altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the
man of God.
15-3:8 Now
in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the
second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their
brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the
captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and
upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD.
15-3:9 Then
stood Jeshua with his
sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to
set forward the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brethren the
Levites.
15-4:3 But
Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of
Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto
our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as
king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.
15-5:2 Then
rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the
son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and with them were
the prophets of God helping them.
15-8:33 Now
on the fourth day was the silver and the gold and the vessels weighed in the
house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with
him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas;
and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;
15-10:18 And
among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah,
and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
16-3:19 And
next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another
piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.
16-7:7 Who
came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah,
Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number, I say, of the men of the people of
Israel was this;
16-7:11 The
children of Pahathmoab, of the children of Jeshua and
Joab, two thousand and eight hundred and eighteen.
16-7:39 The
priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine
hundred seventy and three.
16-7:43 The
Levites: the children of Jeshua, of Kadmiel, and of the children of Hodevah, seventy and four.
16-8:7 Also
Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub,
Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and
the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.
16-8:17 And
all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths,
and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the
son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was
very great gladness.
16-9:4 Then
stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and
Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God.
16-9:5 Then
the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah,
Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah,
said, Stand up and bless the LORD
your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted
above all blessing and praise.

the Levites: both Jeshua the son of Azaniah, Binnui of the sons of
Henadad, Kadmiel;
16-11:26 And
at Jeshua, and at Moladah, and at Bethphelet,
16-12:1 Now
these are the priests and the Levites
that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua:
Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
16-12:7 Sallu,
Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the
chief of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua.
16-12:8 Moreover
the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, which was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren.
16-12:10 And
Jeshua begat Joiakim, Joiakim also begat Eliashib, and
Eliashib begat Joiada,
16-12:24 And
the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the
son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the
commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward.
16-12:26 These
were in the days of Joiakim the son
of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah
the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.

shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him
whom I name unto thee.

he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the LORD: sanctify yourselves,
and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and
his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
09-16:8 Then
Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel.
And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
09-16:9 Then
Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither
hath the LORD chosen this.
09-16:10 Again,
Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And
Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.
09-16:11 And
Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy
children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he
keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will
not sit down till he come hither.
09-16:18 Then
answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of
war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.
09-16:19 Wherefore
Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son,
which is with the sheep.
09-16:20 And
Jesse took an ass laden
with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul.
09-16:22 And
Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me;
for he hath found favour in my sight.
09-17:12 Now
David was the son of that Ephrathite
of Bethlehemjudah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among
men for an old man in the days of
Saul.
09-17:13 And
the three eldest sons of Jesse went and followed Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons
that went to the battle were Eliab
the firstborn, and next unto him Abinadab, and the third Shammah.
09-17:17 And
Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy
brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and
these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren;
09-17:20 And
David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took,
and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as
the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle.
09-17:58 And
Saul said to him, Whose son art thou,
thou young man? And David answered, I
am the son of thy servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.
09-20:27 And
it came to pass on the morrow, which was the
second day of the month, that David’s
place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the
son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?
09-20:30 Then
Saul’s anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of
the perverse rebellious woman, do not
I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto
the confusion of thy mother’s nakedness?
09-20:31 For
as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt
not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me,
for he shall surely die.
09-22:7 Then
Saul said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will
the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands,
and captains of hundreds;
09-22:8 That
all of you have conspired against me, and there
is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there
is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath
stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
09-22:9 Then
answered Doeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I
saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
