04-22:41 And it came to pass on the
morrow, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that thence he might see the
utmost part of the people.
07-2:13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and
Ashtaroth.
07-6:25 And it came to pass the same
night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years
old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:
07-6:28 And when the men of the city arose early in the
morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was
offered upon the altar that was built.
07-6:30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out
thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and
because he hath cut down the grove that was
by it.
07-6:31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will
ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let
him be put to death whilst it is yet morning:
if he be a god, let him plead for
himself, because one hath cast down
his altar.
07-6:32 Therefore on that
day he called him Jerubbaal, saying,
Let Baal plead
against him, because he hath thrown down his altar.
11-16:31 And it came to pass, as if it had
been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter
of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went
and served Baal, and worshipped
him.
11-16:32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which
he had built in Samaria.
11-18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four
hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at
Jezebel’s table.
11-18:21 And Elijah came unto all the
people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be
God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow
him. And the people answered him not a word.
11-18:25 And Elijah said unto the prophets
of Baal,
Choose you one bullock for yourselves,
and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your
gods, but put no fire under.
11-18:26 And they took the bullock which
was given them, and they dressed it, and
called on the name of Baal from
morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there
was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which
was made.
11-18:40 And Elijah said unto them, Take
the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to
the brook Kishon, and slew them there.
11-19:18 Yet I have left me
seven thousand in Israel, all the knees
which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
11-22:53 For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked
to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
12-3:2 And he wrought evil in the sight
of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.
12-10:18 And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said
unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but
Jehu shall serve him much.
12-10:19 Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all
his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great
sacrifice to do to Baal;
whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilly, to the intent that he
might destroy the worshippers of Baal.
12-10:20 And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And
they proclaimed it.
12-10:21 And Jehu sent through all Israel:
and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that
there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and
the house of Baal was full from one end to another.
12-10:22 And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers
of Baal. And he
brought them forth vestments.
12-10:23 And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into
the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal,
Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD,
but the worshippers of Baal only.
12-10:25 And it came to pass, as soon as
he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And
they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast
them out, and went to the city of the
house of Baal.
12-10:26 And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and
burned them.
12-10:27 And they brake down the image of Baal, and
brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.
12-10:28 Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
12-11:18 And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and
brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and
slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed
officers over the house of the LORD.
12-17:16 And they left all the commandments of the LORD their
God, and made them molten images, even two
calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
12-21:3 For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah
his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab
king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
12-23:4 And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and
the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth
out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and
for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without
Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.
12-23:5 And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings
of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of
Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense
unto Baal, to the
sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.
13-4:33 And all their villages that were round about the same cities, unto Baal. These were their habitations, and their genealogy.
13-5:5 Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,
13-8:30 And his firstborn son Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and
Nadab,
13-9:36 And his firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and
Ner, and Nadab,
14-23:17 Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and
brake it down, and brake his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan
the priest of Baal before the altars.
24-2:8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law
knew me not: the pastors also
transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
24-7:9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit
adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
24-11:13 For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets
of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even
altars to burn incense unto Baal.
24-11:17 For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath
pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the
house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger
in offering incense unto Baal.
24-12:16 And it shall come to pass, if
they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD
liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in
the midst of my people.
24-19:5 They have built also the high places of Baal, to
burn their sons with fire for burnt
offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:
24-23:13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they
prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
24-23:27 Which think to cause my people to
forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name
for Baal.
24-32:29 And the Chaldeans, that fight against
this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered
incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods,
to provoke me to anger.
24-32:35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom,
to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it
into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
28-2:8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine,
and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
28-13:1 When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in
Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.
36-1:4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon
all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from
this place, and the name of the
Chemarims with the priests;
45-11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have
reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

11-18:22 Then said Elijah unto the people,
I, even I only, remain a prophet of
the LORD; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

06-15:9 And the border was drawn from the
top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the
border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:
06-15:10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went
down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:
06-15:11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron
northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah,
and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
06-15:29 Baalah, and
Iim, and Azem,
13-13:6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah,
that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence
the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between
the cherubims, whose name is called on
it.

wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light
persons, which followed him.

06-12:7 And these are the
kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side
Jordan on the west, from Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon even unto
the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of
Israel for a possession according to

07-2:11 And the children of Israel did
evil in the sight of the LORD, and served
Baalim:
07-3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of
the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.
07-8:33 And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that
the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim,
and made Baalberith their god.
07-10:6 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight
of the LORD, and served Baalim,
and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods
of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and
served not him.
07-10:10 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD,
saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and
also served Baalim.
09-7:4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim
and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
09-12:10 And they cried unto the LORD, and
said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out
of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.
11-18:18 And he answered, I have not
troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have
forsaken the commandments of the
LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.
14-17:3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in
the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;
14-24:7 For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked
woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD
did they bestow upon
Baalim.
14-28:2 For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and
made also molten images for Baalim.
14-33:3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father
had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped
all the host of heaven, and served them.
14-34:4 And they brake down the altars of Baalim
in his presence; and the images, that were
on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and
the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon
the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.
24-2:23 How canst thou say, I am not
polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing
her ways;
24-9:14 But have walked after the imagination of their own
heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
28-2:13 And I will visit upon her the
days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her
jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the LORD.
28-2:17 For I will take away the names of Baalim
out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
28-11:2 As they called them, so they went from them: they
sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

05-4:3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD
did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that
followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed
them from among you.
19-106:28 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor,
and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
28-9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the

they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations
were according as they loved.

13-14:11 So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them

12-1:3 But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite,
Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that
ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?
12-1:6 And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet
us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto
him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it not
because there is not a God in Israel,
that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub
the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which
thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
12-1:16 And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch
as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou
shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely

the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and

11-15:16 And there was war between Asa and Baasha
king of Israel all their days.
11-15:17 And Baasha
king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of
Judah.
11-15:19 There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee
a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha
king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
11-15:21 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
11-15:22 Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all
Judah; none was exempted: and they
took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha
had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
11-15:27 And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar,
conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at
Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
11-15:28 Even in
the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his
stead.
11-15:32 And there
was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
11-15:33 In the
third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign
over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
11-16:1 Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha,
saying,
11-16:3 Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will
make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
11-16:4 Him that
dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth
of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.
11-16:5 Now the rest
of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the
chronicles of the kings of Israel?
11-16:6 So Baasha
slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in
his stead.
11-16:7 And also
by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD
against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that
he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his
hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
11-16:8 In the
twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha
to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
11-16:11 And it
came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha:
he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor
of his friends.
11-16:12 Thus did
Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake
against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
11-16:13 For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by
which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger
with their vanities.
11-21:22 And will
make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the
house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith
thou hast provoked me to anger, and
made Israel to sin.
12-9:9 And I will
make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like
the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:
14-16:1 In the
six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against
Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in
to Asa king of Judah.
14-16:3 There is a league between me and thee,
as there was between my father and
thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with
Baasha
king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
14-16:5 And it
came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that
he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.
14-16:6 Then Asa
the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the
timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and
Mizpah.
24-41:9 Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast all the dead
bodies of the men, whom he had slain
because of Gedaliah, was it which Asa
the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel: and Ishmael
the son of Nethaniah filled it with them that were slain.

44-17:18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and

other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth
of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

54-6:20 O Timothy,
keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so
called:
55-2:16 But shun
profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

42-1:41 And it
came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and
Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
42-1:44 For, lo,
as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
42-2:12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find
the babe wrapped
in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

01-10:10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and
Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
01-11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there
confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter
them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

the mouth of babes and sucklings

the enemy and the avenger.
19-17:14 From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of
the world, which have their portion
in this life, and whose belly thou
fillest with thy hid treasure: they
are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
23-3:4 And I
will give children to be their
princes, and babes shall
rule over them.
40-11:25 At that time
Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed
them unto babes.
40-21:16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say?
And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast
perfected praise?
42-10:21 In that
hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven
and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and
prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy
sight.

46-3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto
spiritual, but as unto carnal, even
as unto babes in
Christ.

grow thereby:
