matter is not so: but a man of
mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even
against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman
said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.
10-21:5 And they answered the king, The man
that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from
remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
10-21:15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war
again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
10-22:40 For thou hast girded me with strength
to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.
10-22:49 And that bringeth me forth from mine
enemies: thou also hast lifted me up
on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the
violent man.
10-23:8 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains;
the same was Adino the Eznite: he
lift up his spear against eight hundred,
whom he slew at one time.
10-23:18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the
son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had
the name among three.
10-24:1 And again the anger of the LORD was
kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
10-24:4 Notwithstanding the king’s word
prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the
captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the
people of Israel.
10-24:17 And David spake unto the LORD when he
saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have
done wickedly: but these sheep, what
have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against
me, and against my father’s house.
11-2:23 Then king Solomon sware by the LORD,
saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.
11-6:5 And against
the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round
about, both of the temple and of the
oracle: and he made chambers round
about:
11-6:10 And then he built chambers against all
the house, five cubits high: and
they rested on the house with timber
of cedar.
11-7:4 And there were windows in three
rows, and light was against light in
three ranks.
11-7:5 And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.
11-7:20 And the chapiters upon the two
pillars had pomegranates also above,
over against the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two
hundred in rows round about upon the other chapiter.
11-7:39 And he put five bases on the right
side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward over against the south.
11-8:31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to
cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:
11-8:33 When thy people Israel be smitten
down before the enemy, because they have sinned against
thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make
supplication unto thee in this house:
11-8:35 When heaven is shut up, and there is
no rain, because they have sinned against thee;
if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when
thou afflictest them:
11-8:44 If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send
them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for
thy name:
11-8:46 If they sin against
thee, (for there is no man that
sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so
that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;
11-8:50 And forgive thy people that have
sinned against thee, and all their
transgressions wherein they have transgressed against
thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they
may have compassion on them:
11-11:26 And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an
Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he
lifted up his hand against the king.
11-11:27 And this was the cause that he lifted up his
hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired
the breaches of the city of David his father.
11-12:19 So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.
11-12:21 And when Rehoboam was come to
Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an
hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom
again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
11-12:24 Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go
up, nor fight against your brethren the children
of Israel: return every man to his
house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the
LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.
11-13:2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar,
altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of
David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high
places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee.
11-13:4 And it came to pass, when king
Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his
hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in
again to him.
11-13:32 For the saying which he cried by the
word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel,
and against all the houses of the high places
which are in the cities of Samaria,
shall surely come to pass.
11-14:10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil
upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and
him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of
the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.
11-14:25 And it came to pass in the fifth year
of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king
of Egypt came up against Jerusalem:
11-15:17 And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not
suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
11-15:20 So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa,
and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against
the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all
Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
11-15:27 And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the
house of Issachar, conspired against him; and
Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged
to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
11-16:1 Then the word of the LORD came to
Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
11-16:7 And also by the hand of the prophet
Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against
Baasha, and against his house, even for all the
evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the
work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed
him.
11-16:9 And his servant Zimri, captain of
half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself
drunk in the house of Arza steward of his
house in Tirzah.
11-16:11 And it came to pass, when he began to
reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that
he slew all the house of Baasha:
he left him not one that pisseth against a wall,
neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
11-16:12 Thus did Zimri destroy all the house
of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
11-16:15 In the twenty and seventh year of Asa
king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against
Gibbethon, which belonged to the
Philistines.
11-16:22 But the people that followed Omri
prevailed against the people that followed Tibni
the son of Ginath: so Tibni died,
and Omri reigned.
11-20:1 And Benhadad the king of Syria
gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with
him, and horses, and chariots: and
he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against
it.
11-20:12 And it came to pass, when Benhadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions,
that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves
in array. And they set themselves in
array against the city.
11-20:22 And the prophet came to the king of
Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen thyself, and mark, and see what thou
doest: for at the return of the year
the king of Syria will come up against thee.
11-20:23 And the servants of the king of Syria
said unto him, Their gods are gods of
the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be
stronger than they.
11-20:25 And number thee an army, like the
army that thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he hearkened unto
their voice, and did so.
11-20:26 And it came to pass at the return of
the year, that Benhadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.
11-20:27 And the children of Israel were
numbered, and were all present, and went against
them: and the children of Israel
pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the
country.
11-20:29 And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of
the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.
11-21:10 And set two men, sons of Belial,
before him, to bear witness against him, saying,
Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then
carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
11-21:13 And there came in two men, children
of Belial, and sat before him: and
the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against
Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the
king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones,
that he died.
11-21:21 Behold, I will bring evil upon thee,
and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in
Israel,
11-22:6 Then the king of Israel gathered the
prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear?
And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
11-22:15 So he came to the king. And the king
said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against
Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and
prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
11-22:32 And it came to pass, when the
captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned
aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
11-22:35 And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his
chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound
into the midst of the chariot.
12-1:1 Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
12-3:5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was
dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the
king of Israel.
12-3:7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat
the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me:
wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And
he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and
my horses as thy horses.
12-3:21 And when all the Moabites heard that
the kings were come up to fight against them,
they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the
border.
12-3:27 Then he took his eldest son that
should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation
against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.
12-5:7 And it came to pass, when the king
of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive,
that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore
consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against
me.
12-6:8 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants,
saying, In such and such a place shall be
my camp.
12-7:6 For the Lord had made the host of
the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the
king of Israel hath hired against us the kings
of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
12-8:28 And he went with Joram the son of
Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in
Ramothgilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
12-8:29 And king Joram went back to be
healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when
he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And
Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab
in Jezreel, because he was sick.
12-9:8 For the whole house of Ahab shall
perish: and I will cut off from Ahab
him that pisseth against the wall, and him that
is shut up and left in Israel:
12-9:14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the
son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now
Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of
Syria.
12-9:21 And Joram said, Make ready. And his
chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went
out, each in his chariot, and they went out against
Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
12-10:9 And it came to pass in the morning,
that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my
master, and slew him: but who slew
all these?
12-12:17 Then Hazael king of Syria went up,
and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to
Jerusalem.
12-13:3 And the anger of the LORD was
kindled against Israel, and he delivered them
into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of
Hazael, all their days.
12-13:12 And the rest of the acts of Joash,
and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against
Amaziah king of Judah, are they not
written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
12-14:19 Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and
slew him there.
12-15:10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh
conspired against him, and smote him before the
people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
12-15:19 And
Pul the king of Assyria came against the
land: and Menahem gave Pul a
thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the
kingdom in his hand.
12-15:25 But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain
of his, conspired against him, and smote him in
Samaria, in the palace of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him
fifty men of the Gileadites: and he
killed him, and reigned in his room.
12-15:30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a
conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah,
and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of
Jotham the son of Uzziah.
12-15:37 In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the
son of Remaliah.
12-16:7 So Ahaz sent messengers to
Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am
thy servant and thy son: come up,
and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the
king of Israel, which rise up against me.
12-16:9 And the king of Assyria hearkened
unto him: for the king of Assyria
went up against Damascus, and took it, and
carried the people of it captive to
Kir, and slew Rezin.
12-16:11 And Urijah the priest built an altar
according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Urijah the priest made it
against king Ahaz came from Damascus.
12-17:3 Against
him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and
gave him presents.
12-17:7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up
out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had
feared other gods,
12-17:9 And the children of Israel did
secretly those things that were not right against
the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from
the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
12-17:13 Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against
Judah, by all the prophets, and by all
the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the
law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the
prophets.
12-17:15 And they rejected his statutes, and
his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he
testified against them; and they followed
vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning
whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
12-18:7 And the LORD was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.
12-18:9 And it came to pass in the fourth
year of king Hezekiah, which was the
seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against
Samaria, and besieged it.
12-18:13 Now in the fourteenth year of king
Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against
all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them.
12-18:17 And the king of Assyria sent Tartan
and Rabsaris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to
Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of
the upper pool, which is in the
highway of the fuller’s field.
12-18:20 Thou sayest, (but they are but vain words), I have counsel and strength for the war.
Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against
me?
12-18:25 Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me,
Go up against this land, and destroy it.
12-19:8 So Rabshakeh returned, and found the
king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed
from Lachish.
12-19:9 And when he heard say of Tirhakah
king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against
thee: he sent messengers again unto
Hezekiah, saying,
12-19:20 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to
Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against
Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.
12-19:22 Whom hast thou reproached and
blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on
high? even against
the Holy One of Israel.
12-19:27 But I know thy abode, and thy going
out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
12-19:28 Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears,
therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will
turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
12-19:32 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning
the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow
there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against
it.
12-21:23 And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.
12-21:24 And the people of the land slew all
them that had conspired against king Amon; and
the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
12-22:13 Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me,
and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that
is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled
against us, because our fathers have not
hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is
written concerning us.
12-22:17 Because they have forsaken me, and
have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with
all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.
12-22:19 Because thine heart was tender, and thou
hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against
the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and
hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD.
12-23:17 Then he said, What title is that that I see? And the men of the
city told him, It is the sepulchre of
the man of God, which came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that thou
hast done against the altar of Bethel.
12-23:26 Notwithstanding the LORD turned not
from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations that
Manasseh had provoked him withal.
12-23:29 In his days Pharaohnechoh king of
Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the
river Euphrates: and king Josiah
went against him; and he slew him at Megiddo,
when he had seen him.
12-24:1 In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of
Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
12-24:2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the
Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and
sent them against Judah to destroy it, according
to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.
12-24:10 At that time the servants of
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against
Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
12-24:11 And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon
came against the city, and his servants did
besiege it.
12-24:20 For through the anger of the LORD it
came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his
presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king
of Babylon.
12-25:1 And it came to pass in the ninth
year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar
king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against
Jerusalem, and pitched against it: and they built forts against it round about.
12-25:4 And the city was broken up, and all
the men of war fled by night by the
way of the gate between two walls, which is
by the king’s garden: (now the
Chaldees were against the city round about:)
and the king went the way toward the
plain.
13-5:11 And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salcah:
13-5:20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into
their hand, and all that were with
them: for they cried to God in the
battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
13-5:25 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring
after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
13-8:32 And Mikloth begat Shimeah. And these
also dwelt with their brethren in Jerusalem, over against
them.
13-9:38 And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they
also dwelt with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against
their brethren.
13-10:1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before
the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
13-10:3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was
wounded of the archers.
13-10:13 So Saul died for his transgression
which he committed against the LORD, even against
the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;
13-11:11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an
Hachmonite, the chief of the captains:
he lifted up his spear against three hundred
slain by him at one time.
13-11:20 And Abishai the brother of Joab, he
was chief of the three: for lifting
up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.
13-12:19 And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not:
for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will
fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy
of our heads.
13-12:21 And they helped David against the band of
the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were
captains in the host.
13-13:10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled
against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put
his hand to the ark: and there he
died before God.
13-14:8 And when the Philistines heard that
David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek
David. And David heard of it, and
went out against them.
13-14:10 And David enquired of God, saying,
Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt
thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will
deliver them into thine hand.
13-14:14 Therefore David enquired again of
God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come
upon them over against the mulberry trees.
13-18:10 He sent Hadoram his son to king
David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had
fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for
Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him
all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
13-19:10 Now when Joab saw that the battle was
set against him before and behind, he chose out
of all the choice of Israel, and put them
in array against the Syrians.
13-19:11 And the rest of the people he
delivered unto the hand of Abishai his brother, and they set themselves in array against the children of Ammon.
13-19:17 And it was told David; and he
gathered all Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came upon them, and set the battle in array against them. So when David had put the battle in
array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
13-21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
13-21:4 Nevertheless the king’s word
prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed,
and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.
13-24:31 These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron in the
presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the
fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren.
13-25:8 And they cast lots, ward against ward, as
well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.
13-26:12 Among these were the divisions of the porters, even among the chief men, having
wards one against another, to minister in
the house of the LORD.
13-26:16 To Shuppim and Hosah the lot came forth westward, with the
gate Shallecheth, by the causeway of the going up, ward against ward.
13-27:24 Joab the son of Zeruiah began to
number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the
account of the chronicles of king David.
14-4:10 And he set the sea on the right side
of the east end, over against the south.
14-6:22 If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him
swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;
14-6:24 And if thy people Israel be put to
the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against
thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication
before thee in this house;
14-6:26 When the heaven is shut up, and
there is no rain, because they have sinned against
thee; yet if they pray toward this
place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict
them;
14-6:34 If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send
them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the
house which I have built for thy name;
14-6:36 If they sin against
thee, (for there is no man which
sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away
captives unto a land far off or near;
14-6:39 Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their
prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy
people which have sinned against thee.
14-8:3 And Solomon went to Hamathzobah,
and prevailed against it.
14-9:29 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon,
first and last, are they not written
in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite,
and in the visions of Iddo the seer against
Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
14-10:19 And Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.
14-11:1 And when Rehoboam was come to
Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and
fourscore thousand chosen men, which
were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he
might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
14-11:4 Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go
up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And
they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
14-12:2 And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam
Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem,
because they had transgressed against the LORD,
14-12:9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the
house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of
gold which Solomon had made.
14-13:3 And Abijah set the battle in array
with an army of valiant men of war, even four
hundred thousand chosen men:
Jeroboam also set the battle in array against
him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being
mighty men of valour.
14-13:6 Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the
servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
14-13:7 And there are gathered unto him vain
men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was
young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
14-13:12 And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not
prosper.
14-14:9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a
thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.
14-14:10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the
valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
14-14:11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God,
and said, LORD, it is nothing with
thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest
on thee, and in thy name we go against this
multitude. O LORD, thou art our God;
let not man prevail against thee.
14-16:1 In the six and thirtieth year of the
reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against
Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in
to Asa king of Judah.
14-16:4 And Benhadad hearkened unto king
Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against
the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the
store cities of Naphtali.
14-17:1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in
his stead, and strengthened himself against
Israel.
14-17:10 And the fear of the LORD fell upon
all the kingdoms of the lands that were round
about Judah, so that they made no war against
Jehoshaphat.
14-18:22 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath
put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken
evil against thee.
14-18:34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians
until the even: and about the time
of the sun going down he died.
14-19:10 And what cause soever shall come to
you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood,
between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them
that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your
brethren: this do, and ye shall not
trespass.
14-20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the
children of Ammon, and with them other beside
the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to
battle.
14-20:2 Then there came some that told
Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against
thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
14-20:12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them?
for we have no might against this great company
that cometh against us; neither know we what to
do: but our eyes are upon thee.
14-20:16 To morrow go ye down against them:
behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of
the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
14-20:17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD
with you, O Judah and Jerusalem:
fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against
them: for the LORD will be with you.
14-20:22 And when they began to sing and to
praise, the LORD set ambushments against the
children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
14-20:23 For the children of Ammon and Moab
stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir,
utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of
the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
14-20:29 And the fear of God was on all the
kingdoms of those countries, when
they had heard that the LORD fought against the
enemies of Israel.
14-20:37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of
Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying,
Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works.
And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
14-21:16 Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of
the Arabians, that were near the
Ethiopians:
14-22:5 He walked also after their counsel,
and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramothgilead: and the Syrians smote Joram.
14-22:7 And the destruction of Ahaziah was
of God by coming to Joram: for when
he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu
the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.
14-24:19 Yet he sent prophets to them, to
bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against
them: but they would not give ear.
14-24:21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the
commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.
14-24:23 And it came to pass at the end of the
year, that the host of Syria came up against him:
and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the
people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus.
14-24:24 For the army of the Syrians came with
a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their
hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed
judgment against Joash.
14-24:25 And when they were departed from him,
(for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the
priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not
in the sepulchres of the kings.
14-24:26 And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess,
and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess.
14-25:10 Then Amaziah separated them, to wit, the army that was come to him
out of Ephraim, to go home again:
wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against
Judah, and they returned home in great anger.
14-25:15 Wherefore the anger of the LORD was
kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet,
which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which
could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?
14-25:27 Now after the time that Amaziah did
turn away from following the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him,
and slew him there.
14-26:6 And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of
Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about
Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
14-26:7 And God helped him against the Philistines, and against
the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims.
14-26:13 And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and
seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the
king against the enemy.
14-26:16 But when he was strong, his heart was
lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of
the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
14-27:5 He fought also with the king of the
Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the
children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten
thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the
children of Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third.
14-28:10 And now ye purpose to keep under the children
of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not with
you, even with you, sins against the LORD your
God?
14-28:12 Then certain of the heads of the
children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of
Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai,
stood up against them that came from the war,
14-28:13 And said unto them, Ye shall not
bring in the captives hither: for
whereas we have offended against the LORD already, ye intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.
14-28:19 For the LORD brought Judah low
because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the LORD.
14-28:22 And in the time of his distress did
he trespass yet more against the LORD: this is that king Ahaz.
14-30:7 And be not ye like your fathers, and
like your brethren, which trespassed against the
LORD God of their fathers, who therefore
gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
14-32:1 After these things, and the
establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into
Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities,
and thought to win them for himself.
14-32:2 And when Hezekiah saw that
Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,
14-32:9 After this did Sennacherib king of
Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (but he himself laid siege against Lachish,
and all his power with him,) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah
that were at Jerusalem, saying,
14-32:16 And his servants spake yet more against
the LORD God, and against his servant Hezekiah.
14-32:17 He wrote also letters to rail on the
LORD God of Israel, and to speak against him,
saying, As the gods of the nations of other
lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the
God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand.
14-32:19 And they spake against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the people of the earth, which were the work of the hands of man.
14-33:24 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
14-33:25 But the people of the land slew all
them that had conspired against king Amon; and
the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
14-34:27 Because thine heart was tender, and
thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against
the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy
clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD.
14-35:20 After all this, when Josiah had
prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Charchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.
14-35:21 But he sent ambassadors to him,
saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day,
but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.
14-36:6 Against
him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry
him to Babylon.
14-36:13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by
God: but he stiffened his neck, and
hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.
14-36:16 But they mocked the messengers of
God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the
LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
15-4:5 And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days
of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
15-4:6 And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in
the beginning of his reign, wrote they unto
him an accusation against the inhabitants of
Judah and Jerusalem.
15-4:8 Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai
the scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to
Artaxerxes the king in this sort:
15-4:19 And I commanded, and search hath
been made, and it is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection against kings, and that
rebellion and sedition have been made therein.
15-7:23 Whatsoever is commanded by the God of
heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
15-8:22 For I was ashamed to require of the
king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against
the enemy in the way: because we had
spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his
wrath is against
all them that forsake him.
15-10:2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and
said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our
God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
16-1:6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and
thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray
before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and
confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee:
both I and my father’s house have sinned.
16-1:7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor
the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
16-2:19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, and
Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and
despised us, and said, What is this
thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the
king?
16-3:10 And next unto them repaired Jedaiah
the son of Harumaph, even over against his
house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.
16-3:16 After him repaired Nehemiah the son
of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place over against the
sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the
mighty.
16-3:19 And next to him repaired Ezer the
son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against
the going up to the armoury at the turning of
the wall.
16-3:23 After him repaired Benjamin and
Hashub over against their house. After him
repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.
16-3:25 Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high
house, that was by the court of the
prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.
16-3:26 Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in
Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower
that lieth out.
16-3:27 After them the Tekoites repaired
another piece, over against the great tower that
lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.
16-3:28 From above the horse gate repaired
the priests, every one over against his house.
16-3:29 After them repaired Zadok the son of
Immer over against his house. After him repaired
also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.
16-3:30 After him repaired Hananiah the son
of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him
repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against
his chamber.
16-3:31 After him repaired Malchiah the
goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the
corner.
16-4:8 And conspired all of them together
to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.
16-4:9 Nevertheless we made our prayer
unto our God, and set a watch against them day
and night, because of them.
16-5:1 And there was a great cry of the
people and of their wives against their brethren
the Jews.
16-5:7 Then I consulted with myself, and I
rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every
one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against
them.
16-6:12 And, lo, I perceived that God had
not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against
me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had
hired him.
16-7:3 And I said unto them, Let not the
gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let
them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against
his house.
16-9:10 And shewedst signs and wonders upon
Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt
proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a
name, as it is this day.
16-9:26 Nevertheless they were disobedient,
and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law
behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought
great provocations.
16-9:29 And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto
thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and
hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against
thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the
shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.
16-9:30 Yet many years didst thou forbear
them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit
in thy prophets: yet would they not
give ear: therefore gavest thou them
into the hand of the people of the lands.
16-9:34 Neither have our kings, our princes,
our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments
and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against
them.
16-12:9 Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their
brethren, were over against them in the watches.
16-12:24 And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the
son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against
them, to praise and to give thanks,
according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward.
16-12:37 And at the fountain gate, which was
over against them, they went up by the stairs of
the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even
unto the water gate eastward.
16-12:38 And the other company of them that gave thanks went over against
them, and I after them, and the half
of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto
the broad wall;
16-13:2 Because they met not the children of
Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against
them, that he should curse them:
howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.
16-13:15 In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the
sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and
figs, and all manner of burdens,
which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold
victuals.
16-13:21 Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about
the wall? if ye do so again, I will
lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.
16-13:27 Shall we then hearken unto you to do
all this great evil, to transgress against our
God in marrying strange wives?
17-2:1 After these things, when the wrath
of king Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done,
and what was decreed against her.
17-3:14 The copy of the writing for a commandment
to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should
be ready against that day.
17-5:1 Now it came to pass on the third
day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of
the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal
throne in the royal house, over against the gate
of the house.
17-5:9 Then went Haman forth that day
joyful and with a glad heart: but
when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for
him, he was full of indignation against
Mordecai.
17-6:13 And Haman told Zeresh his wife and
all his friends every thing that had
befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom
thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against
him, but shalt surely fall before him.
17-7:7 And the king arising from the
banquet of wine in his wrath went into
the palace garden: and Haman stood
up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was
evil determined against him by the king.
17-8:3 And Esther spake yet again before
the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away
the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.
17-8:13 The copy of the writing for a
commandment to be given in every province was
published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their
enemies.
17-9:24 Because Haman the son of Hammedatha,
the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against
the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;
17-9:25 But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his
wicked device, which he devised against the
Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be
hanged on the gallows.
18-2:3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast
thou considered my servant Job, that there
is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that
feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although
thou movedst me against him, to destroy him
without cause.
18-6:4 For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof
drinketh up my spirit: the terrors
of God do set themselves in array against me.
18-7:20 I have sinned; what shall I do unto
thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?
18-8:4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their
transgression;
18-9:4 He
is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
18-10:17 Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me;
changes and war are against me.
18-11:5 But oh that God would speak, and
open his lips against thee;
18-13:26 For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of
my youth.
18-14:20 Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
18-15:6 Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and
not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
18-15:13 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?
18-15:24 Trouble and anguish shall make him
afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a
king ready to the battle.
18-15:25 For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
18-16:4 I also could speak as ye do:
if your soul were in my soul’s stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
18-16:8 And thou hast filled me with
wrinkles, which is a witness against me: and my leanness rising up in me
beareth witness to my face.
18-16:10 They have gaped upon me with their
mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered
themselves together against me.
18-17:8 Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up
himself against the hypocrite.
18-18:9 The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against
him.
18-19:5 If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against
me, and plead against me my reproach:
18-19:11 He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.
18-19:12 His troops come together, and raise up
their way against me, and encamp round about my
tabernacle.
18-19:18 Yea, young children despised me; I
arose, and they spake against me.
18-19:19 All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
18-20:27 The heaven shall reveal his iniquity;
and the earth shall rise up against him.
18-21:27 Behold, I know your thoughts, and the
devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
18-23:6 Will he plead against me with his
great power? No; but he would put strength
in me.
18-24:13 They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor
abide in the paths thereof.
18-27:7 Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and
he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
18-30:12 Upon my right hand rise the
youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against
me the ways of their destruction.
18-30:21 Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest
thyself against me.
18-31:21 If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:
18-31:38 If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof
complain;
18-32:2 Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu
the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled,
because he justified himself rather than God.
18-32:3 Also against
his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.
18-32:14 Now he hath not directed his words against
me: neither will I answer him with
your speeches.
18-33:10 Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
18-33:13 Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his
matters.
18-34:6 Should I lie against my right? my wound is
incurable without transgression.
18-34:29 When he giveth quietness, who then
can make trouble? and when he hideth his face,
who then can behold him? whether it be
done against a nation, or against a man only:
18-34:37 For he addeth rebellion unto his sin,
he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth
his words against God.
18-35:6 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if
thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
18-38:23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against
the day of battle and war?
18-39:16 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her
labour is in vain without fear;
18-39:23 The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.
18-42:7 And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD
said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against
thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant
Job hath.
19-2:2 The kings of the earth set
themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against
the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
19-3:1 LORD, how are they increased that
trouble me! many are they that rise
up against me.
19-3:6 I will not be afraid of ten
thousands of people, that have set themselves
against me round about.
19-5:10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them
fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions;
for they have rebelled against thee.
19-7:13 He hath also prepared for him the
instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against
the persecutors.
19-10:8 He sitteth in the lurking places of
the villages: in the secret places
doth he murder the innocent: his
eyes are privily set against the poor.
19-13:4 Lest mine enemy say, I have
prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
19-15:3 He
that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor
taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
19-15:5 He
that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
19-17:7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness,
O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
19-18:39 For thou hast girded me with strength
unto the battle: thou hast subdued
under me those that rose up against me.
19-18:48 He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those
that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
19-21:11 For they intended evil against thee:
they imagined a mischievous device, which
they are not able to perform.
19-21:12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn
their back, when thou shalt make
ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
19-27:3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
19-27:12 Deliver me not over unto the will of
mine enemies: for false witnesses
are risen up against me, and such as breathe out
cruelty.
19-31:13 For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while
they took counsel together against me, they
devised to take away my life.
19-31:18 Let the lying lips be put to silence;
which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against
the righteous.
19-34:16 The face of the LORD is against
them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
19-35:1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
19-35:3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against
them that persecute me: say unto my
soul, I am thy salvation.
19-35:15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and
gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves
together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
19-35:20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them
that are quiet in the land.
19-35:21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said,
Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.
19-35:26 Let them be ashamed and brought to
confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against
me.
19-36:11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove
me.
19-37:1 Fret not thyself because of
evildoers, neither be thou envious against the
workers of iniquity.
19-37:12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his
teeth.
19-38:16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they
should rejoice over me: when my foot
slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
19-41:4 I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
19-41:7 All that hate me whisper together against me:
against me do they devise my hurt.
19-41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in
whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
19-43:1 Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
19-44:5 Through thee will we push down our
enemies: through thy name will we
tread them under that rise up against us.
19-50:7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak;
O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am
God, even thy God.
19-50:20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou
slanderest thine own mother’s son.
19-51:4 Against
thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this
evil in thy sight: that thou
mightest be justified when thou speakest, and
be clear when thou judgest.
19-53:5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.
19-54:3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them.
Selah.
19-55:12 For it was not an enemy that reproached
me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did
magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:
19-55:18 He hath delivered my soul in peace
from the battle that was against me:
for there were many with me.
19-55:20 He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.
19-56:2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that
fight against me, O thou most High.
19-56:5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against
me for evil.
19-59:1 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my
God: defend me from them that rise
up against me.
19-59:3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my
soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for
my transgression, nor for my sin,
O LORD.
19-62:3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
19-65:3 Iniquities prevail against me:
as for our transgressions, thou shalt
purge them away.
19-69:12 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was
the song of the drunkards.
19-71:10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take
counsel together,
19-73:9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through
the earth.
19-73:15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold,
I should offend against
the generation of thy children.
19-74:1 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against
the sheep of thy pasture?
19-74:23 Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.
19-78:17 And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the
wilderness.
19-78:19 Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the
wilderness?
19-78:21 Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against
Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;
19-79:8 O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
19-80:4 O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt
thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
19-81:14 I should soon have subdued their
enemies, and turned my hand against their
adversaries.
19-83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
19-83:5 For they have consulted together
with one consent: they are
confederate against thee:
19-86:14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have
not set thee before them.
19-91:12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
19-92:11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
19-94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against
the workers of iniquity?
19-94:21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the
innocent blood.
19-102:8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day;
and they that are mad against me are sworn against
me.
19-105:28 He sent darkness, and made it dark;
and they rebelled not against his word.
19-106:26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
19-106:40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD
kindled against his people, insomuch that he
abhorred his own inheritance.
19-107:11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of
the most High:
19-109:2 For the mouth of the wicked and the
mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
19-109:3 They compassed me about also with
words of hatred; and fought against me without a
cause.
19-109:20 Let
this be the reward of mine
adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against
my soul.
19-119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
that I might not sin against thee.
19-119:23 Princes also did sit and speak against
me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
19-119:69 The proud have forged a lie against me:
but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
19-124:2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
19-124:3 Then they had swallowed us up quick,
when their wrath was kindled against us:
19-129:2 Many a time have they afflicted me
from my youth: yet they have not
prevailed against me.
19-137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
19-138:7 Though I walk in the midst of
trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou
shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath
of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
19-139:20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine
enemies take thy name in vain.
19-139:21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate
thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against
thee?
20-3:29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by
thee.
20-8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
20-14:35 The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
20-17:11 An evil man seeketh only rebellion:
therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against
him.
20-19:3 The foolishness of man perverteth
his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
20-20:2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso
provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
20-21:30 There
is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against
the LORD.
20-21:31 The horse is prepared against the day of
battle: but safety is of the LORD.
20-24:1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
20-24:15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against
the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
20-24:28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
20-25:18 A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
20-30:31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a
king, against whom there is no rising up.
21-4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold
cord is not quickly broken.
21-7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyful,
but in the day of adversity consider:
God also hath set the one over against the
other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.
21-8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily,
therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
21-9:14 There
was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it:
21-10:4 If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding
pacifieth great offences.
23-1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have
nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
23-2:4 And he shall judge among the
nations, and shall rebuke many people:
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into
pruninghooks: nation shall not lift
up sword against nation, neither shall they
learn war any more.
23-3:5 And the people shall be oppressed,
every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against
the ancient, and the base against the
honourable.
23-3:8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah
is fallen: because their tongue and
their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
23-3:9 The shew of their countenance doth
witness against them; and they declare their sin
as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their
soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
23-5:25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD
kindled against his people, and he hath
stretched forth his hand against them, and hath
smitten them: and the hills did
tremble, and their carcases were torn
in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his
hand is stretched out still.
23-5:30 And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.
23-7:1 And it came to pass in the days of
Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king
of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against
it, but could not prevail against it.
23-7:5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son
of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against
thee, saying,
23-7:6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach
therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:
23-9:11 Therefore the LORD shall set up the
adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his
enemies together;
23-9:21 Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim,
Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned
away, but his hand is stretched out
still.
23-10:6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge,
to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire
of the streets.
23-10:15 Shall the ax boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should
shake itself against
them that lift it up, or as if the
staff should lift up itself, as if it
were no wood.
23-10:24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of
hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and
shall lift up his staff against thee, after the
manner of Egypt.
23-10:32 As yet shall he remain at Nob that
day: he shall shake his hand against the
mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
23-13:17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in
it.
23-14:4 That thou shalt take up this proverb
against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath
the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
23-14:8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no
feller is come up against us.
23-14:22 For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off
from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.
23-19:2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against
his brother, and every one against his
neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against
kingdom.
23-19:17 And the land of Judah shall be a
terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself,
because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
23-20:1 In the year that Tartan came unto
Ashdod (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;
23-23:8 Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes,
whose traffickers are the honourable
of the earth?
23-23:11 He stretched out his hand over the
sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD
hath given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds
thereof.
23-25:4 For thou hast been a strength to the
poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a
shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
23-27:4 Fury is not in me: who would
set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would
burn them together.
23-29:3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.
23-29:7 And the multitude of all the nations
that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her,
shall be as a dream of a night vision.
23-29:8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth;
but he awaketh, and his soul is empty:
or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh,
and, behold, he is faint, and his
soul hath appetite: so shall the
multitude of all the nations be, that fight against
mount Zion.
23-31:2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
23-31:4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto
me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude
of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice,
nor abase himself for the noise of them:
so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill
thereof.
23-32:6 For the vile person will speak
villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter
error against the LORD, to make empty the soul
of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
23-36:1 Now it came to pass in the
fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib
king of Assyria came up against all the defenced
cities of Judah, and took them.
23-36:5 I say, sayest thou, (but they are
but vain words) I have counsel
and strength for war: now on whom
dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
23-36:10 And am I now come up without the LORD
against this land to destroy it? the LORD said
unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy
it.
23-37:8 So Rabshakeh returned, and found the
king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed
from Lachish.
23-37:21 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto
Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed
to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
23-37:23 Whom hast thou reproached and
blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on
high? even against
the Holy One of Israel.
23-37:28 But I know thy abode, and thy going
out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
23-37:29 Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears,
therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will
turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
23-37:33 Therefore thus saith the LORD
concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an
arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.
23-41:11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they
that strive with thee shall perish.
23-41:12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not
find them, even them that contended
with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of
nought.
23-42:13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty
man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
23-42:24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and
Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against
whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they
obedient unto his law.
23-43:27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy
teachers have transgressed against me.
23-45:24 Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even
to him shall men come; and all
that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
23-54:15 Behold, they shall surely gather
together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
23-54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against
thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is
the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
23-57:4 Against
whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make
ye a wide mouth, and draw out the
tongue? are ye not children of
transgression, a seed of falsehood,
23-59:12 For our transgressions are multiplied
before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
23-59:13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God,
speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of
falsehood.
23-59:19 So shall they fear the name of the
LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy
shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
23-63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy
Spirit: therefore he was turned to
be their enemy, and he fought against them.
23-66:24 And they shall go forth, and look
upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against
me: for their worm shall not die,
neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all
flesh.
24-1:15 For, lo, I will call all the
families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and
they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem,
and against all the walls thereof round about,
and against all the cities of Judah.
24-1:16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have
forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works
of their own hands.
24-1:18 For, behold, I have made thee this
day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against
the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof,
against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
24-1:19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
24-2:8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the
law knew me not: the pastors also
transgressed against me, and the prophets
prophesied by Baal, and walked after things
that do not profit.
24-2:29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye
all have transgressed against me, saith the
LORD.
24-3:13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity,
that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy
God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and
ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
24-3:25 We lie down in our shame, and our
confusion covereth us: for we have
sinned against the LORD our God, we and our
fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of
the LORD our God.
24-4:12 Even
a full wind from those places shall
come unto me: now also will I give
sentence against them.
24-4:16 Make ye mention to the nations;
behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country,
and give out their voice against the cities of
Judah.
24-4:17 As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been
rebellious against me, saith the LORD.
24-5:11 For the house of Israel and the
house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against
me, saith the LORD.
24-6:3 The shepherds with their flocks
shall come unto her; they shall pitch their
tents against her round about; they shall
feed every one in his place.
24-6:4 Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto
us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
24-6:6 For thus hath the LORD of hosts
said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against
Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is
wholly oppression in the midst of her.
24-6:23 They shall lay hold on bow and spear;
they are cruel, and have no mercy;
their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as
men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
24-8:14 Why do we sit still? assemble
yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent
there: for the LORD our God hath put
us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
24-8:18 When
I would comfort myself against sorrow, my
heart is faint in me.
24-11:17 For the LORD of hosts, that planted
thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the
evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering
incense unto Baal.
24-11:19 But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I
knew not that they had devised devices against
me, saying, Let us destroy the tree
with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living,
that his name may be no more remembered.
24-12:8 Mine heritage is unto me as a lion
in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.
24-12:9 Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled
bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the
field, come to devour.
24-12:14 Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the
inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck
them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.
24-13:14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons
together, saith the LORD: I will not
pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
24-14:7 O LORD, though our iniquities
testify against us, do thou it for thy name’s sake:
for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against
thee.
24-14:20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our
wickedness, and the iniquity of our
fathers: for we have sinned against thee.
24-15:6 Thou hast forsaken me, saith the
LORD, thou art gone backward:
therefore will I stretch out my hand against
thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.
24-15:8 Their widows are increased to me
above the sand of the seas: I have
brought upon them against the mother of the
young men a spoiler at noonday: I
have caused him to fall upon it
suddenly, and terrors upon the city.
24-15:20 And I will make thee unto this people
a fenced brasen wall: and they shall
fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee:
for I am with thee to save thee and
to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
24-16:10 And it shall come to pass, when thou
shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore
hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against
us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?
24-18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil,
I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
24-18:11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men
of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD;
Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a
device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and
your doings good.
24-18:18 Then said they, Come, and let us
devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law
shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from
the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give
heed to any of his words.
24-18:23 Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their
counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their
iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown
before thee; deal thus with them in
the time of thine anger.
24-19:15 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God
of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the
evil that I have pronounced against it, because
they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.
24-20:10 For I heard the defaming of many,
fear on every side. Report, say they, and
we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed,
and we shall prevail against him, and we shall
take our revenge on him.
24-21:2 Enquire, I pray thee, of the LORD
for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against
us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous
works, that he may go up from us.
24-21:4 Thus saith the LORD God of Israel;
Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against
the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without
the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
24-21:5 And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a
strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.
24-21:10 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith
the LORD: it shall be given into the
hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
24-21:13 Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the
valley, and rock of the plain, saith
the LORD; which say, Who shall come down against
us? or who shall enter into our habitations?
24-22:7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice
cedars, and cast them into the fire.
24-23:2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of
Israel against the pastors that feed my people;
Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the
evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
24-23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against
the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
24-23:31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the
LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
24-23:32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false
dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their
lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this
people at all, saith the LORD.
24-25:9 Behold, I will send and take all the
families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon,
my servant, and will bring them against this
land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will
utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and
perpetual desolations.
24-25:13 And I will bring upon that land all
my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book,
which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the
nations.
24-25:30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The
LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he
shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that
tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
24-26:9 Why hast thou prophesied in the name
of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be
desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
24-26:11 Then spake the priests and the
prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied
against this city, as ye have heard with your
ears.
24-26:12 Then spake Jeremiah unto all the
princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against
this city all the words that ye have heard.
24-26:13 Therefore now amend your ways and
your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent
him of the evil that he hath pronounced against
you.
24-26:19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all
Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD,
and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.
24-26:20 And there was also a man that
prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of
Kirjathjearim, who prophesied against this city
and against this land according to all the words
of Jeremiah:
24-27:13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people,
by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of
Babylon?
24-28:8 The prophets that have been before
me and before thee of old prophesied both against
many countries, and against great kingdoms, of
war, and of evil, and of pestilence.
24-28:16 Therefore thus saith the LORD;
Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD.
24-29:32 Therefore thus saith the LORD;
Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall
he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he
hath taught rebellion against the LORD.
24-31:20 Is
Ephraim my dear son? is he a
pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I
do earnestly remember him still:
therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him,
saith the LORD.
24-31:39 And the measuring line shall yet go
forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and
shall compass about to Goath.
24-32:24 Behold the mounts, they are come unto
the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that
fight against it, because of the sword, and of
the famine, and of the pestilence:
and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
24-32:29 And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this
city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense
unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to
anger.
24-33:8 And I will cleanse them from all
their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against
me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and
whereby they have transgressed against me.
24-34:1 The word which came unto Jeremiah
from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all
the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against
all the cities thereof, saying,
24-34:7 When the king of Babylon’s army
fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against
Azekah: for these defenced cities
remained of the cities of Judah.
24-34:22 Behold, I will command, saith the
LORD, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a
desolation without an inhabitant.
24-35:17 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts,
the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants
of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against
them: because I have spoken unto
them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
24-36:2 Take thee a roll of a book, and
write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against
Judah, and against all the nations, from the day
I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
24-36:7 It may be they will present their
supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
24-36:31 And I will punish him and his seed
and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have
pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.
24-37:8 And the Chaldeans shall come again,
and fight against this city, and take it, and
burn it with fire.
24-37:10 For though ye had smitten the whole
army of the Chaldeans that fight against you,
and there remained but wounded men
among them, yet should they rise up
every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
24-37:18 Moreover Jeremiah said unto king
Zedekiah, What have I offended against thee, or against thy servants, or against
this people, that ye have put me in prison?
24-37:19 Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king
of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?
24-38:5 Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold,
he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against
you.
24-38:22 And, behold, all the women that are
left in the king of Judah’s house shall
be brought forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set
thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.
24-39:1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king
of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his
army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.
24-40:3 Now the LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice,
therefore this thing is come upon you.
24-43:3 But Baruch the son of Neriah setteth
thee on against us, for to deliver us into the
hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away
captives into Babylon.
24-44:7 Therefore now thus saith the LORD,
the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls,
to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave
you none to remain;
24-44:11 Therefore thus saith the LORD of
hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against
you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
24-44:23 Because ye have burned incense, and
because ye have sinned against the LORD, and
have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his
statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as
at this day.
24-44:29 And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in
this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:
24-46:1 The word of the LORD which came to
Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;
24-46:2 Against
Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt,
which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of
Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
24-46:12 The nations have heard of thy shame,
and thy cry hath filled the land:
for the mighty man hath stumbled against the
mighty, and they are fallen both
together.
24-46:22 The voice thereof shall go like a
serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against
her with axes, as hewers of wood.
24-47:1 The word of the LORD that came to
Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines,
before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.
24-47:7 How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD
hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
24-48:1 Against
Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is
spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.
24-48:2 There
shall be no more praise of Moab:
in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come,
and let us cut it off from being a
nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
24-48:26 Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit,
and he also shall be in derision.
24-48:42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath
magnified himself against the LORD.
24-49:14 I have heard a rumour from the LORD,
and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying,
Gather ye together, and come against her,
and rise up to the battle.
24-49:19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion
from the swelling of Jordan against the
habitation of the strong: but I will
suddenly make him run away from her:
and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for
who is like me? and who will appoint
me the time? and who is that shepherd
that will stand before me?
24-49:20 Therefore hear the counsel of the
LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his
purposes, that he hath purposed against the
inhabitants of Teman: Surely the
least of the flock shall draw them out:
surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
24-49:30 Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O
ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon
hath taken counsel against you, and hath
conceived a purpose against you.
24-49:34 The word of the LORD that came to
Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the
beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
24-50:1 The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and
against the land of the Chaldeans by
Jeremiah the prophet.
24-50:3 For out of the north there cometh up
a nation against her, which shall make her land
desolate, and none shall dwell therein:
they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.
24-50:7 All that found them have devoured
them: and their adversaries said, We
offend not, because they have sinned against the
LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.
24-50:9 For, lo, I will raise and cause to
come up against Babylon an assembly of great
nations from the north country: and
they shall set themselves in array against her;
from thence she shall be taken:
their arrows shall be as of a mighty
expert man; none shall return in vain.
24-50:14 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.
24-50:15 Shout against
her round about: she hath given her
hand: her foundations are fallen,
her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath
done, do unto her.
24-50:21 Go up against
the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against
the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and
utterly destroy after them, saith the LORD, and do according to all that I have
commanded thee.
24-50:24 I have laid a snare for thee, and
thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD.
24-50:26 Come against
her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.
24-50:29 Call together the archers against Babylon:
all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round
about; let none thereof escape:
recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do
unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against
the Holy One of Israel.
24-50:31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of
hosts: for thy day is come, the time
that I will visit thee.
24-50:42 They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon
horses, every one put in array, like
a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of
Babylon.
24-50:45 Therefore hear ye the counsel of the
LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and
his purposes, that he hath purposed against the
land of the Chaldeans: Surely the
least of the flock shall draw them out:
surely he shall make their habitation
desolate with them.
24-51:1 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will
raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise
up against me, a destroying wind;
24-51:2 And will send unto Babylon fanners,
that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against
her round about.
24-51:3 Against
him that bendeth let the archer bend
his bow, and against him that lifteth himself up in his brigandine: and spare ye not her young men; destroy ye utterly all her host.
24-51:5 For Israel hath not been forsaken,
nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with
sin against the Holy One of Israel.
24-51:11 Make bright the arrows; gather the
shields: the LORD hath raised up the
spirit of the kings of the Medes:
for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the
vengeance of his temple.
24-51:12 Set up the standard upon the walls of
Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD hath both devised and done
that which he spake against the inhabitants of
Babylon.
24-51:14 The LORD of hosts hath sworn by
himself, saying, Surely I will fill
thee with men, as with caterpillars; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.
24-51:25 Behold, I am against thee, O destroying
mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down
from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.
24-51:27 Set ye up a standard in the land,
blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against
her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough
caterpillars.
24-51:28 Prepare against
her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the
rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.
24-51:29 And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall
be performed against Babylon, to make the land
of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.
24-51:46 And lest your heart faint, and ye
fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.
24-51:60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the
evil that should come upon Babylon, even all
these words that are written against Babylon.
24-51:62 Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou
hast spoken against this place, to cut it off,
that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be
desolate for ever.
24-52:3 For through the anger of the LORD it
came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his
presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the
king of Babylon.
24-52:4 And it came to pass in the ninth
year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar
king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against
Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built
forts against it round about.
25-1:13 From above hath he sent fire into my
bones, and it prevaileth against them: he hath spread a net for my feet, he
hath turned me back: he hath made me
desolate and faint all the day.
25-1:15 The Lord hath trodden under foot all
my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
25-1:18 The LORD is righteous; for I have
rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and
behold my sorrow: my virgins and my
young men are gone into captivity.
25-2:3 He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand
from before the enemy, and he burned against
Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth
round about.
25-2:16 All thine enemies have opened their
mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth:
they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.
25-3:3 Surely against
me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.
25-3:5 He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
25-3:46 All our enemies have opened their
mouths against us.
25-3:60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
25-3:61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O
LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
25-3:62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against
me all the day.
25-5:22 But thou hast utterly rejected us;
thou art very wroth against us.
26-1:20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go,
they went, thither was their spirit
to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against
them: for the spirit of the living
creature was in the wheels.
26-1:21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted
up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against
them: for the spirit of the living
creature was in the wheels.
26-2:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I
send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me:
they and their fathers have transgressed against
me, even unto this very day.
26-3:8 Behold, I have made thy face strong
against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
26-3:13 I
heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one
another, and the noise of the wheels over against
them, and a noise of a great rushing.
26-4:2 And lay siege against it, and build a fort against
it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp
also against it, and set battering rams against it round
about.
26-4:3 Moreover take thou unto thee an
iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron
between thee and the city: and set
thy face against it, and it shall be besieged,
and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.
26-4:7 Therefore thou shalt set thy face
toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm shall be uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it.
26-5:8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgments in the midst of
thee in the sight of the nations.
26-6:2 Son of man, set thy face toward the
mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
26-11:4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.
26-13:2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say
thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the
LORD;
26-13:8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against
you, saith the Lord GOD.
26-13:17 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy
face against the daughters of thy people, which
prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against
them,
26-13:20 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, I am against
your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the
souls go, even the souls that ye hunt
to make them fly.
26-14:8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a
proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know
that I am the LORD.
26-14:13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I
stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof,
and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
26-15:7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them.
26-16:37 Behold, therefore I will gather all
thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto
them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
26-16:40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones,
and thrust thee through with their swords.
26-16:44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs
shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her
daughter.
26-17:15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt,
that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he
escape that doeth such things? or shall
he break the covenant, and be delivered?
26-17:20 And I will spread my net upon him,
and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead
with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me.
26-19:8 Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and
spread their net over him: he was
taken in their pit.
26-20:8 But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the
abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury
upon them, to accomplish my anger against them
in the midst of the land of Egypt.
26-20:13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which
if a man do, he shall even live in
them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted:
then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume
them.
26-20:21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled
against me:
they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them;
they polluted my sabbaths: then I
said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
26-20:27 Therefore, son of man, speak unto the
house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your
fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.
26-20:38 And I will purge out from among you
the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the
country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
26-20:46 Son of man, set thy face toward the
south, and drop thy word toward the
south, and prophesy against the forest of the
south field;
26-21:2 Son of man, set thy face toward
Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward
the holy places, and prophesy against the land
of Israel,
26-21:3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus
saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his
sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
26-21:4 Seeing then that I will cut off from
thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his
sheath against all flesh from the south to the
north:
26-21:15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their
ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.
26-21:22 At his right hand was the divination
for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift
up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering
rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.
26-21:31 And I will pour out mine indignation
upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire
of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.
26-22:3 Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord
GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and
maketh idols against herself to defile herself.
26-23:22 Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the
Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against
thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
26-23:24 And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and
with an assembly of people, which shall
set against thee buckler and shield and helmet
round about: and I will set judgment
before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.
26-23:25 And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and
thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall
be devoured by the fire.
26-24:2 Son of man, write thee the name of
the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.
26-25:2 Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;
26-25:3 And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the
word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into
captivity;
26-25:6 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because
thou hast clapped thine hands, and
stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;
26-25:12 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that
Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by
taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;
26-26:2 Son of man, because that Tyrus hath
said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:
26-26:3 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold,
I am against
thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against
thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.
26-26:8 He shall slay with the sword thy
daughters in the field: and he shall
make a fort against thee, and cast a mount against thee, and lift up the buckler against thee.
26-26:9 And he shall set engines of war against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break
down thy towers.
26-27:30 And shall cause their voice to be
heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and
shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:
26-28:7 Behold, therefore I will bring
strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against
the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.
26-28:21 Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against
it,
26-28:22 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, I am against
thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am
the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be
sanctified in her.
26-29:2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against
all Egypt:
26-29:3 Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon
that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
26-29:10 Behold, therefore I am against
thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make
the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate,
from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.
26-29:18 Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of
Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against
Tyrus: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service
that he had served against it:
26-29:20 I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour wherewith he served against it, because they wrought for me, saith the
Lord GOD.
26-30:11 He and his people with him, the
terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.
26-30:22 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, I am against
Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was
broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.
26-33:30 Also, thou son of man, the children
of thy people still are talking against thee by
the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one
to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh
forth from the LORD.
26-34:2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say
unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not
the shepherds feed the flocks?
26-34:10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against
the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to
cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any
more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat
for them.
26-35:2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
26-35:3 And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.
26-35:11 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine
anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them,
when I have judged thee.
26-35:12 And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid
desolate, they are given us to consume.
26-35:13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me:
I have heard them.
26-36:2 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the
enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the
ancient high places are ours in possession:
26-36:5 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against
the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea,
which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to
cast it out for a prey.
26-38:2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of
Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
26-38:3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, I am against
thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
26-38:8 After many days thou shalt be
visited: in the latter years thou
shalt come into the land that is brought
back from the sword, and is gathered
out of many people, against the mountains of
Israel, which have been always waste:
but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of
them.
26-38:16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the
land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I
shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
26-38:17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old
time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
26-38:18 And it shall come to pass at the same
time when Gog shall come against the land of
Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my
fury shall come up in my face.
26-38:21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the
Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be
against his brother.
26-38:22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will
rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and
great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
26-39:1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy
against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, I am against
thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
26-39:23 And the heathen shall know that the
house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against
me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their
enemies: so fell they all by the
sword.
26-39:26 After that they have borne their
shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and
none made them afraid.
26-40:13 He measured then the gate from the
roof of one little chamber to the
roof of another: the breadth was five and twenty cubits, door against door.
26-40:18 And the pavement by the side of the
gates over against the length of the gates was the lower pavement.
26-40:23 And the gate of the inner court was over against
the gate toward the north, and toward the east; and he measured from gate to
gate an hundred cubits.
26-41:15 And he measured the length of the
building over against the separate place which was behind it, and the galleries thereof
on the one side and on the other side, an hundred cubits, with the inner
temple, and the porches of the court;
26-41:16 The door posts, and the narrow
windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled with wood round about, and
from the ground up to the windows, and the windows were covered;
26-42:1 Then he brought me forth into the
utter court, the way toward the north:
and he brought me into the chamber that was
over against the separate place, and which was before the building toward the
north.
26-42:3 Over against
the twenty cubits which were for the inner court, and over against the pavement which was for the utter court, was gallery
against gallery in three stories.
26-42:7 And the wall that was without over against the chambers, toward the utter court on the forepart of the
chambers, the length thereof was fifty
cubits.
26-42:10 The chambers were in the thickness of the wall of the court toward the east,
over against the separate place, and over against the building.
26-44:12 Because they ministered unto them
before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity;
therefore have I lifted up mine hand against
them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity.
26-45:6 And ye shall appoint the possession
of the city five thousand broad, and five and twenty thousand long, over against the oblation of the holy portion: it shall be for
the whole house of Israel.
26-45:7 And a portion shall be for the prince on the one side and on the other
side of the oblation of the holy portion,
and of the possession of the city, before the oblation of the holy portion, and before the possession of
the city, from the west side westward, and from the east side eastward: and the length shall be over against one of the
portions, from the west border unto the east border.
26-46:9 But when the people of the land
shall come before the LORD in the solemn feasts, he that entereth in by the way
of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he
that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the
north gate: he shall not return by
the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.
26-47:20 The west side also shall be the great sea from the border,
till a man come over against Hamath. This is the west side.
26-48:13 And over against
the border of the priests the Levites shall
have five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth: all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.
26-48:15 And the five thousand, that are left
in the breadth over against the five and twenty
thousand, shall be a profane place for
the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs:
and the city shall be in the midst thereof.
26-48:18 And the residue in length over against the oblation of the holy portion shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: and it shall be over against the oblation of the holy portion; and the increase thereof shall be for food unto them that
serve the city.
26-48:21 And the residue shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the
holy oblation, and of the possession of the city, over against
the five and twenty thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and
westward over against the five and twenty
thousand toward the west border, over against
the portions for the prince: and it
shall be the holy oblation; and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the midst thereof.
27-3:19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of
fury, and the form of his visage was changed against
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that
they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be
heated.
27-3:29 Therefore I make a decree, That
every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that
can deliver after this sort.
27-5:5 In the same hour came forth fingers
of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the
candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand
that wrote.
27-5:6 Then the king’s countenance was
changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were
loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
27-5:23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the
vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy
concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver,
and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
27-6:4 Then the presidents and princes
sought to find occasion against Daniel
concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch
as he was faithful, neither was there
any error or fault found in him.
27-6:5 Then said these men, We shall not
find any occasion against this Daniel, except we
find it against
him concerning the law of his God.
27-7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war
with the saints, and prevailed against them;
27-7:25 And he shall speak great words against
the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to
change times and laws: and they
shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
27-8:7 And I saw him come close unto the ram,
and he was moved with choler against him, and
smote the ram, and brake his two horns:
and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to
the ground, and stamped upon him:
and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
27-8:12 And an host was given him against
the daily sacrifice by reason of
transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and
prospered.
27-8:25 And through his policy also he shall
cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken
without hand.
27-9:7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us
confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants
of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that
are near, and that are far off,
through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their
trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
27-9:8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to
our fathers, because we have sinned against
thee.
27-9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though
we have rebelled against him;
27-9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed
thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the
curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is
written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
27-9:12 And he hath confirmed his words,
which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us
a great evil: for under the whole
heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
27-11:2 And now will I shew thee the truth.
Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be
far richer than they all: and by his strength through his
riches he shall stir up all against the realm of
Grecia.
27-11:7 But out of a branch of her roots
shall one stand up in his estate,
which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of
the north, and shall deal against them, and shall
prevail:
27-11:14 And in those times there shall many
stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall
exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.
27-11:16 But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and
none shall stand before him: and he
shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
27-11:24 He shall enter peaceably even upon
the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he
shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall
forecast his devices against the strong holds,
even for a time.
27-11:25 And he shall stir up his power and
his courage against the king of the south with a
great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very
great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against
him.
27-11:28 Then shall he return into his land
with great riches; and his heart shall be
against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
27-11:30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him:
therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with
them that forsake the holy covenant.
27-11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God
shall be strong, and do exploits.
27-11:36 And the king shall do according to
his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and
shall speak marvellous things against the God of
gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be
done.
27-11:40 And at the time of the end shall the
king of the south push at him: and
the king of the north shall come against him
like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he
shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
28-4:7 As they were increased, so they
sinned against me: therefore will I change
their glory into shame.
28-5:7 They have dealt treacherously against the LORD:
for they have begotten strange children:
now shall a month devour them with their portions.
28-6:7 But they like men have transgressed
the covenant: there have they dealt
treacherously against me.
28-7:13 Woe unto them! for they have fled
from me: destruction unto them!
because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they
have spoken lies against me.
28-7:14 And they have not cried unto me with
their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.
28-7:15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they
imagine mischief against me.
28-8:1 Set
the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall
come as an eagle against the house of the
LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
28-8:5 Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them:
how long will it be ere they attain
to innocency?
28-10:9 O Israel, thou hast sinned from the
days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake
them.
28-10:10 It
is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be
gathered against them, when they shall bind
themselves in their two furrows.
28-13:16 Samaria shall become desolate; for
she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in
pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
29-3:19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and
Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah,
because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
30-1:8 And I will cut off the inhabitant
from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn
mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord
GOD.
30-3:1 Hear this word that the LORD hath
spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the
land of Egypt, saying,
30-5:1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even
a lamentation, O house of Israel.
30-5:9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
30-6:14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the
LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of
Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
30-7:9 And the high places of Isaac shall
be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise
against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
30-7:10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel
sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his
words.
30-7:16 Now therefore hear thou the word of
the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.
31-1:1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith
the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an
ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
31-1:7 All the men of thy confederacy have
brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee
have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they
that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none
understanding in him.
31-1:10 For thy violence against thy brother
Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
32-1:2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great
city, and cry against it; for their wickedness
is come up before me.
32-1:13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to
bring it to the land; but they could
not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous
against them.
33-1:2 Hear, all ye people; hearken, O
earth, and all that therein is: and
let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the
Lord from his holy temple.
33-2:3 Therefore thus saith the LORD;
Behold, against this family do I devise an evil,
from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
33-2:4 In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my
people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided
our fields.
33-3:5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the
prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace;
and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
33-4:3 And he shall judge among many
people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords
into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against
nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
33-4:11 Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let
our eye look upon Zion.
33-5:1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter
of troops: he hath laid siege against us:
they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
33-5:5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our
palaces, then shall we raise against him seven
shepherds, and eight principal men.
33-6:3 O my people, what have I done unto
thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against
me.
33-7:6 For the son dishonoureth the
father, the daughter riseth up against her
mother, the daughter in law against her mother
in law; a man’s enemies are the men
of his own house.
33-7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy:
when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
33-7:9 I will bear the indignation of the
LORD, because I have sinned against him, until
he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
34-1:9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the
second time.
34-1:11 There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against
the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
34-2:4 The chariots shall rage in the
streets, they shall justle one against another
in the broad ways: they shall seem
like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
34-2:13 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of
hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour
thy young lions: and I will cut off
thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be
heard.
34-3:5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of
hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the
nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
35-2:6 Shall not all these take up a
parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to
him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
35-2:10 Thou hast consulted shame to thy
house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.
35-3:8 Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? was thine anger against the rivers? was thy wrath against
the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses and thy chariots of salvation?
36-1:16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
36-1:17 And I will bring distress upon men,
that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD:
and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
36-2:5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea
coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land
of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no
inhabitant.
36-2:8 I have heard the reproach of Moab,
and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my
people, and magnified themselves against their border.
36-2:10 This shall they have for their pride,
because they have reproached and magnified themselves
against the people of the LORD of hosts.
36-2:13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make
Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a
wilderness.
36-3:11 In that day shalt thou not be
ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me:
for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy
pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
38-1:12 Then the angel of the LORD answered
and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on
the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had
indignation these threescore and ten years?
38-7:10 And oppress not the widow, nor the
fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
38-8:10 For before these days there was no
hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the
affliction: for I set all men every
one against his neighbour.
38-8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in
your hearts against his neighbour; and love no
false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.
38-9:13 When I have bent Judah for me,
filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword
of a mighty man.
38-10:3 Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited
his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the
battle.
38-12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup
of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege
both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
38-12:3 And in that day will I make
Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people:
all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the
people of the earth be gathered together against
it.
38-12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents
of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the
inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves
against Judah.
38-12:9 And it shall come to pass in that
day, that I will seek to destroy all
the nations that come against Jerusalem.
38-13:7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against
the man that is my fellow, saith the
LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd,
and the sheep shall be scattered:
and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
38-14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken,
and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go
forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from
the city.
38-14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and
fight against those nations, as when he fought
in the day of battle.
38-14:12 And this shall be the plague
wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away
while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their
holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
38-14:13 And it shall come to pass in that
day, that a great tumult from the
LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his
neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against
the hand of his neighbour.
38-14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the
nations which came against Jerusalem shall even
go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the
feast of tabernacles.
39-1:4 Whereas Edom saith, We are
impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the
LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call
them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against
whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.
39-2:10 Have we not all one father? hath not
one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our
fathers?
39-2:14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the
LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
39-2:15 And did not he make one? Yet had he
the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed.
Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
39-3:5 And I will come near to you to
judgment; and I will be a swift witness against
the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against
those that oppress the hireling in his wages,
the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith
the LORD of hosts.
39-3:13 Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we
spoken so much against thee?
40-4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the
Son of God, cast thyself down: for
it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy
foot against a stone.
40-5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
40-5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to
the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
40-10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them
power against
unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and
all manner of disease.
40-10:18 And ye shall be brought before
governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against
them and the Gentiles.
40-10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the
brother to death, and the father the child:
and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put
to death.
40-10:35 For I am come to set a man at
variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
40-12:14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held
a council against him, how they might destroy
him.
40-12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and
said unto them, Every kingdom divided against
itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
40-12:26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is
divided against himself; how shall then his
kingdom stand?
40-12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me
scattereth abroad.
40-12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner
of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy
Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
40-12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him,
neither in this world, neither in the world
to come.
40-16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou
art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell
shall not prevail against it.
40-18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall
trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault
between thee and him alone: if he
shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
40-18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said,
Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me,
and I forgive him? till seven times?

40-20:24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
40-21:2 Saying unto them, Go into the
village over against you, and straightway ye
shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her:
loose them, and bring them unto me.
40-23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men:
for ye neither go in yourselves, neither
suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
40-24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against
kingdom: and there shall be famines,
and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
40-26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the
multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief
with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the
temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
40-26:59 Now the chief priests, and elders,
and all the council, sought false witness against
Jesus, to put him to death;
40-26:62 And the high priest arose, and said
unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is
it which these witness against thee?
40-27:1 When the morning was come, all the
chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against
Jesus to put him to death:
40-27:13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest
thou not how many things they witness against
thee?
40-27:61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the
other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
41-3:6 And the Pharisees went forth, and
straightway took counsel with the Herodians against
him, how they might destroy him.
41-3:24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
41-3:25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
41-3:26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but
hath an end.
41-3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is
in danger of eternal damnation:
41-6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you,
nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a
testimony against them. Verily I say unto you,
It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than
for that city.
41-6:19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could
not:
41-9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
41-10:11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever
shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
41-11:2 And saith unto them, Go your way
into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it,
ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
41-11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive,
if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses.
41-12:12 And they sought to lay hold on him,
but feared the people: for they knew
that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their
way.
41-12:41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast
money into the treasury: and many
that were rich cast in much.
41-13:3 And as he sat upon the mount of
Olives over against the temple, Peter and James
and John and Andrew asked him privately,
41-13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against
kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes
in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the
beginnings of sorrows.
41-13:9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to
councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for
a testimony against them.
41-13:12 Now the brother shall betray the
brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents,
and shall cause them to be put to death.
41-14:5 For it might have been sold for more
than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
41-14:48 And Jesus answered and said unto
them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with
swords and with staves to take me?
41-14:55 And the chief priests and all the
council sought for witness against Jesus to put
him to death; and found none.
41-14:56 For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.
41-14:57 And there arose certain, and bare
false witness against him, saying,
41-14:60 And the high priest stood up in the
midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
41-15:4 And Pilate asked him again, saying,
Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.

over against him, saw that he so cried out, and
gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
42-2:34 And Simeon blessed them, and said
unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is
set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall
be spoken against;
42-4:11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy
foot against a stone.
42-5:30 But their scribes and Pharisees
murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do
ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
42-6:7 And the scribes and Pharisees
watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an
accusation against him.
42-6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not,
is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately
it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
42-7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers
rejected the counsel of God against themselves,
being not baptized of him.
42-8:26 And they arrived at the country of
the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
42-9:5 And whosoever will not receive you,
when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a
testimony against them.
42-9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is
for us.
42-10:11 Even the very dust of your city,
which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this,
that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
42-11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said
unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself
is brought to desolation; and a house divided
against a house falleth.
42-11:18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because
ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
42-11:23 He that is not with me is against me:
and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
42-12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
42-12:52 For from henceforth there shall be
five in one house divided, three against two,
and two against three.
42-12:53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against
the father; the mother against the daughter, and
the daughter against the mother; the mother in
law against her daughter in law, and the
daughter in law against her mother in law.
42-14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and
consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
42-15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and
will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against
heaven, and before thee,
42-15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I
have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight,
and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
42-17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive
him.
42-17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in
a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
42-19:30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in
the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
42-20:19 And the chief priests and the scribes
the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken
this parable against them.
42-21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall
rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
42-22:52 Then Jesus said unto the chief
priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be
ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and
staves?
42-22:53 When I was daily with you in the
temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power
of darkness.
42-22:65 And many other things blasphemously
spake they against him.
43-12:7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against
the day of my burying hath she kept this.
43-13:18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be
fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
43-13:29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said
unto him, Buy those things that we
have need of against the feast; or, that he
should give something to the poor.
43-18:29 Pilate then went out unto them, and
said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
43-19:11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no
power at all against
me, except it were given thee from above:
therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
43-19:12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to
release him: but the Jews cried out,
saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king
speaketh against Caesar.
44-4:14 And beholding the man which was
healed standing with them, they could say nothing against
it.
44-4:26 The kings of the earth stood up, and
the rulers were gathered together against the
Lord, and against his Christ.
44-4:27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed,
both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel,
were gathered together,
44-5:39 But if it be of God, ye cannot
overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against
God.
44-6:1 And in those days, when the number
of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were
neglected in the daily ministration.
44-6:11 Then they suborned men, which said,
We have heard him speak blasphemous words against
Moses, and against
God.
44-6:13 And set up false witnesses, which
said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against
this holy place, and the law:
44-8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death.
And at that time there was a great persecution against
the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad
throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
44-9:1 And Saul, yet breathing out
threatenings and slaughter against the disciples
of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
44-9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord?
And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to
kick against the pricks.
44-9:29 And he spake boldly in the name of
the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the
Grecians: but they went about to
slay him.
44-13:45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes,
they were filled with envy, and spake against
those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
44-13:50 But the Jews stirred up the devout
and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of
their coasts.
44-13:51 But they shook off the dust of their
feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
44-14:2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up
the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against
the brethren.
44-16:22 And the multitude rose up together against them:
and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
44-18:12 And when Gallio was the deputy of
Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against
Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
44-19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit
was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against
them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
44-19:36 Seeing then that these things cannot
be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to
do nothing rashly.
44-19:38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the
craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against
any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.
44-20:15 And we sailed thence, and came the
next day over against Chios; and the next day
we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.
44-21:28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against
the people, and the law, and this place:
and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy
place.
44-22:24 The chief captain commanded him to be
brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that
he might know wherefore they cried so against
him.
44-23:9 And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find
no evil in this man: but if a spirit
or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against
God.
44-23:30 And when it was told me how that the
Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to
his accusers also to say before thee what they
had against him. Farewell.
44-24:1 And after five days Ananias the high
priest descended with the elders, and with
a certain orator named Tertullus,
who informed the governor against Paul.
44-24:19 Who ought to have been here before
thee, and object, if they had ought against me.
44-25:2 Then the high priest and the chief
of the Jews informed him against Paul, and
besought him,
44-25:3 And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem,
laying wait in the way to kill him.
44-25:7 And when he was come, the Jews which
came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous
complaints against Paul, which they could not
prove.
44-25:8 While he answered for himself,
Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against
Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.
44-25:15 About whom, when I was at Jerusalem,
the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, desiring to have judgment
against him.
44-25:16 To whom I answered, It is not the
manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused
have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself
concerning the crime laid against him.
44-25:18 Against
whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as
I supposed:
44-25:19 But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one
Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.
44-25:27 For it seemeth to me unreasonable to
send a prisoner, and not withal to signify the crimes laid against him.
44-26:10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up
in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were
put to death, I gave my voice against them.
44-26:11 And I punished them oft in every
synagogue, and compelled them to
blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against
them, I persecuted them even unto
strange cities.
44-26:14 And when we were all fallen to the
earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul,
Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard
for thee to kick against the pricks.
44-27:7 And when we had sailed slowly many
days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus,
the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against
Salmone;
44-27:14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
44-28:17 And it came to pass, that after three
days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed
nothing against the people, or customs of our
fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the
Romans.
44-28:19 But when the Jews spake against it, I
was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation
of.
44-28:22 But we desire to hear of thee what
thou thinkest: for as concerning
this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
45-1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed
from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
45-1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto
vile affections: for even their
women did change the natural use into that which is against
nature:
45-2:2 But we are sure that the judgment
of God is according to truth against them which commit
such things.
45-2:5 But after thy hardness and
impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against
the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
45-4:18 Who against
hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations,
according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
45-7:23 But I see another law in my members,
warring against the law of my mind, and bringing
me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
45-8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against
God: for it is not subject to the
law of God, neither indeed can be.
45-8:31 What shall we then say to these
things? If God be for us, who can be against
us?
45-9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that
repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say
to him that formed it, Why hast thou
made me thus?
45-11:2 God hath not cast away his people
which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh
intercession to God against Israel, saying,
45-11:18 Boast not against
the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
46-4:6 And these things, brethren, I have
in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos
for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up
for one against another.
46-6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not
before the saints?
46-6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a
man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
46-8:12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience,
ye sin against Christ.
46-9:17 For if I do this thing willingly, I
have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
47-10:2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence,
wherewith I think to be bold against some, which
think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
47-10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every
high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of
Christ;
47-13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
48-3:21 Is
the law then against the promises of God?
God forbid: for if there had been a
law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by
the law.
48-5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh:
and these are contrary the one to the other:
so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
48-5:23 Meekness, temperance: against
such there is no law.
49-6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that
ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil.
49-6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
51-2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of
ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
51-3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving
one another, if any man have a quarrel against
any: even as Christ forgave you, so
also do ye.
51-3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against
them.
54-5:11 But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax
wanton against Christ, they will marry;
54-5:19 Against
an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
54-6:19 Laying up in store for themselves a
good foundation against the time to come, that
they may lay hold on eternal life.
55-1:12 For the which cause I also suffer
these things: nevertheless I am not
ashamed: for I know whom I have
believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed
unto him against that day.
58-12:3 For consider him that endured such
contradiction of sinners against himself, lest
ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
58-12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood,
striving against sin.
59-2:13 For he shall have judgment without
mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against
judgment.
59-3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife
in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against
the truth.
59-5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered;
and the rust of them shall be a witness against
you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together
for the last days.
59-5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the
door.
60-2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain
from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
60-2:12 Having your conversation honest
among the Gentiles: that, whereas
they speak against you as evildoers, they may by
your good works, which they shall
behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
60-3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against
them that do evil.
61-2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in
power and might, bring not railing accusation against
them before the Lord.
61-3:7 But the heavens and the earth,
which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly
men.
64-1:10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember
his deeds which he doeth, prating against us
with malicious words: and not
content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth
them that would, and casteth them out
of the church.
65-1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when
contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord
rebuke thee.
65-1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to
convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they
have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against
him.
66-2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against
thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
66-2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold
the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the
children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit
fornication.
66-2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto
thee quickly, and will fight against them with
the sword of my mouth.
66-2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman
Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants
to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
66-11:7 And when they shall have finished
their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make
war against them, and shall overcome them, and
kill them.
66-12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his
angels,
66-13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy
against God, to blaspheme his name, and his
tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
66-19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of
the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
