20-4:15     Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

20-6:26     For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.

20-8:2      She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

20-11:5     The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

20-11:11    By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

21-ECCLESIASTES

21-1:13     And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

21-5:3      For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.

21-5:9      Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.

21-5:14     But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand.

21-7:3      Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

21-7:11     Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.

21-7:23     All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.

21-7:26     And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

21-7:27     Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:

21-9:1      For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.

21-9:15     Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.

21-10:3     Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool.

21-10:18    By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

21-12:11    The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

21-12:12    And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

22-SONG OF SOLOMON

22-1:7      Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?

22-1:8      If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents.

22-2:7      I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

22-3:1      By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.

22-3:5      I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

22-5:4      My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.

22-5:12     His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.

22-7:4      Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus.

23-ISAIAH

23-1:7      Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

23-3:5      And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

23-3:25     Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

23-4:1      And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

23-4:4      When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

23-4:5      And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

23-7:20     In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.

23-9:1      Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

23-10:13    For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:

23-10:34    And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.

23-13:15    Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.

23-15:5     My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

23-18:2     That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

23-19:7     The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.

23-20:2     At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

23-22:3     All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.

23-22:5     For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.

23-22:14    And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

23-23:3     And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.

23-26:13    O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

23-27:7     Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?

23-27:9     By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.

23-27:12    And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.

23-28:18    And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

23-28:19    From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

23-29:13    Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

23-32:8     But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

23-34:17    And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.

23-36:2     And the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem unto king Hezekiah with a great army. And he stood by the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller’s field.

23-36:16    Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me: and eat ye every one of his vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his own cistern;

23-37:7     Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

23-37:11    Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?

23-37:24    By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.

23-37:29    Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

23-37:34    By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

23-38:8     Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

23-38:16    O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.

23-40:26    Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
