09-1 SAMUEL
09-2:29 Wherefore
kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons
above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest
of all the offerings of Israel my people?
09-9:22 And
Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made
them sit in the chiefest place among them that
were bidden, which were about thirty
persons.
09-21:7 Now
a certain man of the servants of Saul was
there that day, detained before the LORD; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chiefest
of the herdmen that belonged to Saul.
14-32:33 And
Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and
all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And
Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
22-5:10 My
beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
41-10:44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
47-11:5 For I suppose I was not a whit
behind the very chiefest apostles.
47-12:11 I am become a fool in glorying; ye
have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am
I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be
nothing.

45-3:2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the
oracles of God.
50-4:22 All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar’s household.
61-2:10 But chiefly
them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government.
Presumptuous are they, selfwilled,
they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

01-GENESIS
01-11:30 But
Sarai was barren; she had no child.
01-16:11 And
the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a
son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy
affliction.
01-17:10 This
is my covenant, which ye shall keep,
between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child
among you shall be circumcised.
01-17:12 And
he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the
house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
01-17:14 And
the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his
foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he
hath broken my covenant.
01-17:17 Then
Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be
born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety
years old, bear?
01-18:13 And
the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a
surety bear a child, which am old?
01-19:36 Thus
were both the daughters of Lot with child by
their father.
01-21:8 And
the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made
a great feast the same day that Isaac
was weaned.
01-21:14 And
Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water,
and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and
wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
01-21:15 And
the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child
under one of the shrubs.
01-21:16 And
she went, and sat her down over against him
a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the
death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
01-37:30 And
he returned unto his brethren, and said, The child
is not; and I, whither shall I go?
01-38:24 And
it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar
thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child
by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.
01-38:25 When
she was brought forth, she sent to
her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said,
Discern, I pray thee, whose are these,
the signet, and bracelets, and staff.
01-42:22 And
Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against
the child; and ye would not hear? therefore,
behold, also his blood is required.
01-44:20 And
we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is
dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.
02-2:2 And
the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
02-2:3 And
when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and
daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child
therein; and she laid it in the flags
by the river’s brink.
02-2:6 And
when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had
compassion on him, and said, This is one of
the Hebrews’ children.
02-2:7 Then
said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of
the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child
for thee?
02-2:9 And
Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child
away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee
thy wages. And the woman took the child, and
nursed it.
02-2:10 And
the child grew, and she brought him unto
Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and
she said, Because I drew him out of the water.
02-21:22 If
men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that
her fruit depart from her, and yet no
mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband
will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
02-22:22 Ye
shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
03-12:2 Speak
unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a
man child: then she shall be unclean seven days;
according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.
03-12:5 But
if she bear a maid child, then she shall be
unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of
her purifying threescore and six days.
03-22:13 But
if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father’s house, as in
her youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but there shall no stranger eat
thereof.
04-11:12 Have
I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto
me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their
fathers?
05-25:5 If
brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without
unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to
him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
07-11:34 And
Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to
meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he
had neither son nor daughter.
07-13:5 For,
lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head:
for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from
the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
07-13:7 But
he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no
wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a
Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.
07-13:8 Then
Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou
didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.
07-13:12 And
Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall
we do unto him?
07-13:24 And
the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.
08-4:16 And
Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom,
and became nurse unto it.
09-1:11 And
she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the
affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid,
but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child,
then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no
razor come upon his head.
09-1:22 But
Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be
weaned, and then I will bring him,
that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.
09-1:24 And
when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one
ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the
LORD in Shiloh: and the child was young.
09-1:25 And
they slew a bullock, and brought the child to
Eli.
09-1:27 For
this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me
my petition which I asked of him:
09-2:11 And
Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child
did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest.
09-2:18 But
Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a
child, girded with a linen ephod.
09-2:21 And
the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two
daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the
LORD.
09-2:26 And
the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both
with the LORD, and also with men.
09-3:1 And
the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before
Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
09-3:8 And
the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and
said, Here am I; for thou didst call
me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
09-4:19 And
his daughter in law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child,
near to be delivered: and when she
heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and
her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon
her.
09-4:21 And
she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is
departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her
father in law and her husband.
10-6:23 Therefore
Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto
the day of her death.
10-11:5 And
the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.
10-12:14 Howbeit,
because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD
to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
10-12:15 And
Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
10-12:16 David
therefore besought God for the child; and David
fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
10-12:18 And
it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child
died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would
not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that
the child is dead?
10-12:19 But
when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his
servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He
is dead.
10-12:21 Then
said his servants unto him, What thing is
this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it
was alive; but when the child was dead, thou
didst rise and eat bread.
10-12:22 And
he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted
and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether
GOD will be gracious to me, that the child
may live?
11-3:7 And
now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father:
and I am but a little child: I know not how
to go out or come in.
11-3:17 And
the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was
delivered of a child with her in the house.
11-3:19 And
this woman’s child died in the night; because
she overlaid it.
11-3:20 And
she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid
slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child
in my bosom.
11-3:21 And
when I rose in the morning to give my child
suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold,
it was not my son, which I did bear.
11-3:25 And
the king said, Divide the living child in two,
and give half to the one, and half to the other.
11-3:26 Then
spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels
yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let
it be neither mine nor thine, but divide
it.
11-3:27 Then
the king answered and said, Give her the living child,
and in no wise slay it: she is the
mother thereof.
11-11:17 That
Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go
into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.
11-13:2 And
he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar,
thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be
born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the
priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall
be burnt upon thee.
11-14:3 And
take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him:
he shall tell thee what shall become of the child.
11-14:12 Arise
thou therefore, get thee to thine own house: and when thy feet enter into the city, the child
shall die.
11-14:17 And
Jeroboam’s wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;
11-17:21 And
he stretched himself upon the child three times,
and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.
11-17:22 And
the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
11-17:23 And
Elijah took the child, and brought him down out
of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah
said, See, thy son liveth.
12-4:14 And
he said, What then is to be done for
her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child,
and her husband is old.
12-4:18 And
when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that
he went out to his father to the reapers.
12-4:26 Run
now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well
with thy husband? is it well with the
child? And she answered, It is well.
12-4:29 Then
he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go
thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer
him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.
12-4:30 And
the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave
thee. And he arose, and followed her.
12-4:31 And
Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there
was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and
told him, saying, The child is not awaked.
12-4:32 And
when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child
was dead, and laid upon his bed.
12-4:34 And
he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his
mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands:
and he stretched himself upon the child; and the
flesh of the child waxed warm.
12-4:35 Then
he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched
himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven
times, and the child opened his eyes.
12-5:14 Then
went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying
of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
12-8:12 And
Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that
thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on
fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their
children, and rip up their women with child.
12-15:16 Then
Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein,
and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were
with child he ripped up.
18-3:3 Let
the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child
conceived.
19-131:2 Surely
I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child
that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even
as a weaned child.
20-20:11 Even
a child is known by his doings, whether his work
be pure, and whether it be right.
20-22:6 Train
up a child in the way he should go: and when he
is old, he will not depart from it.
20-22:15 Foolishness
is bound in the heart of a child; but the
rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
20-23:13 Withhold
not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he
shall not die.
20-23:24 The
father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall
have joy of him.
20-29:15 The
rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
20-29:21 He
that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child
shall have him become his son at the
length.
21-4:8 There
is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath
neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour;
neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.
21-4:13 Better
is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more
be admonished.
21-4:15 I
considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.
21-10:16 Woe
to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!
21-11:5 As
thou knowest not what is the way of
the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who
maketh all.
23-3:5 And
the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his
neighbour: the child shall behave himself
proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
23-7:16 For
before the child shall know to refuse the evil,
and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her
kings.
23-8:4 For
before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My
father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be
taken away before the king of Assyria.
23-9:6 For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of
Peace.
23-10:19 And
the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
23-11:6 The
wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
23-11:8 And
the sucking child shall play on the hole of the
asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on
the cockatrice’ den.
23-26:17 Like
as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we
been in thy sight, O LORD.
23-26:18 We
have been with child, we have been in pain, we have
as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the
earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
23-49:15 Can
a woman forget her sucking child, that she
should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet
will I not forget thee.
23-54:1 Sing,
O barren, thou that didst not bear;
break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child:
for more are the children of the
desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
23-65:20 There
shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled
his days: for the child shall die an hundred
years old; but the sinner being an
hundred years old shall be accursed.
23-66:7 Before
she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a
man child.
24-1:6 Then
said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
24-1:7 But
the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a
child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall
send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
24-4:31 For
I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
24-20:15 Cursed
be the man who brought tidings to my
father, saying, A man child is born unto thee;
making him very glad.
24-30:6 Ask
ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child?
wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in
travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
24-31:8 Behold,
I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of
the earth, and with them the blind
and the lame, the woman with child and her that
travaileth with child together: a great company
shall return thither.
24-31:20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him
still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon
him, saith the LORD.
24-44:7 Therefore
now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit
ye this great evil against your
souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child
and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
25-4:4 The
tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof
of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto
them.
28-11:1 When
Israel was a child,
then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
28-13:16 Samaria
shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall
by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
30-1:13 Thus
saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for
four, I will not turn away the punishment
thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
40-1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on
this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came
together, she was found with child of the Holy
Ghost.
40-1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall
call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
40-2:8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and
said, Go and search diligently for the young child;
and when ye have found him, bring me word
again, that I may come and worship him also.
40-2:9 When they had heard the king, they
departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till
it came and stood over where the young child
was.
40-2:11 And when they were come into the
house, they saw the young child with Mary his
mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their
treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
40-2:13 And when they were departed, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take
the young child and his mother, and flee into
Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young
child to destroy him.
40-2:14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into
Egypt:
40-2:20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel:
for they are dead which sought the young child’s
life.
40-2:21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of
Israel.
40-10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the
brother to death, and the father the child: and
the children shall rise up against their parents,
and cause them to be put to death.
40-17:18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he
departed out of him: and the child was cured
from that very hour.
40-18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
40-18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble
himself as this little child, the same is
greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
40-18:5 And whoso shall receive one such
little child in my name receiveth me.
40-23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is
made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell
than yourselves.
40-24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
41-9:21 And he asked his father, How long is
it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
41-9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe;
help thou mine unbelief.
41-9:36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he
had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
41-10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever
shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child,
he shall not enter therein.
41-13:17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
42-1:7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they
both were now well stricken in years.
42-1:59 And it came to pass, that on the
eighth day they came to circumcise the child;
and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
