01-2:24 Therefore
shall a man leave his father and his mother, and
shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

fear not, for I am with thee, and

01-27:6 And
Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,
01-27:9 Go now to
the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make
them savoury meat for thy father, such as he
loveth:
01-27:10 And thou
shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee
before his death.
01-27:12 My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to
him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.
01-27:14 And he
went, and fetched, and brought them to
his mother: and his mother made savoury meat, such as his father loved.
01-27:18 And he
came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my
son?
01-27:19 And Jacob
said unto his father, I am Esau thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me:
arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.
01-27:22 And Jacob
went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt
him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s
voice, but the hands are the hands of
Esau.
01-27:26 And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss
me, my son.
01-27:30 And it
came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was
yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father,
that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
01-27:31 And he
also had made savoury meat, and brought it unto his father,
and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son’s venison, that thy
soul may bless me.
01-27:32 And Isaac
his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.
01-27:34 And when
Esau heard the words of his father, he cried
with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even
me also, O my father.
01-27:38 And Esau
said unto his father, Hast thou but one
blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
01-27:39 And Isaac
his father answered and said unto him, Behold,
thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from
above;
01-27:41 And Esau
hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father
blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
01-28:2 Arise, go
to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother’s father;
and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother’s
brother.
01-28:7 And that
Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was
gone to Padanaram;
01-28:8 And Esau
seeing that the daughters of
01-28:13 And,
behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father,
and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and
to thy seed;
01-29:12 And Jacob

01-31:5 And said
unto them, I see your father’s countenance,
that it is not toward me as before;
but the God of my father hath been with me.

times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou

said to her father, Let it not displease my lord
that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched, but found not the images.
01-31:42 Except the
God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the
fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath
seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
01-31:53 The God of

Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to
thee to the earth?
01-37:11 And his
brethren envied him; but his father observed the

01-37:22 And Reuben
said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast
him into this pit that is in the
wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands,
to deliver him to his father again.
01-37:32 And they
sent the coat of many colours, and
they brought it to their father; and said, This have we found: know now whether
it be thy son’s coat or no.
01-37:35 And all
his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be
comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning.
Thus his father wept for him.
01-38:13 And it was
told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law
goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep.
01-38:25 When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said,
Discern, I pray thee, whose are these,
the signet, and bracelets, and staff.

came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of
Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again,
buy us a little food.
01-43:7 And they
said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father
yet alive? have ye another brother?
and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know
that he would say, Bring your brother down?
01-43:8 And Judah
said unto
01-43:11 And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in
your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little
honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:
01-43:23 And he
said, Peace be to you, fear not: your
God, and the God of your father, hath given you
treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.
01-43:27 And he
asked them of their welfare, and
said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive?
01-43:28 And they
answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their
heads, and made obeisance.
01-44:17 And he
said, God forbid that I should do so: but
the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for
you, get you up in peace unto your father.
01-44:19 My lord
asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or
a brother?
01-44:20 And we
said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man,
and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone
is left of his mother, and his father loveth
him.
01-44:22 And we
said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father:
for if he should leave his father, his father would die.
01-44:24 And it
came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father,
we told him the words of my lord.
01-44:25 And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.
01-44:27 And thy
servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my
wife bare me two sons:
01-44:30 Now
therefore when I come to thy servant my father,
and the lad be not with us; seeing
that his life is bound up in the lad’s life;
01-44:31 It shall
come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is
not with us, that he will die:
and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave.
01-44:32 For thy
servant became surety for the lad unto my father,
saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.
01-44:34 For how
shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see
the evil that shall come on my father.
01-45:3 And
Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph;
doth my father yet live? And his brethren could
not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.
01-45:8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a
ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
01-45:9 Haste ye,
and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus
saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me,
tarry not:
01-45:13 And ye
shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt,
and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.
01-45:18 And take
your father and your households, and come unto
me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat
of the land.
01-45:19 Now thou
art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your
little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father,
and come.
01-45:23 And to his
father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she
asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father
by the way.
01-45:25 And they
went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father,
01-45:27 And they
told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw
the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:
01-46:1 And
Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and
offered sacrifices unto the God of his father
Isaac.
01-46:3 And he
said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will
there make of thee a great nation:
01-46:5 And Jacob
rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the
wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
01-46:29 And Joseph
made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father,
to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on
his neck a good while.
01-47:1 Then
Joseph came and told Pharaoh, and said, My father
and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are
come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.
01-47:5 And
Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, saying, Thy father
and thy brethren are come unto thee:
01-47:6 The land
of Egypt is before thee; in the best
of the land make thy father and brethren to
dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then
make them rulers over my cattle.
01-47:7 And
Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him
before Pharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.
01-47:11 And Joseph
placed his father and his brethren, and gave
them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of
Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
01-47:12 And Joseph
nourished his father, and his brethren, and all
his father’s household, with bread,
according to their families.
01-48:1 And it
came to pass after these things, that one
told Joseph, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two
sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
01-48:9 And Joseph
said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will
bless them.
01-48:17 And when
Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand
upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head
unto Manasseh’s head.
01-48:18 And Joseph
said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is
the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
01-48:19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he
also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother
shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
01-49:2 Gather
yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
01-49:25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who
shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that
lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
01-49:26 The
blessings of thy father have prevailed above the
blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills:
they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that
was separate from his brethren.
01-49:28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and
this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one
according to his blessing he blessed them.
01-50:2 And
Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.
01-50:5 My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave
which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now
therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father,
and I will come again.
01-50:6 And
Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father,
according as he made thee swear.
01-50:7 And
Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him
went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the
elders of the land of Egypt,
01-50:10 And they
came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is
beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore
lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father
seven days.
01-50:14 And Joseph
returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to
bury his father, after he had buried his father.
01-50:15 And when
Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was
dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite
us all the evil which we did unto him.
01-50:16 And they
sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father
did command before he died, saying,
01-50:17 So shall
ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and
their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the
trespass of the servants of the God of thy father.
And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.
02-2:18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?
02-3:1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro
his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he
led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
02-3:6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the
God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
02-4:18 And Moses went and returned to
Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let
me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to
Moses, Go in peace.
02-18:1 When Jethro, the priest of Midian,
Moses’ father in law, heard of all that God had
done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and
that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
02-18:2 Then Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he
had sent her back,
02-18:4 And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he,
was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:
02-18:5 And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto
Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:
02-18:6 And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife,
and her two sons with her.
02-18:7 And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and
they asked each other of their welfare;
and they came into the tent.
02-18:8 And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh
and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, and
all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.
02-18:12 And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices
for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses’
father in law before God.
02-18:14 And when Moses’ father in law saw all that he did to the people, he
said, What is this thing that thou
doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand
by thee from morning unto even?
02-18:15 And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to
enquire of God:
02-18:17 And Moses’ father
in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.
02-18:24 So Moses hearkened to the voice of
his father in law, and did all that he had said.
02-18:27 And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own
land.
02-20:12 Honour thy father
and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God
giveth thee.
02-21:15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
02-21:17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
02-22:17 If her father
utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry
of virgins.
02-40:15 And thou shalt anoint them, as thou
didst anoint their father, that they may
minister unto me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall surely be an
everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.
03-18:7 The
nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy
mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy
mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
03-18:9 The
nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father,
or daughter of thy mother, whether she be
born at home, or born abroad, even their
nakedness thou shalt not uncover.
03-18:11 The
nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter,
begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
03-19:3 Ye shall
fear every man his mother, and his father, and
keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your
God.
03-20:9 For every
one that curseth his father or his mother shall
be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father
or his mother; his blood shall be upon
him.
03-21:2 But for
his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for
his mother, and for his father, and for his son,
and for his daughter, and for his brother,
03-21:9 And the
daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she
profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with
fire.
03-21:11 Neither
shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;
03-24:10 And the
son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the
children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;
04-3:4 And
Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the
LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and
Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.
04-3:24 And the
chief of the house of the father of the
Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son
of Lael.
04-3:30 And the
chief of the house of the father of the families
of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan

take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.

and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.

Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father
and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels
of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the
Levite went in.

when the man rose up to depart, his father in
law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.

he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart: and the damsel’s father said, Comfort thine heart, I pray thee. And
they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them.

when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel’s father,
said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all
night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be
merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.

man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines’
garrison, that is on the other side.

Jonathan heard not when his father charged the
people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb,
and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.
09-14:28 Then
answered one of the people, and said, Thy father
straitly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food
this day. And the people were faint.
09-14:29 Then
said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land:
see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little
of this honey.

Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father,
and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David;
because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:
09-20:1 And
David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I
done? what is mine iniquity? and what
is my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
09-20:2 And
he said unto him, God forbid; thou shalt not die: behold, my father will do nothing either great or small, but that
he will shew it me: and why should my father
hide this thing from me? it is not so.
09-20:3 And
David sware moreover, and said, Thy father certainly
knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan
know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as
the LORD liveth, and as thy soul
liveth, there is but a step between
me and death.
09-20:6 If
thy father at all miss me, then say, David
earnestly asked leave of me that he
might run to Bethlehem his city: for there
is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.
09-20:8 Therefore
thou shalt deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into
a covenant of the LORD with thee: notwithstanding, if there be in me iniquity,
slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?
09-20:9 And
Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were
determined by my father to come upon thee, then
would not I tell it thee?
09-20:10 Then
said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what if thy father answer thee roughly?
09-20:12 And
Jonathan said unto David, O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about to morrow any time, or the third day, and,
behold, if there be good toward
David, and I then send not unto thee, and shew it thee;
09-20:13 The
LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father to do thee
evil, then I will shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in
peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.
09-20:32 And
Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto
him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what hath he done?
09-20:33 And
Saul cast a javelin at him to smite him: whereby Jonathan knew that it was
determined of his father to slay David.
09-20:34 So
Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the second
day of the month: for he was grieved for David, because his father had done him shame.
09-22:3 And
David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God
will do for me.
09-22:15 Did
I then begin to enquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king
impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less
or more.

he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father
shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next
unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.

my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe
in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not,
know thou and see that there is neither
evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet
thou huntest my soul to take it.

in Bethlehem. And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron
at break of day.

the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and
before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over
Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the
stripes of the children of men:

David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for
Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore

said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to
comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father.
And David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.

the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou
that David doth honour thy father, that he hath
sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather
sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to
overthrow it?

Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and

died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.

thy servant, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city, and be buried by the grave of my father and of my mother. But behold thy servant
Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem
good unto thee.

the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether,

king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart
is privy to, that thou didst to David my father:
therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head;

Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high

Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee

11-3:7 And
now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am
but a little child: I know not how to
go out or come in.
11-3:14 And
if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.
11-5:1 And
Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had
anointed him king in the room of his father: for
Hiram was ever a lover of David.
11-5:3 Thou
knowest how that David my father could not build
an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on
every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
11-5:5 And,
behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the
LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son,
whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my
name.
11-6:12 Concerning this house which thou art in
building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep
all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee,
which I spake unto David thy father:
11-7:14 He
was a widow’s son of the tribe of
Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with
wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came
to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.
11-7:51 So
was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And
Solomon brought in the things which David his father
had dedicated; even the silver, and
the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the
LORD.
11-8:15 And
he said, Blessed be the LORD God of
Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father,
and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
11-8:17 And
it was in the heart of David my father to build
an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
11-8:18 And
the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it
was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was
in thine heart.
11-8:20 And
the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room
of David my father, and sit on the throne of
Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD
God of Israel.
11-8:24 Who
hast kept with thy servant David my father that
thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.
11-8:25 Therefore
now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee
a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take
heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
11-8:26 And
now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou
spakest unto thy servant David my father.
11-9:4 And
if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father
walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that
I have commanded thee, and wilt keep
my statutes and my judgments:
11-9:5 Then
I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised
to David thy father, saying, There shall not
fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
11-11:4 For
it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that
his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not
perfect with the LORD his God, as was the
heart of David his father.
11-11:6 And
Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD,
as did David his father.
11-11:27 And
this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built
Millo, and repaired the breaches of
the city of David his father.
11-11:33 Because
that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the
Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children
of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.
11-11:43 And
Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
11-12:4 Thy
father made our yoke grievous: now therefore
make thou the grievous service of thy father,
and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.
11-12:6 And
king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise
that I may answer this people?
11-12:9 And
he said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who
have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father
did put upon us lighter?
11-12:10 And
the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt
thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say
unto them, My little finger shall be
thicker than my father’s loins.
11-12:11 And
now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy
yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath
chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
11-12:14 And
spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your
yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with
scorpions.
11-13:11 Now
there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the
works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had
spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.
11-13:12 And
their father said unto them, What way went he?
For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.
11-15:3 And
he walked in all the sins of his father, which
he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as
the heart of David his father.
11-15:11 And
Asa did that which was right in the
eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.
11-15:15 And
he brought in the things which his father had dedicated,
and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver,
and gold, and vessels.
11-15:19 There is a league between me and thee, and between my father
and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a
present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of
Israel, that he may depart from me.
11-15:24 And
Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of
David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son
reigned in his stead.
11-15:26 And
he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
11-19:20 And
he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for
what have I done to thee?
11-20:34 And
Benhadad said unto him, The cities,
which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets
for thee in Damascus, as my father made in
Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send thee
away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.
11-22:43 And
he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he
turned not aside from it, doing that
which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were
not taken away; for the people
offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.
11-22:46 And
the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.
11-22:50 And
Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city
of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned
in his stead.
11-22:52 And
he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way
of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:
11-22:53 For
he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of
Israel, according to all that his father had
done.
12-2:12 And
Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the
chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he
took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
12-3:2 And
he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image
of Baal that his father had made.
12-3:13 And
Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to
the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets
of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath
called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.
12-4:18 And
when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.
12-4:19 And
he said unto his father, My head, my head. And
he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.
12-5:13 And
his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the
prophet had bid thee do some great
thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how
much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
12-6:21 And
the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?
12-9:25 Then
said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take
up, and cast him in the portion of
the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode
together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid
this burden upon him;
12-13:14 Now
Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of
Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the
chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
12-13:25 And
Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of
Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and
recovered the cities of Israel.
12-14:3 And
he did that which was right in the
sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father:
he did according to all things as Joash his father
did.
12-14:5 And
it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew
his servants which had slain the king his father.
12-14:21 And
all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was
sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.
12-15:3 And
he did that which was right in the
sight of the LORD, according to all that his father
Amaziah had done;
12-15:34 And
he did that which was right in the
sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father
Uzziah had done.
12-15:38 And
Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of
David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in
his stead.
12-16:2 Twenty
years old was Ahaz when he began to
reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his
father.
12-18:3 And
he did that which was right in the
sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father
did.
12-20:5 Turn
again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God
of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I
have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go
up unto the house of the LORD.
12-21:3 For
he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father
had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab
king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
12-21:20 And
he did that which was evil in the
sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did.
12-21:21 And
he walked in all the way that his father walked
in, and served the idols that his father served,
and worshipped them:
12-22:2 And
he did that which was right in the
sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to
the left.
12-23:34 And
Pharaohnechoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the room of Josiah his father, and turned his name to Jehoiakim, and took
Jehoahaz away: and he came to Egypt, and died there.
12-24:9 And
he did that which was evil in the
sight of the LORD, according to all that his father
had done.

Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmeelite.

afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father
of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore
years old; and she bare him Segub.

Hebron.

Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam: and
Rekem begat Shammai.

was the father
of Bethzur.

bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva
the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsa.

were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim,
13-2:51 Salma
the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the father of Bethgader.
13-2:52 And
Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim had sons;
Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites.

the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the
Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the
father of the house of Rechab.
13-4:3 And
these were of the father of Etam; Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash: and
the name of their sister was Hazelelponi:
13-4:4 And
Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, the father of Bethlehem.

Ashur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah
and Naarah.
13-4:11 And
Chelub the brother of Shuah begat Mehir, which was the father of Eshton.
13-4:12 And

will be his father, and he shall be my son: and
I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was
before thee:

David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent
messengers to comfort him concerning his father.
So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun,
to comfort him.
13-19:3 But
the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David
doth honour thy father, that he hath sent
comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to
overthrow, and to spy out the land?
13-22:10 He
shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father;
and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
13-24:2 But
Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and
had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest’s office.
13-24:19 These
were the orderings of them in their
service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under
Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel
had commanded him.
13-25:3 Of
Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah,
and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father
Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.
13-25:6 All
these were under the hands of their father for song in
the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service
of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and
Heman.
13-26:6 Also
unto Shemaiah his son were sons born, that ruled throughout the house of their father: for they were
mighty men of valour.
13-26:10 Also
Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons; Simri the chief, (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his
father made him the chief;)
13-28:4 Howbeit
the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath
chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of
the house of Judah, the house of my father; and
among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:
13-28:6 And
he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I
have chosen him to be my son, and I
will be his father.
13-28:9 And
thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father,
and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD
searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts:
if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will
cast thee off for ever.
13-29:10 Wherefore
David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
13-29:23 Then
Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
14-1:8 And
Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.
14-1:9 Now,
O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father
be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the
earth in multitude.
14-2:3 And
Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David
my father, and didst send him cedars to build
him an house to dwell therein, even so
deal with me.
14-2:7 Send
me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave
with the cunning men that are with me
in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father
did provide.
14-2:14 The
son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father
was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in
gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in
blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving,
and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men,
and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father.
14-2:17 And
Solomon numbered all the strangers that were
in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an
hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.
14-3:1 Then
Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah,
where the Lord appeared unto David
his father, in the place that David had prepared
in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
14-4:16 The
pots also, and the shovels, and the fleshhooks, and all their instruments, did
Huram his father make to king Solomon for the
house of the LORD of bright brass.
14-5:1 Thus
all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished: and
Solomon brought in all the things
that David his father had dedicated; and the
silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of
the house of God.
14-6:4 And
he said, Blessed be the LORD God of
Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that
which he spake with his mouth to my father
David, saying,
14-6:7 Now
it was in the heart of David my father to build
an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
14-6:8 But
the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as
it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it
was in thine heart:
14-6:10 The
LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up
in the room of David my father, and am set on
the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the
name of the LORD God of Israel.
14-6:15 Thou
which hast kept with thy servant David my father
that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast
fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.
14-6:16 Now
therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying,
There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel;
yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast
walked before me.
14-7:17 And
as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father
walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe
my statutes and my judgments;
14-7:18 Then
will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with
David thy father, saying, There shall not fail
thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
14-8:14 And
he appointed, according to the order of David his father,
the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges,
to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the
porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God
commanded.
14-9:31 And
Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
14-10:4 Thy
father made our yoke grievous: now therefore
ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father,
and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee.
14-10:6 And
king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give
ye me to return answer to this
people?
14-10:9 And
he said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this
people, which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put upon us?
14-10:10 And
the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt
thou answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou
say unto them, My little finger shall
be thicker than my father’s loins.
14-10:11 For

will put more to your yoke: my father chastised
you with whips, but I will chastise you with
scorpions.

he brought into the house of God the things that his father
had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and
vessels.

he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the
land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;
14-17:4 But
sought to the LORD God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after
the doings of Israel.
14-20:32 And
he walked in the way of Asa his father, and
departed not from it, doing that which
was right in the sight of the LORD.
14-21:3 And
their father gave them great gifts of silver,
and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the
kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was
the firstborn.
14-21:4 Now
when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father,
he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
14-21:12 And
there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the
LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast
not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father,
nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
14-22:4 Wherefore
he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his
counsellors after the death of his father to his
destruction.
14-24:22 Thus
Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he
died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and
require it.
14-25:3 Now
it came to pass, when the kingdom was established to him, that he slew his
servants that had killed the king his father.
14-26:1 Then
all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was
sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.
14-26:4 And
he did that which was right in the
sight of the LORD, according to all that his father
Amaziah did.
14-27:2 And
he did that which was right in the
sight of the LORD, according to all that his father
Uzziah did: howbeit he entered not into the temple of the LORD. And the people
did yet corruptly.
14-28:1 Ahaz
was twenty years old when he began to
reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the
LORD, like David his father:
14-29:2 And
he did that which was right in the
sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father
had done.
14-33:3 For
he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father
had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and
worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
14-33:22 But
he did that which was evil in the
sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father:
for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
14-33:23 And
humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father
had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
14-34:2 And
he did that which was right in the sight
of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father,
and declined neither to the right
hand, nor to the left.
14-34:3 For
in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after

for your Father knoweth what things ye have need
of, before ye ask him.

ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be
thy name.
40-6:14 For if ye forgive men their
trespasses, your heavenly Father will also

fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret:

this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
43-4:23 But the
hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
43-4:53 So the father knew that it
was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and
himself believed, and his whole house.

have greater witness than that of

of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that

will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
43-14:23 Jesus
answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and
make our abode with him.
43-14:26 But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name, he shall
teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I
have said unto you.
43-14:28 Ye have
heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I
go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

and have believed that I came out from God.

again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
