02-20:10 But
the seventh day is the sabbath of the
LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do
any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy
maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
05-3:5 All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many.
05-5:14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou,
nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor
thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates;
that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
05-6:9 And thou shalt write them upon the
posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
05-11:20 And
thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
05-12:12 And ye shall rejoice before the LORD
your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your
maidservants, and the Levite that is within
your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor
inheritance with you.
05-12:15 Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and
eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth
after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee:
the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the
hart.
05-12:17 Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of
thy flock, nor any of thy vows which
thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:
05-12:18 But thou must eat them before the
LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy
son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite
that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God
in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.
05-12:21 If the place which the LORD thy God
hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of
thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded
thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever
thy soul lusteth after.
05-14:21 Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the
stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto
an alien: for thou art an holy people
unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
05-14:27 And the Levite that is within thy gates;
thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
05-14:28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring
forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
05-14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no
part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the
widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied;
that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou
doest.
05-15:7 If there be among you a poor man of
one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in
thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart,
nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
05-15:22 Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.
05-16:5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the
passover within any of thy gates, which the LORD
thy God giveth thee:
05-16:11 And thou shalt rejoice before the
LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy
maidservant, and the Levite that is within
thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless,
and the widow, that are among you, in
the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
05-16:14 And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast,
thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant,
and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
05-16:18 Judges and officers shalt thou make
thee in all thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth
thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just
judgment.
05-17:2 If there be found among you, within
any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth
thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy
God, in transgressing his covenant,
05-17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man
or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that
man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
05-17:8 If there arise a matter too hard for
thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between
stroke and stroke, being matters of
controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou
arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;
05-18:6 And if a Levite come from any of thy
gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and
come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which the LORD shall
choose;
05-23:16 He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he
shall choose in one of thy gates, where it
liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.
05-24:14 Thou shalt not oppress an hired
servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy
strangers that are in thy land within
thy gates:
05-26:12 When thou hast made an end of tithing
all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow,
that they may eat within thy gates, and be
filled;
05-28:52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein
thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God
hath given thee.
05-28:55 So that he will not give to any of
them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing
left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall
distress thee in all thy gates.
05-28:57 And toward her young one that cometh
out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for
she shall eat them for want of all things
secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress
thee in thy gates.
05-31:12 Gather the people together, men, and
women, and children, and thy stranger that is
within thy gates, that they may hear, and
that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words
of this law:
06-6:26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth
up and buildeth this city
07-5:8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates:
was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in

that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing
water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages
in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.

09-23:7 And it was told Saul that David was
come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is
shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates
and bars.

gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man
running alone.
11-16:34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite

12-23:8 And he brought all the priests out of
the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned
incense, from Geba to Beersheba, and brake down the high places of the gates that were in

the city.
13-9:19 And Shallum the son of Kore, the son
of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father,
the Korahites, were over the work of
the service, keepers of the gates of the
tabernacle: and their fathers, being over
the host of the LORD, were keepers of
the entry.
13-9:22 All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates
were two hundred and twelve. These
were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the
seer did ordain in their set office.
13-9:23 So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the LORD, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.
13-22:3 And David prepared iron in abundance
for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for
the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
14-8:5 Also he built Bethhoron the upper,
and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates,
and bars;
14-14:7 Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us
build these cities, and make about them walls,
and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have
sought him, and he hath given us rest
on every side. So they built and prospered.
14-23:19 And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should
enter in.
14-31:2 And Hezekiah appointed the courses
of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his
service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings,
to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates
of the tents of the LORD.

king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the
place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste,
and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?
16-2:8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of
the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the
house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good
hand of my God upon me.
16-2:13 And I went out by night by the gate
of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed
the walls of
16-2:17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the

16-6:1 Now it came to pass, when
Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies,
heard that I had builded the wall, and that
there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the
doors upon the gates;)
16-7:3 And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and
while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every
one in his watch, and every one to be over
against his house.
16-11:19 Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and
their brethren that kept the gates, were an hundred seventy and two.
16-12:25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah,
Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters
keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.
16-12:30 And the priests and the Levites
purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates,
and the wall.
16-13:19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the
sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be
shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there
should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
16-13:22 And I commanded the Levites that they
should cleanse themselves, and that they
should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning
this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.
18-38:17 Have the gates
of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of
death?
19-9:13 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider
my trouble which I suffer of them
that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates
of death:
19-9:14 That I may shew forth all thy praise
in the gates of the daughter of

the King of glory shall come in.

19-107:16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
19-107:18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat;
and they draw near unto the gates of death.
19-118:19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:
19-122:2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
19-147:13 For he hath strengthened the bars of
thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within
thee.
20-1:21 She crieth in the chief place of
concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the
city she uttereth her words, saying,
20-8:3 She
crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at
the coming in at the doors.
20-8:34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
20-14:19 The evil bow before the good; and the
wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20-31:23 Her

among the elders of the land.
20-31:31 Give
her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
22-7:13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all
manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.
23-3:26 And her gates
shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate
shall sit upon the ground.
23-13:2 Lift ye up a banner upon the high
mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
23-26:2 Open
ye the gates, that the righteous nation which
keepeth the truth may enter in.
23-38:10 I said in the cutting off of my days,
I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am
deprived of the residue of my years.
23-45:1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed,
to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I
will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates
shall not be shut;
23-45:2 I will go before thee, and make the
crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates
of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
23-54:12 And I will make thy windows of
agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy
borders of pleasant stones.
23-60:11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor
night; that men may bring unto thee
the forces of the Gentiles, and that their
kings may be brought.
23-60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in
thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls
Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
23-62:10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast
up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.
24-1:15 For, lo, I will call all the
families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and
they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof
round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
24-7:2 Stand in the gate of the Lord’s

of the LORD, ye kings of

yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates
of
24-17:24 And it shall come to pass, if ye
diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the
sabbath day, to do no work therein;
24-17:25 Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne
of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of
Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
24-17:27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to
hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I
kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall
devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
24-22:2 And say, Hear the word of the LORD,
O king of
24-22:4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then
shall there enter in by the gates of this house
kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he,
and his servants, and his people.
24-22:19 He shall be buried with the burial of
an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of
24-49:31 Arise, get you up unto the wealthy
nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which
dwell alone.
24-51:58 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The

25-2:9 Her gates
are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and
her princes are among the Gentiles:
the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.
25-4:12 The kings of the earth, and all the
inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the
enemy should have entered into the gates of
26-21:15 I have set the point of the sword
against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.
26-21:22 At his right hand was the divination

said against
26-26:10 By reason of the abundance of his
horses their dust shall cover thee: thy walls shall shake at the noise of the
horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a
breach.
26-38:11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to
the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell
safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
26-40:18 And the pavement by the side of the gates over against the length of the gates was the
lower pavement.
26-40:38 And the chambers and the entries
thereof were by the posts of the gates, where they washed the burnt offering.
26-44:11 Yet they shall be ministers in my
sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they
shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall
stand before them to minister unto them.
26-44:17 And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with
linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.
26-48:31 And the gates
of the city shall be after the names
of the tribes of
26-48:32 And at the east side four thousand
and five hundred: and three gates; and one gate
of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan.
26-48:33 And at the south side four thousand
and five hundred measures: and three gates; one
gate of Simeon, one gate of Issachar, one gate of Zebulun.
26-48:34 At the west side four thousand and
five hundred, with their three gates; one gate of Gad, one gate of Asher, one gate of
Naphtali.
31-1:11 In the day that thou stoodest on the
other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and
foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots
upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one
of them.
34-2:6 The gates
of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
34-3:13 Behold, thy people in the midst of
thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine
enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.
38-8:16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to
his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
40-16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou
art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
44-9:24 But their laying await was known of
Saul. And they watched the gates day and night
to kill him.
44-14:13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was
before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates,
and would have done sacrifice with the people.
66-21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates,
and at the gates twelve angels, and names
written thereon, which are the names of
the twelve tribes of the children of
66-21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates;
on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
66-21:15 And he that talked with me had a
golden reed to measure the city, and the gates
thereof, and the wall thereof.
66-21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve
pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent
glass.
66-21:25 And the gates
of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
66-22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the
tree of life, and may enter in through the gates
into the city.
