19-PSALMS
19-1:3 And
he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of
water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not
wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
19-5:10 Destroy
thou them, O God; let them fall by their own
counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have
rebelled against thee.
19-9:16 The
LORD is known by
the judgment which he executeth:
the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
19-10:10 He
croucheth, and humbleth himself, that
the poor may fall by his strong ones.
19-17:4 Concerning
the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have
kept me from the paths of the
destroyer.
19-17:7 Shew
thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by
thy right hand them which put their trust in
thee from those that rise up against
them.
19-18:8 There
went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals
were kindled by it.
19-18:29 For by thee I have
run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped
over a wall.
19-18:34 He
teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
19-19:11 Moreover
by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
19-30:7 LORD,
by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand
strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I
was troubled.
19-33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all
the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
19-33:16 There
is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a
mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
19-33:17 An
horse is a vain thing for safety:
neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
19-37:23 The
steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
19-38:8 I
am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by
reason of the disquietness of my heart.
19-39:10 Remove
thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the
blow of thine hand.
19-41:11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine
enemy doth not triumph over me.
19-44:3 For
they got not the land in possession by their own
sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm,
and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
19-44:12 Thou
sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
19-44:16 For
the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by
reason of the enemy and avenger.
19-48:4 For,
lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by
together.
19-49:7 None
of them can by
any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
19-50:5 Gather
my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
19-54:1 Save
me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.
19-56:7 Shall
they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.
19-59:11 Slay
them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by
thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
19-63:10 They
shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion
for foxes.
19-63:11 But
the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by
him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
19-65:5 By terrible
things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends
of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon
the sea:
19-65:6 Which
by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:
19-66:7 He
ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold
the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
19-68:4 Sing
unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
19-71:6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art
he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
19-72:3 The
mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
19-73:23 Nevertheless
I am continually with thee: thou hast
holden me by
my right hand.
19-74:7 They
have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place
of thy name to the ground.
19-74:13 Thou
didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou
brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.
19-77:20 Thou
leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of
Moses and Aaron.
19-78:17 And
they sinned yet more against him by provoking
the most High in the wilderness.
19-78:18 And
they tempted God in their heart by asking meat
for their lust.
19-78:26 He
caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by
his power he brought in the south wind.
19-78:49 He
cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and
trouble, by sending evil angels among them.
19-78:55 He
cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in
their tents.
19-78:64 Their
priests fell by the sword; and their widows made
no lamentation.
19-78:65 Then
the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like
a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
19-78:72 So
he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
19-79:10 Wherefore
should the heathen say, Where is their
God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy
servants which is shed.
19-80:12 Why
hast thou then broken down her
hedges, so that all they which pass by the way
do pluck her?
19-88:9 Mine
eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have
called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.
19-89:35 Once
have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie
unto David.
19-89:39 Thou
hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it
to the ground.
19-89:41 All
that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach
to his neighbours.
19-90:7 For
we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
19-90:10 The
days of our years are threescore
years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for
it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
19-91:5 Thou
shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
19-94:20 Shall
the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
19-102:5 By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave
to my skin.
19-104:8 They
go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded
for them.
19-104:12 By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their
habitation, which sing among the
branches.
19-106:22 Wondrous
works in the land of Ham, and terrible
things by the Red sea.
19-107:7 And
he led them forth by the right way, that they
might go to a city of habitation.
19-119:9 BETH.
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by
taking heed thereto according to thy
word.
19-121:6 The
sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
19-128:3 Thy
wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive
plants round about thy table.
19-129:8 Neither
do they which go by say, The blessing of the
LORD be upon you: we bless you in the
name of the LORD.
19-134:1 Behold,
bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of
the LORD, which by night stand in the house of
the LORD.
19-136:5 To
him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his
mercy endureth for ever.
19-136:8 The
sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:
19-136:9 The
moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.
19-137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we
wept, when we remembered Zion.
19-140:5 The
proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
19-147:4 He
telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by
their names.
20-PROVERBS
20-3:19 The
LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20-3:20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the
clouds drop down the dew.
20-3:28 Say
not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when
thou hast it by thee.
20-3:29 Devise
not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
20-4:15 Avoid
it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
20-6:26 For
by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt
for the precious life.
20-7:26 For
she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
20-8:2 She
standeth in the top of high places, by the way
in the places of the paths.
20-8:15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
20-8:16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
20-8:30 Then
I was by him, as one brought up with him: and
I was daily his delight, rejoicing
always before him;
20-9:11 For
by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the
years of thy life shall be increased.
20-11:5 The
righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
20-11:11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted:
but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
20-12:3 A
man shall not be established by wickedness: but
the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
20-12:13 The
wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of
trouble.
20-12:14 A
man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of
his mouth: and the recompence of a
man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.
20-13:2 A
man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the
transgressors shall eat violence.
20-13:10 Only
by pride cometh contention: but with the well
advised is wisdom.
20-13:11 Wealth
gotten by
vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by
labour shall increase.
20-14:4 Where
no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the
strength of the ox.
20-15:13 A
merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by
sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
20-15:23 A
man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a
word spoken in due season, how good is it!
20-16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
20-16:12 It is an abomination to kings to commit
wickedness: for the throne is established by
righteousness.
20-20:4 The
sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
20-20:11 Even
a child is known by his doings, whether his work
be pure, and whether it be right.
20-20:18 Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
20-20:28 Mercy
and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
20-21:6 The
getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them
that seek death.
20-22:4 By humility and the
fear of the LORD are riches, and
honour, and life.
20-24:3 Through
wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding
it is established:
20-24:4 And
by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with
all precious and pleasant riches.
20-24:6 For
by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in
multitude of counsellors there is safety.
20-24:30 I
went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
20-25:15 By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft
tongue breaketh the bone.
20-26:2 As
the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
20-26:6 He
that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool
cutteth off the feet, and drinketh
damage.
20-26:17 He
that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging
not to him, is like one that
taketh a dog by the ears.
20-26:26 Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.
20-26:28 A
lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted
by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
20-27:9 Ointment
and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the
sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.
20-28:2 For
the transgression of a land many are the
princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
20-28:8 He
that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his
substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
20-29:4 The
king by judgment establisheth the land: but he
that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
20-29:19 A
servant will not be corrected by words: for
though he understand he will not answer.
20-30:27 The
locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by
bands;
20-31:18 She
perceiveth that her merchandise is good:
her candle goeth not out by night.
21-ECCLESIASTES
21-1:13 And
I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom
concerning all things that are done
under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be
exercised therewith.
21-5:3 For
a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by
multitude of words.
21-5:9 Moreover
the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.
21-5:14 But
those riches perish by evil travail: and he
begetteth a son, and there is nothing
in his hand.
21-7:3 Sorrow
is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made
better.
21-7:11 Wisdom
is good with an inheritance: and by it there
is profit to them that see the sun.
21-7:23 All
this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be
wise; but it was far from me.
21-7:26 And
I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her
hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God
shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by
her.
21-7:27 Behold,
this have I found, saith the preacher, counting
one by one, to find out the account:
21-9:1 For
all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous,
and the wise, and their works, are in
the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.
21-9:15 Now
there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by
his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.
21-10:3 Yea
also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way,
his wisdom faileth him, and he saith
to every one that he is a fool.
21-10:18 By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and
through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
21-12:11 The
words of the wise are as goads, and
as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
21-12:12 And
further, by these, my son, be admonished: of
making many books there is no end;
and much study is a weariness of the
flesh.
22-SONG
OF
SOLOMON
22-1:7 Tell
me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why
should I be as one that turneth aside by the
flocks of thy companions?
22-1:8 If
thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids
beside the shepherds’ tents.
22-2:7 I
charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the
roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye
stir not up, nor awake my love, till
he please.
22-3:1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I
sought him, but I found him not.
22-3:5 I
charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the
roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye
stir not up, nor awake my love, till
he please.
22-5:4 My
beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved
for him.
22-5:12 His
eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of
waters, washed with milk, and fitly
set.
22-7:4 Thy
neck is as a tower of ivory; thine
eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh
toward Damascus.
23-ISAIAH
23-1:7 Your
country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land,
strangers devour it in your presence, and it
is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
23-3:5 And
the people shall be oppressed, every one by
another, and every one by his neighbour: the
child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against
the honourable.
23-3:25 Thy
men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in
the war.
23-4:1 And
in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own
bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by
thy name, to take away our reproach.
23-4:4 When
the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall
have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
23-4:5 And
the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her
assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the
shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all
the glory shall be a defence.
23-7:20 In
the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by
them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria,
the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.
23-9:1 Nevertheless
the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the
land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously
afflict her by
the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
23-10:13 For
he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done
it, and by
my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and
have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant
man:
23-10:34 And
he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
23-13:15 Every
one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
23-15:5 My
heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall
flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by
the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of
Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.
23-18:2 That
sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels
of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go,
ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible
from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land
the rivers have spoiled!
23-19:7 The
paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no
more.
23-20:2 At
the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son
of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy
shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
23-22:3 All
thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by
the archers: all that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.
23-22:5 For
it is a day of trouble, and of
treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD
of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the
mountains.
23-22:14 And
it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of
hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the
Lord GOD of hosts.
23-23:3 And
by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest
of the river, is her revenue; and she
is a mart of nations.
23-26:13 O
LORD our God, other lords beside thee
have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
23-27:7 Hath
he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?
23-27:9 By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be
purged; and this is all the fruit to
take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones
that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.
23-27:12 And
it shall come to pass in that day, that the
LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and
ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children
of Israel.
23-28:18 And
your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell
shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall
be trodden down by it.
23-28:19 From
the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be
a vexation only to understand the
report.
23-29:13 Wherefore
the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have
removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
23-32:8 But
the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by
liberal things shall he stand.
23-34:17 And
he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from
generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
23-36:2 And
the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem unto king Hezekiah
with a great army. And he stood by the conduit
of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller’s field.
23-36:16 Hearken
not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me: and eat ye every
one of his vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the
waters of his own cistern;
23-37:7 Behold,
I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own
land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword
in his own land.
23-37:11 Behold,
thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be
delivered?
23-37:24 By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and
hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I
come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut
down the tall cedars thereof, and the
choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.
23-37:29 Because
thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will
I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back
by the way by
which thou camest.
23-37:34 By the way that he came, by
the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
23-38:8 Behold,
I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun
dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
23-38:16 O
Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make
me to live.
23-40:26 Lift
up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by
number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
