Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain
men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had
escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.

the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to
the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the
work.

it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was
wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.

he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these
feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they
sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of
the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?

unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you.

even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their

there were at my table an hundred and

among the heathen that are about us.

was written, It is reported among the
heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou
and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the
wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words.

those days also saw I Jews that
had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and
of Moab:

he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the
people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout
the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the
people of Mordecai.
17-3:13 And
the letters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to
kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little
children and women, in one day, even upon
the thirteenth day of the twelfth
month, which is the month Adar, and to
take the spoil of them for a prey.
17-4:3 And
in every province, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many
lay in sackcloth and ashes.
17-4:7 And
Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the
money that Haman had promised to pay to the king’s treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
17-4:13 Then
Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt
escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.
17-4:14 For
if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s
house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom
for such a time as this?
17-4:16 Go,
gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and
fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and
my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I
perish, I perish.
17-6:13 And
Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his
wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the
seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt
not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.
17-8:3 And
Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought
him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device
that he had devised against the Jews.
17-8:5 And
said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the
thing seem right before the king, and
I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be
written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the
Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king’s provinces:
17-8:7 Then
the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of
Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon
the Jews.
17-8:8 Write
ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing
which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no
man reverse.
17-8:9 Then
were the king’s scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and
twentieth day thereof; and it was written
according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to
the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred
twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing
thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their
language.
17-8:11 Wherein
the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for
their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the
people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to
take the spoil of them for a prey,
17-8:13 The
copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that
the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge
themselves on their enemies.
17-8:16 The
Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour.
17-8:17 And
in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king’s commandment and
his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a
good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for
the fear of the Jews fell upon them.
17-9:1 Now
in the twelfth month, that is, the
month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s commandment and
his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the
Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was
turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated
them;)
17-9:2 The
Jews gathered themselves together in their cities
throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as
sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell
upon all people.
17-9:3 And
all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and
officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell
upon them.
17-9:5 Thus
the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the
sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that
hated them.
17-9:6 And
in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred
men.
17-9:10 The
ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their
hand.
17-9:12 And
the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain
and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of
Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be granted
thee: or what is thy request further?
and it shall be done.
17-9:13 Then
said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in
Shushan to do to morrow also according unto this day’s decree, and let Haman’s
ten sons be hanged upon the gallows.
17-9:15 For
the Jews that were in
Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month
Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not
their hand.
17-9:16 But
the other Jews that were in
the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and
had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand,
but they laid not their hands on the prey,
17-9:18 But
the Jews that were at
Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it
a day of feasting and gladness.
17-9:19 Therefore
the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns,
made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a
day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one
to another.
17-9:20 And
Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in
all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both
nigh and far,
17-9:22 As
the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the
month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a
good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending
portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
17-9:23 And
the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai
had written unto them;
17-9:24 Because
Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to
destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the
lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;
17-9:25 But
when Esther came before the king, he
commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and
his sons should be hanged on the gallows.
17-9:27 The
Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed,
and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail,
that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according
to their appointed time every year;
17-9:28 And
that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every
family, every province, and every city; and that
these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor
the memorial of them perish from their seed.
17-9:30 And
he sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven
provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with
words of peace and truth,
17-10:3 For
Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren,
seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
24-32:12 And
I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of
Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book
of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the

24-44:1 The

Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he

Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto
him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
43-18:36 Jesus
answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then
would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
43-18:38 Pilate
saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again
unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
43-18:39 But ye
have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye
therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
43-19:3 And said,
Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
43-19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he
ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
43-19:12 And from
thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried
out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend: whosoever
maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
43-19:14 And it was
the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto
the Jews, Behold your King!
43-19:19 And Pilate
wrote a title, and put it on the
cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
43-19:20 This title
then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was
crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
43-19:21 Then said
the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of
the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
43-19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that
the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that
sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken,
and that they might be taken away.
43-19:38 And after
this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of
the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body
of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave.
He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
43-19:40 Then took
they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the
manner of the Jews is to bury.
43-20:19 Then the
same day at evening, being the first day of
the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear
of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto
them, Peace be unto you.
44-2:5 And
there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation
under heaven.
44-2:10 Phrygia,
and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers
of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
44-9:22 But Saul
increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which
dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
44-9:23 And after
that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
44-10:22 And they
said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good
report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy
angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
44-10:39 And we are
witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a
tree:
44-11:19 Now they
which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen
travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to
none but unto the Jews only.
44-12:3 And
because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter
also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
44-12:11 And when Peter
was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent
his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people
of the Jews.
44-13:5 And when
they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
44-13:42 And when
the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles
besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
44-13:43 Now when
the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and
religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them,
persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44-13:45 But when the
Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy,
and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and
blaspheming.
44-13:50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and
the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas,
and expelled them out of their coasts.
44-14:1 And it
came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the
Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
44-14:2 But the
unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil
affected against the brethren.
44-14:4 But the multitude
of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and
part with the apostles.
44-14:5 And when
there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
44-14:19 And there
came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the
people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him
out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
44-16:3 Him would
Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all
that his father was a Greek.
44-16:20 And
brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
44-17:1 Now when
they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica,
where was a synagogue of the Jews:
44-17:5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto
them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set
all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to
bring them out to the people.
44-17:10 And the
brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
44-17:13 But when
the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God
was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the
people.
44-17:17 Therefore
disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and
in the market daily with them that met with him.
44-18:2 And found
a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus,
lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had
commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
44-18:4 And he
reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
44-18:5 And when Silas
and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and
testified to the Jews that Jesus
was Christ.
44-18:12 And when
Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord
against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
44-18:14 And when
Paul was now about to open his mouth,
Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or
wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:
44-18:19 And he came
to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and
reasoned with the Jews.
44-18:28 For he
mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
44-19:10 And this
continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard
the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
44-19:13 Then
certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over
them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you
by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
44-19:17 And this
was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at
Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was
magnified.
44-19:33 And they
drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting
him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his
defence unto the people.
44-20:3 And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into
Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.
44-20:19 Serving
the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which
befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
44-20:21 Testifying
both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God,
and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
44-21:11 And when
he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet,
and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at
Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
44-21:20 And when
they heard it, they glorified the
Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous
of the law:
44-21:21 And they
are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which
are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to
circumcise their children, neither to
walk after the customs.
44-21:27 And when
the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw
him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
44-22:12 And one
Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
44-22:30 On the
morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of
the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to
appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.
44-23:12 And when it
was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound
themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till
they had killed Paul.
44-23:20 And he
said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest
bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire
somewhat of him more perfectly.
44-23:27 This man
was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I
with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.
44-23:30 And when it
was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent
straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before
thee what they had against him.

44-24:5 For we
have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among
all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect
of the Nazarenes:
44-24:9 And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.
44-24:18 Whereupon
certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither
with multitude, nor with tumult.
44-24:27 But after
two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.
44-25:2 Then the
high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and
besought him,
44-25:7 And when
he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about,
and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.
44-25:8 While he
answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews,
neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing
at all.
44-25:9 But
Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and
said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before
me?
44-25:10 Then said
Paul, I stand at Caesar’s judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest.
44-25:15 About
whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me,
desiring to have judgment against
him.
44-25:24 And Festus
said, King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this
man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have
dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and also
here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.
44-26:2 I think myself
happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee
touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:
44-26:3 Especially
because I know thee to be expert in
all customs and questions which are among the Jews:
wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
44-26:4 My manner
of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at
Jerusalem, know all the Jews;
44-26:7 Unto
which promise our twelve tribes,
instantly serving God day and night,
hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
44-26:21 For these
causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
44-28:17 And it
came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he
said unto them, Men and brethren,
though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers,
yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
44-28:19 But when
the Jews spake against it,
I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my
nation of.
44-28:29 And when
he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning
among themselves.
45-3:9 What
then? are we better than they? No, in
no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all
under sin;
45-3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not
also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

66-2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation,
and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I
know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and
are not, but are the synagogue of
Satan.
66-3:9 Behold, I will make them of the
synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I
will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have
