19-PSALMS
19-1:2 But his delight is
in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
19-1:4 The
ungodly are not so: but are like
the chaff which the wind driveth away.
19-1:6 For
the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but
the way of the ungodly shall perish.
19-2:12 Kiss
the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from
the way, when his wrath is kindled but a
little. Blessed are all they that put
their trust in him.
19-3:3 But thou, O LORD, art
a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
19-4:3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is
godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
19-5:7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
19-5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee
rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them
also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
19-6:3 My
soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how
long?
19-7:9 Oh
let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but
establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
19-9:7 But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his
throne for judgment.
19-9:20 Put
them in fear, O LORD: that the
nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
19-11:5 The
LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and
him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
19-13:5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall
rejoice in thy salvation.
19-15:4 In
whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he
honoureth them that fear the LORD. He
that sweareth to his own hurt,
and changeth not.
19-16:3 But to
the saints that are in the earth, and
to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
19-18:18 They
prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the
LORD was my stay.
19-18:27 For
thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt
bring down high looks.
19-18:41 They
cried, but there
was none to save them: even unto
the LORD, but he answered them not.
19-20:7 Some
trust in chariots, and some in
horses: but we will remember the name of the
LORD our God.
19-20:8 They
are brought down and fallen: but we are risen,
and stand upright.
19-22:2 O
my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest
not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
19-22:3 But thou art holy,
O thou that inhabitest the praises of
Israel.
19-22:6 But I am a
worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
19-22:9 But thou art he
that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts.
19-22:19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength,
haste thee to help me.
19-22:24 For
he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath
he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto
him, he heard.
19-26:11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem
me, and be merciful unto me.
19-28:3 Draw
me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak
peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
19-30:5 For
his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but
joy cometh in the morning.
19-31:6 I
have hated them that regard lying vanities: but
I trust in the LORD.
19-31:11 I
was a reproach among all mine enemies, but
especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did
see me without fled from me.
19-31:14 But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.
19-32:10 Many
sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass
him about.
19-34:10 The
young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they
that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
19-34:19 Many
are the afflictions of the righteous:
but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
19-35:13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with
fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
19-35:15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered
themselves together: yea, the abjects
gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and
ceased not:
19-35:20 For
they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful
matters against them that are quiet
in the land.
19-37:9 For
evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait
upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
19-37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall
delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
19-37:17 For
the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the
LORD upholdeth the righteous.
19-37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the
LORD shall be as the fat of lambs:
they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
19-37:21 The
wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the
righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
19-37:28 For
the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for
ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut
off.
19-37:36 Yet
he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea,
I sought him, but he could not be found.
19-37:38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the
end of the wicked shall be cut off.
19-37:39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
19-38:13 But I, as a deaf man,
heard not; and I was as a dumb
man that openeth not his mouth.
19-38:19 But mine enemies are
lively, and they are strong: and
they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
19-40:17 But I am poor
and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon
me: thou art my help and my
deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
19-41:10 But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me
up, that I may requite them.
19-44:3 For
they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm
save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm,
and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
19-44:7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put
them to shame that hated us.
19-44:9 But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest
not forth with our armies.
19-49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the
grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
19-50:16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to
declare my statutes, or that thou
shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
19-50:21 These
things hast thou done, and I kept
silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
19-52:7 Lo,
this is the man that made not God his strength; but
trusted in the abundance of his riches, and
strengthened himself in his wickedness.
19-52:8 But I am like
a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever
and ever.
19-55:13 But it was thou,
a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.
19-55:21 The words of his mouth were smoother
than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
19-55:23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of
destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
19-59:8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have
all the heathen in derision.
19-59:16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud
of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the
day of my trouble.
19-62:4 They
only consult to cast him down from
his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
19-63:9 But those that seek
my soul, to destroy it, shall go into
the lower parts of the earth.
19-63:11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that
sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them
that speak lies shall be stopped.
19-64:7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
19-66:12 Thou
hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water:
but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
19-66:19 But verily
God hath heard me; he hath attended
to the voice of my prayer.
19-68:3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before
God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
19-68:6 God
setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with
chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
19-68:21 But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as
goeth on still in his trespasses.
19-69:13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an
acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of
thy salvation.
19-69:20 Reproach
hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none;
and for comforters, but I found none.
19-69:29 But I am poor
and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
19-70:5 But I am poor
and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art
my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.
19-71:7 I
am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
19-71:14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee
more and more.
19-73:2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had
well nigh slipped.
19-73:4 For
there are no bands in their death: but their strength is
firm.
19-73:25 Whom
have I in heaven but
thee? and there is none upon
earth that I desire beside thee.
19-73:26 My
flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the
strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
19-73:28 But it is good
for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may
declare all thy works.
19-74:6 But now they break down the carved work thereof at
once with axes and hammers.
19-75:7 But God is the
judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
19-75:8 For
in the hand of the LORD there is a
cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the
same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of
the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
19-75:9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to
the God of Jacob.
19-75:10 All
the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall
be exalted.
19-77:10 And
I said, This is my infirmity: but I will
remember the years of the right hand of the most High.
19-78:7 That
they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
19-78:30 They
were not estranged from their lust. But while
their meat was yet in their mouths,
19-78:38 But he, being full
of compassion, forgave their iniquity,
and destroyed them not: yea, many a
time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
19-78:39 For
he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh
not again.
19-78:50 He
made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;
19-78:52 But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and
guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
19-78:53 And
he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but
the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
19-78:57 But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their
fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
19-78:68 But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he
loved.
19-81:11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and
Israel would none of me.
19-81:15 The
haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.
19-82:7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the
princes.
19-85:8 I
will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his
people, and to his saints: but let them not turn
again to folly.
19-86:15 But thou, O Lord, art
a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in
mercy and truth.
19-88:13 But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning
shall my prayer prevent thee.
19-89:24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
19-89:38 But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been
wroth with thine anointed.
19-90:4 For
a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
19-91:7 A
thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it
shall not come nigh thee.
19-92:8 But thou, LORD, art
most high for evermore.
19-92:10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
19-94:15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all
the upright in heart shall follow it.
19-94:22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
19-96:5 For
all the gods of the nations are idols:
but the LORD made the heavens.
19-102:12 But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy
remembrance unto all generations.
19-102:26 They
shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of
them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and
they shall be changed:
19-102:27 But thou art the
same, and thy years shall have no end.
19-103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his
righteousness unto children’s children;
19-105:12 When
they were but
a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
19-106:7 Our
fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude
of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
19-106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted
God in the desert.
19-106:15 And
he gave them their request; but sent leanness
into their soul.
19-106:25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.
19-106:35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their
works.
19-106:43 Many
times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought
low for their iniquity.
19-109:4 For
my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.
19-109:16 Because
that he remembered not to shew mercy, but
persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
19-109:21 But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name’s
sake: because thy mercy is good,
deliver thou me.
19-109:28 Let
them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let
them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.
19-115:1 Not
unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name
give glory, for thy mercy, and for
thy truth’s sake.
19-115:3 But our God is in
the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
19-115:5 They
have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they,
but they see not:
19-115:6 They
have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
19-115:7 They
have hands, but they handle not: feet have they,
but they walk not: neither speak they through
their throat.
19-115:16 The
heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but
the earth hath he given to the children of men.
19-115:18 But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and
for evermore. Praise the LORD.
19-118:10 All
nations compassed me about: but in the name of
the LORD will I destroy them.
19-118:11 They
compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but
in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
19-118:13 Thou
hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but
the LORD helped me.
19-118:17 I
shall not die, but live, and declare the works
of the LORD.
19-118:18 The
LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not
given me over unto death.
19-119:23 Princes
also did sit and speak against me: but thy
servant did meditate in thy statutes.
19-119:61 The
bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
19-119:67 Before
I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I
kept thy word.
19-119:69 The
proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
19-119:70 Their
heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.
19-119:78 Let
the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I
will meditate in thy precepts.
19-119:81 CAPH.
My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.
19-119:87 They
had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook
not thy precepts.
19-119:95 The
wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.
19-119:96 I
have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.
19-119:113 SAMECH.
I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.
19-119:161 SCHIN.
Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but
my heart standeth in awe of thy word.
19-119:163 I
hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.
19-120:7 I
am for peace: but when I speak, they are for
war.
19-125:1 They
that trust in the LORD shall be as mount
Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth
for ever.
19-125:5 As
for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth
with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall
be upon Israel.
19-127:1 Except
the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD
keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
19-127:5 Happy
is the man that hath his quiver full
of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they
shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
19-130:4 But there is forgiveness
with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
19-132:18 His
enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon
himself shall his crown flourish.
19-135:16 They
have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they,
but they see not;
19-135:17 They
have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
19-136:15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for
his mercy endureth for ever.
19-138:6 Though
the LORD be high, yet hath he respect
unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar
off.
19-139:4 For
there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo,
O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
19-139:12 Yea,
the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night
shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
19-141:8 But mine eyes are
unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul
destitute.
19-142:4 I
looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no
man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
19-145:20 The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.
19-146:9 The
LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
20-PROVERBS
20-1:7 The
fear of the LORD is the beginning of
knowledge: but
fools despise wisdom and instruction.
20-1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would
none of my reproof:
20-1:28 Then
shall they call upon me, but I will not answer;
they shall seek me early, but they shall not
find me:
20-1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and
shall be quiet from fear of evil.
20-2:22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and
the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
20-3:1 My
son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep
my commandments:
20-3:32 For
the froward is abomination to the
LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.
20-3:33 The
curse of the LORD is in the house of
the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of
the just.
20-3:34 Surely
he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace
unto the lowly.
20-3:35 The
wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the
promotion of fools.
20-4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the
perfect day.
20-5:4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged
sword.
20-6:31 But if he be
found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his
house.
20-6:32 But whoso
committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
20-8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul:
all they that hate me love death.
20-9:12 If
thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but
if thou scornest, thou alone shalt
bear it.
20-9:18 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her
guests are in the depths of hell.
20-10:1 The
proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but
a foolish son is the heaviness of his
mother.
20-10:2 Treasures
of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness
delivereth from death.
20-10:3 The
LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
20-10:4 He
becometh poor that dealeth with a
slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh
rich.
20-10:5 He
that gathereth in summer is a wise
son: but he
that sleepeth in harvest is a son
that causeth shame.
20-10:6 Blessings
are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
20-10:7 The
memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
20-10:8 The
wise in heart will receive commandments: but a
prating fool shall fall.
