29-JOEL
29-1:5 Awake,
ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new
wine, for it is cut off from your mouth.
29-1:6 For
a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and
without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek
teeth of a great lion.
29-1:9 The
meat offering and the drink offering is cut off
from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD’S ministers, mourn.
29-1:10 The
field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn
is wasted: the new wine is
dried up, the oil languisheth.
29-1:11 Be
ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the
barley; because the harvest of the field is
perished.
29-1:12 The
vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth;
the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the
trees of the field, are withered: because joy is
withered away from the sons of men.
29-1:13 Gird
yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie
all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the
drink offering is withholden from the house of
your God.
29-1:15 Alas
for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand,
and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
29-1:16 Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and
gladness from the house of our God?
29-1:17 The
seed is rotten under their clods, the garners
are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
29-2:1 Blow
ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the
inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
29-2:3 A
fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them
a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
29-2:4 The
appearance of them is as the appearance of
horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
29-2:11 And
the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is
strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
29-2:13 And
rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he
is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of
great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
29-2:17 Let
the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar,
and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach,
that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the
people, Where is their God?
29-3:13 Put
ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come,
get you down; for the press is full, the fats
overflow; for their wickedness is great.
29-3:14 Multitudes,
multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
30-AMOS
30-2:11 And
I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith
the LORD.
30-2:13 Behold,
I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed
that is full of sheaves.
30-2:15 Neither
shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is
swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse
deliver himself.
30-2:16 And
he that is courageous among the mighty shall
flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.
30-3:5 Can
a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is
for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at
all?
30-4:3 And
ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace,
saith the LORD.
30-4:13 For,
lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto
man what is his thought, that maketh the morning
darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of
hosts, is his name.
30-5:2 The
virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more
rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
30-5:8 Seek
him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into
the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of
the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
30-5:11 Forasmuch
therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and
ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye
shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not
drink wine of them.
30-5:13 Therefore
the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is
an evil time.
30-5:18 Woe
unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is
it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and
not light.
30-5:27 Therefore
will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose
name is The God of hosts.
30-6:8 The
Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the
excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city
with all that is therein.
30-6:10 And
a man’s uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the
bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is
by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with
thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not
make mention of the name of the LORD.
30-7:2 And
it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land,
then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise?
for he is small.
30-7:5 Then
said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
30-7:10 Then
Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath
conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
30-7:13 But
prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is
the king’s chapel, and it is the king’s court.
30-8:2 And
he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said
the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people
of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.
30-9:5 And
the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the
land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall
rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
30-9:6 It
is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven,
and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the
sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.
30-9:9 For,
lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like
as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the
least grain fall upon the earth.
30-9:11 In
that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is
fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I
will build it as in the days of old:
31-OBADIAH
31-1:1 The
vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a
rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent
among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
31-1:3 The
pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of
the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith
in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
31-1:7 All
the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that
were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they
that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is
none understanding in him.
31-1:15 For
the day of the LORD is near upon all the
heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return
upon thine own head.
31-1:20 And
the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the
Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
32-JONAH
32-1:2 Arise,
go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
32-1:7 And
they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know
for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they
cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
32-1:8 Then
said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is
thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is
thy country? and of what people art thou?
32-1:12 And
he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea
be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.
32-2:9 But
I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that
I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
32-3:8 But
let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea,
let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
32-4:3 Therefore
now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
32-4:8 And
it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east
wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in
himself to die, and said, It is better for me to
die than to live.
33-MICAH
33-1:2 Hear,
all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is:
and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.
33-1:5 For
the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for
the sins of the house of Israel. What is the
transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what
are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
33-1:9 For
her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is
come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
33-1:13 O
thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion:
for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.
33-2:1 Woe
to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
33-2:3 Therefore
thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from
which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this
time is evil.
33-2:7 O
thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit
of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him
that walketh uprightly?
33-2:8 Even
of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye
pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men
averse from war.
33-2:10 Arise
ye, and depart; for this is not your rest:
because it is polluted, it shall destroy you,
even with a sore destruction.
33-2:13 The
breaker is come up before them: they have broken
up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king
shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
33-3:1 And
I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of
Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?
33-3:7 Then
shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all
cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
33-3:11 The
heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the
prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
33-4:6 In
that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather
her that is driven out, and her that I have
afflicted;
33-4:9 Now
why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in
thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have
taken thee as a woman in travail.
33-5:2 But
thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet
out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is
to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from
everlasting.
33-6:8 He
hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what
doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk
humbly with thy God?
33-6:10 Are
there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant
measure that is abominable?
33-6:12 For
the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have
spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in
their mouth.
33-7:1 Woe
is me! for I am as when they have gathered the
summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe
fruit.
33-7:2 The
good man is perished out of the earth: and there
is none upright among men: they all lie in wait
for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
33-7:4 The
best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen
and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
33-7:10 Then
she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame
shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the
LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the
mire of the streets.
33-7:18 Who
is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth
iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he
retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
34-NAHUM
34-1:2 God
is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD
revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take
vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
34-1:3 The
LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will
not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the
storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
34-1:5 The
mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that
dwell therein.
34-1:6 Who
can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his
anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the
rocks are thrown down by him.
34-1:7 The
LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of
trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
34-1:11 There
is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil
against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
34-1:15 Behold
upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth
peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall
no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut
off.
34-2:1 He
that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy
face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy
power mightily.
34-2:3 The
shield of his mighty men is made red, the
valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the
day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
34-2:8 But
Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they
shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
34-2:9 Take
ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the
pleasant furniture.
34-2:10 She
is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart
melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is
in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
34-2:11 Where
is the dwelling of the lions, and the
feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and
the lion’s whelp, and none made them afraid?
34-3:1 Woe
to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and
robbery; the prey departeth not;
34-3:3 The
horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of
carcases; and there is none end of their
corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
34-3:7 And
it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee,
and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan
her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
34-3:17 Thy
crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which
camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away,
and their place is not known where they are.
34-3:18 Thy
shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy
people is scattered upon the mountains, and no
man gathereth them.
34-3:19 There
is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall
clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed
continually?
35-HABAKKUK
35-1:4 Therefore
the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go
forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong
judgment proceedeth.
35-1:13 Thou
art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity:
wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue
when the wicked devoureth the man that is more
righteous than he?
35-1:16 Therefore
they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by
them their portion is fat, and their meat
plenteous.
35-2:3 For
the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at
the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it
will surely come, it will not tarry.
35-2:4 Behold,
his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his
faith.
35-2:5 Yea
also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a
proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth
unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
35-2:6 Shall
not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against
him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is
not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
35-2:13 Behold,
is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people
shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very
vanity?
35-2:19 Woe
unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall
teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and
silver, and there is no breath at all in the
midst of it.
35-2:20 But
the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the
earth keep silence before him.
35-3:19 The
LORD God is my strength, and he will make my
feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To
the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
36-ZEPHANIAH
36-1:7 Hold
thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he
hath bid his guests.
36-1:14 The
great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the
day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
36-1:15 That
day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and
distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess,
a day of clouds and thick darkness,
36-2:5 Woe
unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word
of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land
of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no
inhabitant.
36-2:15 This
is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly,
that said in her heart, I am, and there is none
beside me: how is she become a desolation, a
place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and
wag his hand.
36-3:1 Woe
to her that is filthy and polluted, to the
oppressing city!
36-3:5 The
just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not
do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not;
but the unjust knoweth no shame.
36-3:6 I
have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets
waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is
none inhabitant.
36-3:8 Therefore
wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for
my determination is to gather the nations, that
I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my
fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
36-3:15 The
LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of
Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee:
thou shalt not see evil any more.
36-3:17 The
LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he
will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he
will joy over thee with singing.
37-HAGGAI
37-1:2 Thus
speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be
built.
37-1:4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled
houses, and this house lie waste?
37-1:6 Ye
have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink,
but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages
to put it into a bag with holes.
37-1:9 Ye
looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did
blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
37-1:10 Therefore
the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the
earth is stayed from her fruit.
37-2:3 Who
is left among you that saw this house in her
first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not
in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
37-2:6 For
thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a
little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the
dry land;
37-2:8 The
silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
37-2:13 Then
said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead
body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and
said, It shall be unclean.
37-2:14 Then
answered Haggai, and said, So is this people,
and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD;
and so is every work of their hands; and that
which they offer there is unclean.
37-2:19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and
the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth:
from this day will I bless you.
38-ZECHARIAH
38-1:7 Upon
the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of
the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet,
saying,
38-1:11 And
they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and
said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth
sitteth still, and is at rest.
38-2:2 Then
said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see
what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
38-2:13 Be
silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is
raised up out of his holy habitation.
38-3:2 And
the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that
hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a
brand plucked out of the fire?
38-4:1 And
the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
38-4:6 Then
he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is
the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but
by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
38-5:2 And
he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the
length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth
thereof ten cubits.
38-5:3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
38-5:5 Then
the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine
eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.
38-5:6 And
I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.
38-5:7 And,
behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is
a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.
38-5:8 And
he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into
the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
38-6:12 And
speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man
whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up
out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
38-7:13 Therefore
it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they
would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
38-8:23 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men
shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of
the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will
go with you: for we have heard that God is with
you.
38-9:9 Rejoice
greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King
cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation;
lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
38-9:11 As
for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out
of the pit wherein is no water.
38-9:17 For
how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful,
and new wine the maids.
38-10:5 And
they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the
streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be
confounded.
38-11:2 Howl,
fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the
mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.
38-11:3 There
is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their
glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of
young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
38-11:9 Then
said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest
eat every one the flesh of another.
38-11:16 For,
lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be
cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he
shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.
38-12:8 In
that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David;
and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
38-12:10 And
I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the
spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they
have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son,
and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is
in bitterness for his firstborn.
38-13:7 Awake,
O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is
my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be
scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
38-13:9 And
I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear
them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall
say, The LORD is my God.
38-14:4 And
his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of
Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west,
and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove
toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
38-14:16 And
it shall come to pass, that every one that is
left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year
to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of
tabernacles.
39-MALACHI
39-1:6 A
son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father,
where is mine honour? and if I be a master,
where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto
you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy
name?
39-1:7 Ye
offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee?
In that ye say, The table of the LORD is
contemptible.
39-1:8 And
if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not
evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it
not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or
accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.
39-1:10 Who
is there even among you that would shut the
doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no
pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at
your hand.
