01-3:6 And when
the woman saw that the tree was good
for food, and that it was pleasant to
the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one
wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
01-3:16 Unto the
woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow
thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he
shall rule over thee.
01-16:3 And Sarai
Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years
in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband
Abram to be his wife.
01-29:32 And Leah
conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely
the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.
01-29:34 And she
conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him
three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.
01-30:15 And she
said unto her, Is it a small matter
that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest
thou take away my son’s mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie
with thee to night for thy son’s mandrakes.
01-30:18 And Leah said,
God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.
01-30:20 And Leah
said, God hath endued me with a good
dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because
I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.
02-4:25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone,
and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband
art thou to me.
02-4:26 So he let him go: then she said, A
bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
02-21:22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with
child, so that her fruit depart from her,
and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the
woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall
pay as the judges determine.
03-19:20 And
whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is
a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not
at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not
be put to death, because she was not free.
03-21:3 And for
his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.
03-21:7 They
shall not take a wife that is a
whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is
holy unto his God.
04-5:13 And a man
lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither
she be taken with the manner;
04-5:19 And the
priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain
with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband,
be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:
04-5:20 But if
thou hast gone aside to another instead
of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some
man have lain with thee beside thine husband:
04-5:27 And when
he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done
trespass against her husband, that the water
that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall
rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
04-5:29 This is the law of jealousies, when a wife
goeth aside to another instead of her
husband, and is defiled;
04-30:6 And if
she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or
uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;
04-30:7 And her husband heard it,
and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound
her soul shall stand.
04-30:8 But if
her husband disallowed her on the day that he
heard it; then he shall make her vow
which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound
her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her.
04-30:11 And her husband heard it,
and held his peace at her, and disallowed
her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her
soul shall stand.
04-30:12 But if her
husband hath utterly made them void on the day
he heard them; then whatsoever
proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her
soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made
them void; and the LORD shall forgive her.
04-30:13 Every vow,
and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband
may establish it, or her husband may make it
void.
04-30:14 But if her
husband altogether hold his peace at her from
day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them,
because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
05-21:13 And she
shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine
house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou
shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and
she shall be thy wife.
05-22:22 If a man
be found lying with a woman married to an husband,
then they shall both of them die, both the
man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from
Israel.
05-22:23 If a
damsel that is a virgin be betrothed
unto an husband, and a man find her in the city,
and lie with her;
05-24:3 And if the latter husband
hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;
05-24:4 Her
former husband, which sent her away, may not
take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou
shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
05-25:11 When men
strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to
deliver her husband out of the hand of him that
smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:
05-28:56 The tender
and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her
foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil
toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her
son, and toward her daughter,
07-13:6 Then
the woman came and told her husband, saying, A
man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I
asked him not whence he was, neither
told he me his name:
07-13:9 And
God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the
woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband
was not with her.
07-13:10 And
the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband,
and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the
other day.
07-14:15 And
it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson’s wife, Entice
thy husband, that he may declare unto us the
riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye called us
to take that we have? is it not so?
07-19:3 And
her husband arose, and went after her, to speak
friendly unto her, and to bring her
again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him
into her father’s house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced
to meet him.
07-20:4 And
the Levite, the husband of the woman that was
slain, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
08-1:3 And
Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was
left, and her two sons.
08-1:5 And
Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two
sons and her husband.
08-1:9 The
LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each of
you in the house of her husband. Then she
kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.
08-1:12 Turn
again, my daughters, go your way; for
I am too old to have an husband. If I should
say, I have hope, if I should have an
husband also to night, and should also bear sons;
08-2:11 And
Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou
hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how
thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and
art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.
09-1:8 Then
said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why
weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?
09-1:22 But
Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband,
I will not go up until the child be
weaned, and then I will bring him,
that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.
09-1:23 And
Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what
seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish
his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.
09-2:19 Moreover
his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
09-4:19 And
his daughter in law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark
of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband
were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her.
09-4:21 And
she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because
the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.
09-25:19 And
she said unto her servants, Go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she
told not her husband Nabal.
10-3:15 And
Ishbosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from
Phaltiel the son of Laish.
10-3:16 And
her husband went with her along weeping behind
her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.
10-11:26 And
when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband
was dead, she mourned for her husband.
10-14:5 And
the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, I am indeed a widow woman, and mine husband is dead.
10-14:7 And,
behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and they said,
Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his
brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall
quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor
remainder upon the earth.
12-4:1 Now
there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto
Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead;
and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come
to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
12-4:9 And
she said unto her husband, Behold now, I
perceive that this is an holy man of
God, which passeth by us continually.
12-4:14 And
he said, What then is to be done for
her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.
12-4:22 And
she called unto her husband, and said, Send me,
I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the
man of God, and come again.
12-4:26 Run
now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well
with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.
20-12:4 A
virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
20-31:11 The
heart of her husband doth safely trust in her,
so that he shall have no need of spoil.
20-31:23 Her
husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth
among the elders of the land.
20-31:28 Her
children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband
also, and he praiseth her.
23-54:5 For
thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of
the whole earth shall he be called.
24-3:20 Surely
as a wife treacherously departeth
from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously
with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
24-6:11 Therefore
I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it
out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for
even the husband with the wife shall be taken,
the aged with him that is full of
days.
24-31:32 Not
according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring
them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
26-16:32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
26-16:45 Thou
art thy mother’s daughter, that
loatheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which
loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
26-44:25 And
they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for
mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had
no husband, they may defile themselves.
28-2:2 Plead
with your mother, plead: for she is not
my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out
of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
28-2:7 And
she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she
shall seek them, but shall not find them:
then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was
it better with me than now.
29-1:8 Lament
like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband
of her youth.
40-1:16 And Jacob
begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was
born Jesus, who is called Christ.
40-1:19 Then
Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a
publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
41-10:12 And if a
woman shall put away her husband, and be married
to another, she committeth adultery.
42-2:36 And there
was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she
was of a great age, and had lived with an husband
seven years from her virginity;
42-16:18 Whosoever
putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever
marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
43-4:16 Jesus saith
unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
43-4:17 The woman
answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said
unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
43-4:18 For thou
hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
44-5:9 Then Peter
said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of
the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at
the door, and shall carry thee out.
44-5:10 Then fell
she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men
came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her
forth, buried her by her husband.
45-7:2 For the
woman which hath an husband is bound by the law
to her husband
so long as he liveth; but if the husband be
dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
45-7:3 So then
if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called
an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she
is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to
another man.
46-7:2 Nevertheless,
to avoid fornication, let every man
have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
46-7:3 Let
the husband render unto the wife due
benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
46-7:4 The
wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband:
and likewise also the husband hath not power of
his own body, but the wife.
46-7:10 And
unto the married I command, yet not
I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
46-7:11 But
and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband:
and let not the husband put away his wife.
46-7:13 And
the woman which hath an husband that believeth
not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
46-7:14 For
the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the
wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband:
else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
46-7:16 For
what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O
man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
46-7:34 There
is difference also between a wife and
a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may
be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the
things of the world, how she may please her
husband.
46-7:39 The
wife is bound by the law as long as her husband
liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at
liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
47-11:2 For
I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
48-4:27 For it is
written, Rejoice, thou barren that
bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate
hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
49-5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the
head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
49-5:33 Nevertheless
let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the
wife see that she reverence her husband.
54-3:2 A bishop
then must be blameless, the husband of one wife,
vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
56-1:6 If any
be blameless, the husband of one wife, having
faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
66-21:2 And I
John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

04-30:10 And if she
vowed in her husband’s house, or bound her soul
by a bond with an oath;
05-25:5 If
brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the
dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s
brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty
of an husband’s brother unto her.
05-25:7 And if
the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up
to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s
brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not
perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
08-2:1 And
Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty
man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.

01-9:20 And Noah
began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
24-51:23 I
will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee
will I break in pieces the husbandman and his
yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.
30-5:16 Therefore
the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways,
Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman
to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
38-13:5 But
he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman;
for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.
43-15:1 I am the
true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
55-2:6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of
the fruits.
59-5:7 Be
patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the
earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter
rain.

12-25:12 But
the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.
14-26:10 Also
he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle,
both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen
also, and vine dressers in the
mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.
24-31:24 And
there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.
24-52:16 But
Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain
of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.
29-1:11 Be
ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye
vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the
field is perished.
40-21:33 Hear
another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and
hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let
it out to husbandmen, and went into a far
country:
40-21:34 And when
the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
40-21:35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed
another, and stoned another.
40-21:38 But when
the husbandmen saw the son, they said among
themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his
inheritance.
40-21:40 When the
lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
40-21:41 They say
unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their
seasons.
41-12:1 And he
began to speak unto them by parables. A certain
man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the
winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen,
and went into a far country.
41-12:2 And at
the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant,
that he might receive from the husbandmen of the
fruit of the vineyard.
41-12:7 But those
husbandmen said among themselves, This is the
heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
41-12:9 What
shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
42-20:9 Then
began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard,
and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a
far country for a long time.
42-20:10 And at the
season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that
they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.
42-20:14 But when
the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among
themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the
inheritance may be ours.
42-20:16 He shall
come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall
give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

14-26:10 Also
he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle,
both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he
loved husbandry.
46-3:9 For
we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry,
ye are God’s building.

08-1:11 And
Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?
08-1:13 Would
ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for
your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.
17-1:17 For
this deed of the queen shall come
abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king
Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came
not.
17-1:20 And
when the king’s decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all
his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.
24-29:6 Take
ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give
your daughters to husbands, that they may bear
sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.
26-16:45 Thou
art thy mother’s daughter, that
loatheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an
Amorite.
43-4:18 For thou
hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now
hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
46-14:35 And
if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands
at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
49-5:22 Wives,
submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as
unto the Lord.
49-5:24 Therefore
as the church is subject unto Christ, so let
the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
49-5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the
church, and gave himself for it;
51-3:18 Wives,
submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it
is fit in the Lord.
51-3:19 Husbands, love your
wives, and be not bitter against them.
54-3:12 Let the
deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling
their children and their own houses well.
56-2:4 That
they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
56-2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home,
good, obedient to their own husbands, that the
word of God be not blasphemed.
60-3:1 Likewise,
ye wives, be in subjection to your
own husbands; that, if any obey not the word,
they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
60-3:5 For after
this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned
themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
60-3:7 Likewise,
ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto
the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your
prayers be not hindered.

10-15:32 And
it came to pass, that when David was
come to the top of the mount, where
he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with
his coat rent, and earth upon his head:
10-15:37 So
Hushai David’s friend came into the city, and Absalom
came into Jerusalem.
10-16:16 And
it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, was
come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the
king, God save the king.
10-16:17 And
Absalom said to Hushai, Is this
thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?
10-16:18 And
Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and
this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him
will I abide.
10-17:5 Then
said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear
likewise what he saith.
10-17:6 And
when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him,
saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak thou.
10-17:7 And
Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel
hath given is not good at this time.
10-17:8 For,
said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear
robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.
10-17:14 And
Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of
Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of
Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.
10-17:15 Then
said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and
thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus
have I counselled.
11-4:16 Baanah
the son of Hushai was in
Asher and in Aloth:
13-27:33 And
Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor:
and Hushai the Archite was
the king’s companion:

23-32:6 For
the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to
practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against
the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of
the thirsty to fail.
40-23:28 Even so ye
also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
41-12:15 Shall we
give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy,
said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
42-12:1 In the
mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of
people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his
disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
54-4:2 Speaking
lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience
seared with a hot iron;
59-3:17 But the
wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy

18-13:16 He
also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
18-17:8 Upright
men shall be astonied at this, and
the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
18-20:5 That
the triumphing of the wicked is short,
and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
18-27:8 For
what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away

18-34:30 That
the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be
ensnared.
20-11:9 An
hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the
just be delivered.
23-9:17 Therefore
the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on
their fatherless and widows: for every one is
an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every
mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
40-7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye;
and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
42-6:42 Either
how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in
thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of
thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in
thy brother’s eye.
42-13:15 The Lord
then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath
loose his ox or his ass from the
stall, and lead him away to watering?

18-15:34 For
the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall
consume the tabernacles of bribery.
18-36:13 But
the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry
not when he bindeth them.
23-33:14 The
sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the
devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
40-6:2 Therefore
when thou doest thine alms, do not
sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites
do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men.
Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
40-6:5 And when
thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites
are: for they love to pray standing
in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of
men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
40-6:16 Moreover
when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a
sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men
to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
40-15:7 Ye hypocrites,
well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
40-16:3 And in
the morning, It will be foul weather
to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye
hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the
sky; but can ye not discern the signs
of the times?
40-22:18 But Jesus
perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
40-23:13 But woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that
are entering to go in.
40-23:14 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye
devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall
receive the greater damnation.
40-23:15 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye
compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him
twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
40-23:23 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye
pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and
faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
40-23:25 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye
make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full
of extortion and excess.
40-23:27 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are
like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are
within full of dead men’s bones, and
of all uncleanness.
40-23:29 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because
ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the
righteous,
40-24:51 And shall
cut him asunder, and appoint him his
portion with the hypocrites: there shall be
weeping and gnashing of teeth.
41-7:6 He
answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me
with their lips, but their heart is
far from me.
42-11:44 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye
are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
42-12:56 Ye hypocrites,
ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do
not discern this time?

hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed
upon me with their teeth.
23-10:6 I
will send him against an hypocritical nation,
and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil,
and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

02-12:22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it
in the blood that is in the
bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall
go out at the door of his house until the morning.
03-14:4 Then
shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive
and clean, and cedar wood, and
scarlet, and hyssop:
03-14:6 As for the
living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the
blood of the bird that was killed
over the running water:
03-14:49 And he
shall take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:
03-14:51 And he
shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and
the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird,
and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times:
03-14:52 And he
shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water,
and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet:
04-19:6 And the
priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and
scarlet, and cast it into the midst of
the burning of the heifer.
04-19:18 And a
clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the
vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a
bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:
11-4:33 And
he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is
in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that
springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of
creeping things, and of fishes.
19-51:7 Purge
me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me,
and I shall be whiter than snow.
43-19:29 Now there
was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and
put it upon hyssop,
and put it to his mouth.
58-9:19 For when
Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took
the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the
people,
