54-1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies,
which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
54-4:7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
55-4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables.
56-1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the
truth.
61-1:16 For we have not followed cunningly
devised fables, when
we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were
eyewitnesses of his majesty.

01-GENESIS
01-1:2 And
the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And
the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters.
01-1:29 And
God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face
of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
01-2:6 But
there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
01-3:19 In
the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till
thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
01-4:14 Behold,
thou hast driven me out this day from the face
of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid;
and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to
pass, that every one that findeth me
shall slay me.
01-6:1 And
it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face
of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
01-6:7 And
the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the
creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made
them.
01-7:3 Of
fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive
upon the face of all the earth.
01-7:4 For
yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty
nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the
face of the earth.
01-7:18 And
the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark
went upon the face of the waters.
01-7:23 And
every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things,
and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah
only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
01-8:8 Also
he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
01-8:9 But
the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into
the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand,
and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
01-8:13 And
it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and
Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
01-11:4 And
they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make
us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face
of the whole earth.
01-11:8 So
the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face
of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
01-11:9 Therefore
is the name of it called
01-16:6 But
Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is
in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly
with her, she fled from her face.
01-16:8 And
he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And
she said, I flee from the face of my mistress
Sarai.
01-17:3 And
Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him,
saying,
01-17:17 Then
Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and
said in his heart, Shall a child be
born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety
years old, bear?
01-19:1 And
there came two angels to
01-19:13 For
we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy
it.
01-24:47 And
I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art
thou? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor’s son, whom Milcah bare
unto him: and I put the earring upon her face,
and the bracelets upon her hands.
01-30:33 So
shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my
hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the
goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me.
01-31:21 So
he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and
set his face toward
the
01-32:20 And
say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is
behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth
before me, and afterward I will see his face;
peradventure he will accept of me.
01-32:30 And
Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my
life is preserved.
01-33:10 And
Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then
receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.
01-35:1 And
God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to
01-35:7 And
he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God
appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of
his brother.
01-36:6 And
Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his
house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had
got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.
01-38:15 When
01-41:56 And
the famine was over all the face of the earth:
And Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the
famine waxed sore in the
01-43:3 And
Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye
shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.
01-43:5 But
if thou wilt not send him, we will
not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.
01-43:31 And
he washed his face, and went out, and refrained
himself, and said, Set on bread.
01-44:23 And
thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you,
ye shall see my face no more.
01-44:26 And
we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go
down: for we may not see the man’s face, except
our youngest brother be with us.
01-46:28 And
he sent
01-46:30 And
01-48:11 And
01-48:12 And
Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
01-50:1 And
Joseph fell upon his father’s face, and wept
upon him, and kissed him.
01-50:18 And
his brethren also went and fell down before his face;
and they said, Behold, we be thy
servants.
02-2:15 Now
when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the
face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the
02-3:6 Moreover
he said, I am the God of thy father,
the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
02-10:5 And
they shall cover the face of the earth, that one
cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which
is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree
which groweth for you out of the field:
02-10:15 For
they covered the face of the whole earth, so
that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all
the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any
green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the
02-10:28 And
Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou
shalt die.
02-10:29 And
Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face
again no more.
02-14:19 And
the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind
them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
02-14:25 And
took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the
Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of
02-16:14 And
when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face
of the wilderness there lay a small
round thing, as small as the hoar
frost on the ground.
02-32:12 Wherefore
should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to
slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and
repent of this evil against thy people.
02-33:11 And
the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned
again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man,
departed not out of the tabernacle.
02-33:16 For
wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy
sight? is it not in that thou goest
with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face
of the earth.
02-33:20 And
he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there
shall no man see me, and live.
02-33:23 And
I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
02-34:29 And
it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of
testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not
that the skin of his face shone while he talked
with him.
02-34:30 And
when Aaron and all the children of
02-34:33 And
till Moses had done speaking with
them, he put a vail on his face.
02-34:35 And

03-13:41 And
he that hath his hair fallen off from the part of his head toward his face, he is forehead
bald: yet is he clean.
03-17:10 And
whatsoever man there be of the house
of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner
of blood; I will even set my face against that
soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
03-19:32 Thou
shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face
of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the
LORD.
03-20:3 And
I will set my face against that man, and will
cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto
Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
03-20:5 Then
I will set my face against that man, and against
his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to
commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.
03-20:6 And
the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards,
to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face
against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
03-26:17 And
I will set my face against you, and ye shall be
slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye
shall flee when none pursueth you.
04-6:25 The
LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be
gracious unto thee:
04-11:31 And
there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let
them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s
journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round
about the camp, and as it were two cubits high
upon the face of the earth.
04-12:3 (Now
the man Moses was very meek, above
all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
04-12:14 And
the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be
shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
04-14:14 And
they will tell it to the inhabitants
of this land: for they have heard
that thou LORD art among this people,
that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy
cloud standeth over them, and that thou
goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire
by night.
04-16:4 And
when Moses heard it, he fell upon his
face:
04-19:3 And
ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without
the camp, and one shall slay her
before his face:
04-22:5 He
sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the
children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out
from
04-22:11 Behold,
there is a people come out of
04-22:31 Then
the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in
the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell
flat on his face.
04-24:1 And
when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless
05-1:17 Ye
shall not respect persons in judgment; but
ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the
face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard
for you, bring it unto me, and I will
hear it.
05-5:4 The
LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
05-6:15 (For
the LORD thy God is a jealous God
among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and
destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
05-7:6 For
thou art an holy people unto the LORD
thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself,
above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
05-7:10 And
repayeth them that hate him to their face, to
destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to
his face.
05-8:20 As
the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face,
so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD
your God.
05-9:3 Understand
therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is
he which goeth over before thee; as a
consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly,
as the LORD hath said unto thee.
05-25:2 And
it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy
to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten
before his face, according to his fault, by a
certain number.
05-25:9 Then
shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose
his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face,
and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build
up his brother’s house.
05-28:7 The
LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before
thy face: they shall come out against thee one
way, and flee before thee seven ways.
05-28:31 Thine
ox shall be slain before thine eyes,
and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall
be violently taken away from before thy face,
and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to
rescue them.
05-31:5 And
the LORD shall give them up before your face,
that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have
commanded you.
05-31:17 Then
my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them,
and I will hide my face from them, and they
shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they
will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
05-31:18 And
I will surely hide my face in that day for all
the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other
gods.
05-32:20 And
he said, I will hide my face from them, I will
see what their end shall be: for they
are a very froward generation,
children in whom is no faith.
05-34:10 And
there arose not a prophet since in

he said, Nay; but as captain of the
host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face
to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his
servant?
06-7:6 And
Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the

threshold; only the stump of Dagon
was left to him.

kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies
of David every one from the face of the earth.
09-20:41 And as soon as the lad was gone, David
arose out of a place toward the south,

09-24:8 David
also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying,
My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.

09-26:20 Now
therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the LORD: for the king of

that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou
first bring Michal Saul’s daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

the request of his servant.
10-14:24 And
the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw

Absalom dwelt two full years in
10-14:32 And
Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I
may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore
let me see the king’s face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.
10-14:33 So
Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he
came to the king, and bowed himself on his face
to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.

came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
11-20:38 So
the prophet departed, and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself
with ashes upon his face.

the child.
12-4:31 And
Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to
meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

Who is on my side? who? And there
looked out to him two or three
eunuchs.
12-9:37 And
the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face
of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so
that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

the LORD and his strength, seek his face
continually.

congregation of
14-6:42 O
LORD God, turn not away the face of thine
anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.
14-7:14 If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their
land.
14-20:18 And
Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants

Amaziah king of

Joash the king of
14-30:9 For
if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that
lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD
your God is gracious and merciful,
and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
14-32:21 And
the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the

Josiah would not turn his face from him, but
disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the
words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of
Megiddo.
15-9:6 And
said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face
to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.
15-9:7 Since
the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day;
and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and
our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the
sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this
day.
17-1:14 And
the next unto him was Carshena,
Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and
Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king’s face, and which
sat the first in the kingdom;)
17-7:8 Then
the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of
wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in
the house? As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.
18-1:11 But
put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to
thy face.
18-2:5 But
put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse
thee to thy face.
18-4:15 Then
a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my
flesh stood up:
18-11:15 For
then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea,
thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
18-13:24 Wherefore
hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine
enemy?
18-15:27 Because
he covereth his face with his fatness, and
maketh collops of fat on his flanks.
18-16:8 And
thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is
a witness against me: and my leanness
rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
18-16:16 My
face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
18-21:31 Who
shall declare his way to his face? and who shall
repay him what he hath done?
18-22:26 For
then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
18-23:17 Because
I was not cut off before the darkness, neither
hath he covered the darkness from my face.
18-24:15 The
eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see
me: and disguiseth his face.
18-26:9 He
holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
18-30:10 They
abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.
18-33:26 He
shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his
righteousness.
18-34:29 When
he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face,
who then can behold him? whether it be
done against a nation, or against a man only:
18-37:12 And
it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he
commandeth them upon the face of the world in
the earth.
18-38:30 The
waters are hid as with a stone, and
the face of the deep is frozen.
18-41:13 Who
can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?
18-41:14 Who
can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.
19-5:8 Lead
me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight
before my face.
19-10:11 He
hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
19-13:1 How
long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
19-17:15 As
for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness:
I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
19-21:12 Therefore
shalt thou make them turn their back, when
thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon
thy strings against the face of them.
19-22:24 For
he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath
he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto
him, he heard.
19-24:6 This
is the generation of them that seek
him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
19-27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
19-27:9 Hide
not thy face far
from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave
me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
19-30:7 LORD,
by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I
was troubled.
19-31:16 Make
thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for
thy mercies’ sake.
19-34:16 The
face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them
from the earth.
19-41:12 And
as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
19-44:15 My
confusion is continually before me,
and the shame of my face hath covered me,
19-44:24 Wherefore
hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
19-51:9 Hide
thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine
iniquities.
19-67:1 God
be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause
his face to shine upon us; Selah.
19-69:7 Because
for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
19-69:17 And
hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble:
hear me speedily.
19-80:3 Turn
us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine;
and we shall be saved.
19-80:7 Turn
us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to
shine; and we shall be saved.
19-80:19 Turn
us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to
shine; and we shall be saved.
19-84:9 Behold,
O God our shield, and look upon the face of
thine anointed.
19-88:14 LORD,
why castest thou off my soul? why hidest
thou thy face from me?
19-89:14 Justice
and judgment are the habitation of
thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
19-89:23 And
I will beat down his foes before his face, and
plague them that hate him.
19-102:2 Hide
not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear
unto me: in the day when I call
answer me speedily.
19-104:15 And
wine that maketh glad the heart of
man, and oil to make his face
to shine, and bread which strengtheneth
man’s heart.
19-104:29 Thou
hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest
away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
19-104:30 Thou
sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
19-105:4 Seek
the LORD, and his strength: seek his face
evermore.
19-119:135 Make
thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me
thy statutes.
19-132:10 For
thy servant David’s sake turn not away the face
of thine anointed.
19-143:7 Hear
me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face
from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
20-7:13 So
she caught him, and kissed him, and with
an impudent face said unto him,
20-7:15 Therefore
came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face,
and I have found thee.
20-8:27 When
he prepared the heavens, I was there:
when he set a compass upon the face of the
depth:
20-21:29 A
wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his
way.
20-24:31 And,
lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and
nettles had covered the face thereof, and
the stone wall thereof was broken down.
20-27:19 As
in water face answereth to face, so the heart of
man to man.
21-8:1 Who
is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom
maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of
his face shall be changed.
23-6:2 Above
it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with
twain he did fly.
23-8:17 And
I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from
the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
23-14:21 Prepare
slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not
rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of
the world with cities.
23-16:4 Let
mine outcasts dwell with thee,
23-23:17 And
it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit
Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the
kingdoms of the world upon the face of the
earth.
23-25:7 And
he will destroy in this mountain the face of the
covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
23-27:6 He
shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root:
23-28:25 When
he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not
cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal
wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place?
23-29:22 Therefore
thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob
shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face
now wax pale.
23-36:9 How
then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain
of the least of my master’s servants, and put thy trust on
23-38:2 Then
Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and
prayed unto the LORD,
23-49:23 And
kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they
shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy
feet; and thou shalt know that I am the
LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
23-50:6 I
gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I
hid not my face from shame and spitting.
23-50:7 For
the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have
I set my face like a flint, and I know that I
shall not be ashamed.
23-54:8 In
a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a
moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD
thy Redeemer.
23-59:2 But
your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid
his face
from you, that he will not hear.
23-64:7 And
there is none that calleth upon thy
name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our
iniquities.
23-65:3 A
people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face;
that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
24-1:13 And
the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And
I said, I see a seething pot; and the face
thereof is toward the north.
24-2:27 Saying
to a stock, Thou art my father; and
to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face:
but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
24-4:30 And
when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with
crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest
thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make
thyself fair; thy lovers will despise
thee, they will seek thy life.
24-8:2 And
they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of
heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they
have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they
shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.
24-13:26 Therefore
will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that
thy shame may appear.
24-16:4 They
shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be
buried; but they shall be as dung
upon the face of the earth: and they shall be
consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the
fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
24-16:17 For
mine eyes are upon all their ways:
they are not hid from my face, neither is their
iniquity hid from mine eyes.
24-18:17 I
will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the
back, and not the face, in the day of their
calamity.
24-21:10 For
I have set my face against this city for evil,
and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king
of
24-22:25 And
I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face
thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of
24-25:26 And
all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the
kingdoms of the world, which are upon
the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach
shall drink after them.
24-28:16 Therefore
thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because
thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD.
24-32:31 For
this city hath been to me as a
provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto
this day; that I should remove it from before my face,
24-32:33 And
they have turned unto me the back, and not the face:
though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
24-33:5 They
come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it
is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine
anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
24-44:11 Therefore
thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all
25-2:19 Arise,
cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like
water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy
hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in
the top of every street.
25-3:35 To
turn aside the right of a man before the face of
the most High,
26-1:10 As
for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face
of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right
side: and they four had the face of an ox on the
left side; they four also had the face of an
eagle.
26-1:28 As
the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness
round about. This was the appearance
of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard
a voice of one that spake.
26-3:8 Behold,
I have made thy face strong against their faces,
and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
26-3:23 Then
I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD
stood there, as the glory which I saw by the
26-4:3 Moreover
take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for
a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou
shalt lay siege against it. This shall be
a sign to the house of
26-4:7 Therefore
thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of
26-6:2 Son
of man, set thy face toward the mountains of
26-7:22 My
face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute
my secret place: for the robbers
shall enter into it, and defile it.
26-9:8 And
it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon
my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt
thou destroy all the residue of
26-10:14 And
every one had four faces: the first face was the face
of a cherub, and the second face was the face
of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and
the fourth the face of an eagle.
26-11:13 And
it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then
fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud
voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of
26-12:6 In
their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the
twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou
see not the ground: for I have set thee for
a sign unto the house of
26-12:12 And
the prince that is among them shall
bear upon his shoulder in the twilight,
and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he
shall cover his face, that he see not the ground
with his eyes.
26-13:17 Likewise,
thou son of man, set thy face against the
daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy
thou against them,
26-14:3 Son
of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the
stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face:
should I be enquired of at all by them?
26-14:4 Therefore
speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the
house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the
stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face,
and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to
the multitude of his idols;
26-14:7 For
every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel,
which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and
putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face,
and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer
him by myself:
26-14:8 And
I will set my face against that man, and will
make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my
people; and ye shall know that I am the
LORD.
26-15:7 And
I will set my face against them; they shall go
out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye
shall know that I am the LORD, when I
set my face against them.
26-20:35 And
I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with
you face to face.
26-20:46 Son
of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy
against the forest of the south field;
26-21:2 Son
of man, set thy face toward
26-21:16 Go
thee one way or other, either on the
right hand, or on the left,
whithersoever thy face is set.
26-25:2 Son
of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and
prophesy against them;
26-28:21 Son
of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy
against it,
26-29:2 Son
of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of
26-34:6 My
sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my
flock was scattered upon all the face of the
earth, and none did search or seek after
them.
26-35:2 Son
of man, set thy face against
26-38:2 Son
of man, set thy face against Gog, the
26-38:18 And
it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the
26-38:20 So
that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the
field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face
of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown
down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
26-39:14 And
they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to
bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face
of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
26-39:23 And
the heathen shall know that the house of
26-39:24 According
to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto
them, and hid my face from them.
26-39:29 Neither
will I hide my face any more from them: for I have
poured out my spirit upon the house of
26-40:15 And
from the face of the gate of the entrance unto
the face of the porch of the inner gate were fifty cubits.
26-41:14 Also
the breadth of the face of the house, and of the
separate place toward the east, an hundred cubits.
26-41:19 So
that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other
side: it was made through all the
house round about.
26-41:21 The
posts of the temple were squared, and the face
of the sanctuary; the appearance of the
one as the appearance of the other.
26-41:25 And
there were made on them, on the doors
of the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there
were thick planks upon the face of the porch
without.
26-43:3 And
it was according to the appearance of
the vision which I saw, even according
to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the
river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.
26-44:4 Then
brought he me the way of the north gate before the house: and I looked, and,
behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD: and I fell upon my face.
27-2:46 Then
the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and
worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet
odours unto him.
27-8:5 And
as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground:
and the goat had a notable horn
between his eyes.
27-8:17 So
he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man:
for at the time of the end shall be the
vision.
27-8:18 Now
as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
27-9:3 And
I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by
prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
27-9:8 O
Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our
fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
27-9:17 Now
therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications,
and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary
that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.
27-10:6 His
body also was like the beryl, and his
face as the appearance of lightning, and his
eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished
brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
27-10:9 Yet
heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then
was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
27-10:15 And
when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face
toward the ground, and I became dumb.
27-11:17 He
shall also set his face to enter with the
strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and
he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not
stand on his side, neither be for
him.
27-11:18 After
this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and
shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach
offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
27-11:19 Then
he shall turn his face toward the fort of his
own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.
28-5:5 And
the pride of
28-5:15 I
will go and return to my place, till
they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face:
in their affliction they will seek me early.
28-7:2 And
they consider not in their hearts that I
remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they
are before my face.
28-7:10 And
the pride of
29-2:6 Before
their face the people shall be much pained: all
faces shall gather blackness.
29-2:20 But
I will remove far off from you the northern army,
and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the
utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up,
because he hath done great things.
30-5:8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and
Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day
dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out
upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
30-9:6 It is he that buildeth his stories in
the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the
waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face
of the earth: The LORD is his name.
30-9:8 Behold,
the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the
sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face
of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith
the LORD.
33-3:4 Then
shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved
themselves ill in their doings.
34-2:1 He
that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face:
keep the munition, watch the way, make thy
loins strong, fortify thy power
mightily.
34-3:5 Behold,
I am against thee, saith the LORD of
hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face,
and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
38-5:3 Then
said he unto me, This is the curse
that goeth forth over the face of the whole
earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall
be cut off as on that side according
to it.
40-6:17 But
thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
40-11:10 For
this is he, of whom it is written,
Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,
which shall prepare thy way before thee.
40-16:3 And
in the morning, It will be foul
weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face
of the sky; but can ye not discern the
signs of the times?
40-17:2 And
was transfigured before them: and his face did
shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
40-17:6 And
when the disciples heard it, they
fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
40-18:10 Take
heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in
