they rose up before Moses, with certain of the
children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in
the congregation, men of renown:
05-13:13 Certain men,
the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the
inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye
have not known;
05-13:14 Then
shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among
you;
05-17:4 And
it be told thee, and thou hast heard of
it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing
certain, that
such abomination is wrought in Israel:

number.

merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons

saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.

Ephrathite:

out, and passest over the brook Kidron, thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt surely die: thy blood shall be
upon thine own head.
11-2:42 And
the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to
swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad
any whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.
11-7:29 And
on the borders that were between the
ledges were lions, oxen, and

unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man
refused to smite him.
11-22:34 And

harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and
carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
12-4:1 Now

of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and
to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:
13-19:5 Then
there went certain,
and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the
men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards
be grown, and then return.
14-8:13 Even
after a certain rate every day, offering according
to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the
solemn feasts, three times in the year, even
in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the
feast of tabernacles.
14-18:2 And
after certain
years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for
him in abundance, and for the people that he
had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.
14-18:33 And
a certain man
drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the
harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou
mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

tenth month to examine the matter.

Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning
the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning
Jerusalem.
16-1:4 And
it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and
mourned certain
days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
16-11:4 And
at Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the
children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah; Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the
son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of
Mahalaleel, of the children of Perez;
16-11:23 For
it was the king’s commandment
concerning them, that a certain portion should
be for the singers, due for every day.
16-12:35 And
certain of
the priests’ sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah
the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of
Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:
16-13:6 But
in all this time was not I at
Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon came
I unto the king, and after certain days obtained
I leave of the king:
16-13:25 And
I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain
of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters
unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
17-2:5 Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish,
a Benjamite;
17-3:8 And
Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain
people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of
thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse
from all people; neither keep they the king’s laws: therefore it is not for the king’s profit to suffer
them.
24-26:15 But
know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death,
ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and
upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to
speak all these words in your ears.
24-26:17 Then
rose up certain of the elders of the land, and
spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,
24-26:22 And
Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely,
Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt.
24-41:5 That
there came certain from Shechem, from Shiloh,
and from Samaria, even fourscore men,

with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.
24-52:15 Then
Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people,
and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell
away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
24-52:16 But
Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers
and for husbandmen.
26-14:1 Then
came certain of the elders of Israel unto me,
and sat before me.

the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to enquire of the
LORD, and sat before me.
27-1:3 And
the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of
the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes;
27-2:45 Forasmuch
as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and
that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the
gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
27-3:8 Wherefore
at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and
accused the Jews.
27-3:12 There
are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the
affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men,
O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden
image which thou hast set up.
27-8:13 Then
I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which
spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of
desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
27-8:27 And
I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the
king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
27-10:5 Then
I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain
man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded
with fine gold of Uphaz:
27-11:13 For
the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater
than the former, and shall certainly come after certain
years with a great army and with much riches.
40-8:19 And
a certain scribe came, and said unto him,
Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
40-9:3 And,
behold, certain of the scribes said within
themselves, This man blasphemeth.
40-9:18 While
he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain
ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and
lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
40-12:38 Then
certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees
answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
40-17:14 And
when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him,
and saying,
40-18:23 Therefore
is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain
king, which would take account of his servants.
40-20:20 Then
came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
40-21:28 But
what think ye? A certain
man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day
in my vineyard.
40-21:33 Hear
another parable: There was a certain
householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a
winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into
a far country:
40-22:2 The
kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king,
which made a marriage for his son,
41-2:6 But
there were certain of the scribes sitting there,
and reasoning in their hearts,
41-5:25 And
a certain woman, which had an issue of blood
twelve years,
41-5:35 While
he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy
daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
41-7:1 Then
came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain
of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
41-7:25 For
a certain woman,
whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at
his feet:
41-11:5 And
certain of them that stood there said unto them,
What do ye, loosing the colt?
41-12:1 And
he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge
about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a
tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
41-12:13 And
they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and
of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
41-12:42 And
there came a certain poor widow, and she threw
in two mites, which make a farthing.
41-14:51 And
there followed him a certain young man, having a
linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on
him:
41-14:57 And
there arose certain, and bare false witness
against him, saying,
42-1:5 There
was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain
priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her
name was Elisabeth.
42-5:12 And
it came to pass, when he was in a certain city,
behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst
make me clean.
42-5:17 And
it came to pass on a certain day, as he was
teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which
were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the
power of the Lord was present to heal
them.
42-6:2 And
certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do
ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
42-7:2 And
a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto
him, was sick, and ready to die.

certain women, which had been healed of evil
spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
42-8:20 And
it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren
stand without, desiring to see thee.
42-8:22 Now
it came to pass on a certain day, that he went
into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the
other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
42-8:27 And
when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no
clothes, neither abode in any house,
but in the tombs.
42-9:57 And
it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain
man said unto him, Lord, I will
follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho,
and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
42-10:31 And
by chance there came down a certain priest that
way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
42-10:33 But
a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where
he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
42-10:38 Now
it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain
village: and a certain woman named Martha received
him into her house.
42-11:1 And
it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain
place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to
pray, as John also taught his disciples.

it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain
woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps
which thou hast sucked.
42-11:37 And
as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine
with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.
42-12:16 And
he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain
rich man brought forth plentifully:
42-13:6 He
spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his
vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
42-13:31 The
same day there came certain of the Pharisees,
saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
42-14:2 And,
behold, there was a certain man before him which
had the dropsy.
42-14:16 Then
said he unto him, A certain man made a great
supper, and bade many:
42-15:11 And
he said, A certain man had two sons:
42-16:1 And
he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain
rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had
wasted his goods.
42-16:19 There
was a certain rich man, which was clothed in
purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
42-16:20 And
there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was
laid at his gate, full of sores,
42-17:12 And
as he entered into a certain village, there met
him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
42-18:9 And

in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
42-18:18 And
a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master,
what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
42-18:35 And
it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
42-19:12 He
said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a
far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
42-20:9 Then
began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain
man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far
country for a long time.
42-20:27 Then
came to him certain
of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked
him,
42-20:39 Then
certain of the scribes answering said, Master,
thou hast well said.
42-21:2 And
he saw also a certain poor widow casting in
thither two mites.
42-22:56 But
a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire,
and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
42-23:19 (Who
for a certain sedition made in the city, and for
murder, was cast into prison.)
42-24:1 Now
upon the first day of the week, very
early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which
they had prepared, and certain others with them.
42-24:22 Yea,
and certain women also of our company made us
astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
42-24:24 And
certain of them which were with us went to the
sepulchre, and found it even so as
the women had said: but him they saw not.
43-4:46 So
Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there
was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at
Capernaum.
43-5:4 For
an angel went down at a certain season into the
pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the
water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
43-5:5 And
a certain man was there, which had an infirmity
thirty and eight years.
43-11:1 Now
a certain man
was sick, named Lazarus, of
Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
43-12:20 And
there were certain Greeks among them that came
up to worship at the feast:
44-3:2 And
a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was
carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called
Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
44-5:1 But
a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his
wife, sold a possession,
44-5:2 And
kept back part of the price, his wife
also being privy to it, and brought a
certain part, and laid it, at the apostles’ feet.
44-6:9 Then
there arose certain of the synagogue, which is
called the synagogue of the
Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of
Asia, disputing with Stephen.
44-8:9 But
there was a certain man, called Simon, which
beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria,
giving out that himself was some great one:
44-8:36 And
as they went on their way, they came
unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be
baptized?
44-9:10 And
there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named
Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
44-9:19 And
when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at
Damascus.
44-9:33 And
there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which
had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
44-9:36 Now
there was at Joppa a certain disciple named
Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good
works and almsdeeds which she did.
44-10:1 There
was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius,
a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
44-10:11 And
saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel
descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and
let down to the earth:
44-10:23 Then
called he them in, and lodged them. And
on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain
brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
44-10:48 And
he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him
to tarry certain days.
44-11:5 I
was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet,
let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
44-12:1 Now
about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the
church.
44-13:1 Now
there were in the church that was at Antioch certain
prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and
Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the
tetrarch, and Saul.
44-13:6 And
when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:
44-14:8 And
there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in
his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:
44-14:19 And
there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who
persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
44-15:1 And
certain men which came down from Judaea taught
the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised
after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
44-15:2 When
therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them,
they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain
other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about
this question.
44-15:5 But
there rose up certain of the sect of the
Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and
to command them to keep the law of
Moses.
44-15:24 Forasmuch
as we have heard, that certain which went out
from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the
law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
44-16:1 Then
came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain
disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain
woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
44-16:12 And
from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city
abiding certain days.
44-16:14 And
a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple,
of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things
which were spoken of Paul.
44-16:16 And
it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain
damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters
much gain by soothsaying:
44-17:5 But
the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a
company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason,
and sought to bring them out to the people.
44-17:6 And
when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain
brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world
upside down are come hither also;
44-17:18 Then
certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of
the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other
some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto
them Jesus, and the resurrection.
44-17:20 For
thou bringest certain strange things to our
ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
44-17:28 For
in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain
