06-7:2 And Joshua sent men from Jericho to
Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto
them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.
06-7:3 And they returned to Joshua, and
said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three
thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make
not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.
06-7:4 So there went up thither of the
people about three thousand men: and
they fled before the men of Ai.
06-7:5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and
six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in
the going down: wherefore the hearts
of the people melted, and became as water.
06-8:1 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear
not, neither be thou dismayed: take
all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have
given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:
06-8:2 And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto
Jericho and her king: only the spoil
thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city
behind it.
06-8:3 So Joshua arose, and all the people
of war, to go up against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand
mighty men of valour, and sent them away by night.
06-8:9 Joshua therefore sent them forth: and they went to lie in ambush, and
abode between Bethel and Ai, on the
west side of Ai: but Joshua lodged that night among
the people.
06-8:10 And Joshua rose up early in the
morning, and numbered the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel,
before the people to Ai.
06-8:11 And all the people, even the people of war that were with him, went up, and drew nigh,
and came before the city, and pitched on the north side of Ai: now there was a valley
between them and Ai.
06-8:12 And he took about five thousand men,
and set them to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city.
06-8:14 And it came to pass, when the king
of Ai saw it, that they hasted and rose up early, and the men of the city went
out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed,
before the plain; but he wist not that there
were liers in ambush against him behind the city.
06-8:16 And all the people that were in Ai were called together to pursue after them: and they pursued after Joshua, and
were drawn away from the city.
06-8:17 And there was not a man left in Ai or Bethel, that went not out
after Israel: and they left the city
open, and pursued after Israel.
06-8:18 And the LORD said unto Joshua,
Stretch out the spear that is in thy
hand toward Ai; for I
will give it into thine hand. And Joshua stretched out the spear that he had in his hand toward the city.
06-8:20 And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw,
and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power
to flee this way or that way: and
the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers.
06-8:21 And when Joshua and all Israel saw
that the ambush had taken the city, and that the smoke of the city ascended,
then they turned again, and slew the men of Ai.
06-8:23 And the king of Ai they took alive, and brought him
to Joshua.
06-8:24 And it came to pass, when Israel had
made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased
them, and when they were all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they were
consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the edge of the sword.
06-8:25 And so it was, that all that
fell that day, both of men and women, were
twelve thousand, even all the men
of Ai.
06-8:26 For Joshua drew not his hand back,
wherewith he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the
inhabitants of Ai.
06-8:28 And Joshua burnt Ai, and made it an heap for ever, even a desolation unto this day.
06-8:29 And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until
eventide: and as soon as the sun was
down, Joshua commanded that they should take his carcase down from the tree,
and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a great
heap of stones, that remaineth unto
this day.
06-9:3 And when the inhabitants of Gibeon
heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai,
06-10:1 Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec
king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to
Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had
made peace with Israel, and were among them;
06-10:2 That they feared greatly, because
Gibeon was a great city, as one of
the royal cities, and because it was greater
than Ai, and all
the men thereof were mighty.
06-12:9 The king of Jericho, one; the king
of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;
15-2:28 The men
of Bethel and Ai, two
hundred twenty and three.
16-7:32 The men
of Bethel and Ai, an
hundred twenty and three.
24-49:3 Howl, O
Heshbon, for Ai is
spoiled: cry, ye daughters of
Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for
their king shall go into captivity, and his
priests and his princes together.

king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth;
and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel
the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
10-21:10 And Rizpah

the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.

01-GENESIS
01-1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness: and let
them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
01-1:28 And God blessed them, and God said
unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of
the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
01-1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and
to every fowl of the air, and to every thing
that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there
is life, I have given every green
herb for meat: and it was so.
01-2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God
formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air;
and brought them unto Adam to see
what he would call them: and
whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
01-2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle,
and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast
of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
01-6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy
man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and
the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air;
for it repenteth me that I have made them.
01-7:3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed
alive upon the face of all the earth.
01-9:2 And the fear of you and the dread
of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand
are they delivered.
05-4:17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged
fowl that flieth in the air,
05-28:26 And thy carcase shall be meat unto
all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the
earth, and no man shall fray them away.
09-17:44 And the Philistine said to David,
Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.
09-17:46 This day will the LORD deliver thee
into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will
give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the
air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that
all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
10-21:10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took
sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest
until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of
the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts
of the field by night.
11-14:11 Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the
city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the
air eat:
for the LORD hath spoken it.
11-16:4 Him that dieth of Baasha in the city
shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of
the air eat.
11-21:24 Him that dieth of Ahab in the city
the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.
18-12:7 But ask now the beasts, and they
shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and
they shall tell thee:
18-28:21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all
living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
18-41:16 One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.
19-8:8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
20-30:19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a
ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.
21-10:20 Curse not the king, no not in thy
thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry
the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.
40-6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for
they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly
Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
40-8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes
have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not
where to lay his head.
40-13:32 Which indeed is the least of all
seeds: but when it is grown, it is
the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
41-4:4 And it came to pass, as he sowed,
some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air
came and devoured it up.
41-4:32 But when it is sown, it groweth up,
and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that
the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow
of it.
42-8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way
side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air
devoured it.
42-9:58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have
holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
42-13:19 It is like a grain of mustard seed,
which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great
tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the
branches of it.
44-10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted
beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
44-11:6 Upon the which when I had fastened
mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild
beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
44-22:23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
46-9:26 I therefore so run, not as
uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
46-14:9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by
the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken?
for ye shall speak into the air.
49-2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked
according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of
the air, the spirit that now worketh in the
children of disobedience:
52-4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the
Lord.
66-9:2 And he opened the bottomless pit;
and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and
the sun and the air were darkened by reason of
the smoke of the pit.
66-16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his
vial into the air; and there came a great voice out
of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
