16-NEHEMIAH
16-1:11 O
Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy
servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and
prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of
this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.
16-2:10 When
Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that
there was come a man to seek the welfare of the
children of Israel.
16-2:12 And
I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man
what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the
beast that I rode upon.
16-5:13 Also
I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man
from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even
thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and
praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.
16-6:11 And
I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go
into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.
16-7:2 That
I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over
Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.
16-8:1 And
all the people gathered themselves together as one man
into the street that was before the
water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of
Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel.
16-9:29 And
testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet
they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against
thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live
in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not
hear.
16-12:24 And
the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel,
with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward.
16-12:36 And
his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and
Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.
17-ESTHER
17-1:22 For
he sent letters into all the king’s provinces, into every province according to
the writing thereof, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and that it should be published according to the
language of every people.
17-4:11 All
the king’s servants, and the people of the king’s provinces, do know, that
whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto
the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him
to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre,
that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these
thirty days.
17-5:12 Haman
said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man
come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to
morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.
17-6:6 So
Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman
thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to
myself?
17-6:7 And
Haman answered the king, For the man whom the
king delighteth to honour,
17-6:9 And
let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most
noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to
honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim
before him, Thus shall it be done to the man
whom the king delighteth to honour.
17-6:11 Then
took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on
horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall
it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth
to honour.
17-8:8 Write
ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing
which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse.
17-9:2 The
Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces
of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell
upon all people.
17-9:4 For
Mordecai was great in the king’s
house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.
18-JOB
18-1:1 There
was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God,
and eschewed evil.
18-1:3 His
substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five
hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household;
so that this man was the greatest of all the men
of the east.
18-1:8 And
the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a
perfect and an upright man, one that feareth
God, and escheweth evil?
18-2:3 And
the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a
perfect and an upright man, one that feareth
God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou
movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
18-2:4 And
Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
18-3:3 Let
the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man
child conceived.
18-3:23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?
18-4:17 Shall
mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
18-5:2 For
wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth
the silly one.
18-5:7 Yet
man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly
upward.
18-5:17 Behold,
happy is the man
whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
18-7:1 Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are
not his days also like the days of an hireling?
18-7:17 What
is man,
that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon
him?
18-8:20 Behold,
God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
18-9:2 I
know it is so of a truth: but how
should man be just with God?
18-9:32 For
he is not a man,
as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.
18-10:4 Hast
thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth?
18-10:5 Are thy days as the days of man? are thy
years as man’s days,
18-11:2 Should
not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man
full of talk be justified?
18-11:3 Should
thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
18-11:12 For
vain man would be wise, though man be born like
a wild ass’s colt.
18-12:4 I
am as one mocked of his neighbour,
who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed
to scorn.
18-12:14 Behold,
he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
18-12:25 They
grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
18-13:9 Is
it good that he should search you out? or as one man
mocketh another, do ye so mock him?
18-14:1 Man that is born
of a woman is of few days, and full
of trouble.
18-14:10 But
man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
18-14:12 So
man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens
be no more, they shall not awake, nor
be raised out of their sleep.
18-14:14 If
a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my
change come.
18-14:19 The
waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou
destroyest the hope of man.
18-15:2 Should
a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his
belly with the east wind?
18-15:7 Art thou the first man that was
born? or wast thou made before the hills?
18-15:14 What
is man,
that he should be clean? and he which is born
of a woman, that he should be righteous?
18-15:16 How
much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
18-15:20 The
wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is
hidden to the oppressor.
18-15:28 And
he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in
houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready
to become heaps.
18-16:21 O
that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for
his neighbour!
18-17:10 But
as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.
18-20:4 Knowest
thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
18-20:21 There
shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man
look for his goods.
18-20:29 This
is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by
God.
18-21:4 As
for me, is my complaint to man? and if it
were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
18-21:33 The
clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man
shall draw after him, as there are innumerable
before him.
18-22:2 Can
a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise
may be profitable unto himself?
18-22:8 But
as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
18-24:22 He
draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is
sure of life.
18-25:4 How
then can man be justified with God? or how can
he be clean that is born of a woman?
18-25:6 How
much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
18-27:13 This
is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the
Almighty.
18-27:19 The
rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be
gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
18-28:13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found
in the land of the living.
18-28:28 And
unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord,
that is wisdom; and to depart from
evil is understanding.
18-32:8 But
there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them
understanding.
18-32:13 Lest
ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
18-32:21 Let
me not, I pray you, accept any man’s person,
neither let me give flattering titles unto man.
18-33:12 Behold,
in this thou art not just: I will
answer thee, that God is greater than man.
18-33:14 For
God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
18-33:17 That
he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
18-33:23 If
there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew
unto man his uprightness:
18-33:26 He
shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his
face with joy: for he will render unto man his
righteousness.
18-33:29 Lo,
all these things worketh God
oftentimes with man,
18-34:7 What
man is like
Job, who drinketh up scorning like
water?
18-34:9 For
he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he
should delight himself with God.
18-34:11 For
the work of a man shall he render unto him, and
cause every man to find according to his ways.
18-34:14 If
he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
18-34:15 All
flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn
again unto dust.
18-34:21 For
his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
18-34:23 For
he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into
judgment with God.
18-34:29 When
he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him?
whether it be done against a nation,
or against a man only:
18-34:34 Let
men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man
hearken unto me.
18-35:8 Thy
wickedness may hurt a man as thou art;
and thy righteousness may profit the
son of man.
18-36:25 Every
man may see it; man
may behold it afar off.
18-36:28 Which
the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
18-37:7 He
sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men
may know his work.
18-37:20 Shall
it be told him that I speak? if a man speak,
surely he shall be swallowed up.
18-38:3 Gird
up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand
of thee, and answer thou me.
18-38:26 To
cause it to rain on the earth, where no
man is; on
the wilderness, wherein there is no
man;
18-40:7 Gird
up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of
thee, and declare thou unto me.
18-42:11 Then
came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that
had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house:
and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had
brought upon him: every man also gave him a
piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.
19-PSALMS
19-1:1 Blessed
is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
19-5:6 Thou
shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and
deceitful man.
19-8:4 What
is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the
son of man, that thou visitest him?
19-9:19 Arise,
O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be
judged in thy sight.
19-10:15 Break
thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
19-10:18 To
judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man
of the earth may no more oppress.
19-12:1 Help,
LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the
faithful fail from among the children of men.
19-18:25 With
the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
19-18:48 He
delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise
up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
19-19:5 Which
is as a bridegroom coming out of his
chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
19-22:6 But
I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
19-25:12 What
man is he
that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
19-31:12 I
am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like
a broken vessel.
19-31:20 Thou
shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from
the strife of tongues.
19-32:2 Blessed
is the man
unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
19-33:16 There
is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man
is not delivered by much strength.
19-34:6 This
poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his
troubles.
19-34:8 O
taste and see that the LORD is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth
in him.
19-34:12 What
man is he
that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
19-36:6 Thy
righteousness is like the great
mountains; thy judgments are a great deep:
O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
19-37:7 Rest
in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who
prospereth in his way, because of the man who
bringeth wicked devices to pass.
19-37:16 A
little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many
wicked.
19-37:23 The
steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his
way.
19-37:37 Mark
the perfect man,
and behold the upright: for the end of that
man is
peace.
19-38:13 But
I, as a deaf man,
heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth
not his mouth.
19-38:14 Thus
I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose
mouth are no reproofs.
19-39:5 Behold,
thou hast made my days as an
handbreadth; and mine age is as
nothing before thee: verily every man at his
best state is altogether vanity.
Selah.
19-39:6 Surely
every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they
are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches,
and knoweth not who shall gather them.
19-39:11 When
thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity,
thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity.
Selah.
19-40:4 Blessed
is that man
that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn
aside to lies.
19-43:1 Judge
me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the
deceitful and unjust man.
19-49:12 Nevertheless
man being in
honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that
perish.
19-49:20 Man that is in
honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
19-52:1 Why
boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man?
the goodness of God endureth continually.
19-52:7 Lo,
this is the man
that made not God his strength; but
trusted in the abundance of his riches, and
strengthened himself in his wickedness.
19-55:13 But
it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.
19-56:1 Be
merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow
me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
19-56:11 In
God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man
can do unto me.
19-58:11 So
that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous:
verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
19-60:11 Give
us help from trouble: for vain is the
help of man.
19-62:3 How
long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye
shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall
ye be, and as a tottering fence.
19-62:12 Also
unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy:
for thou renderest to every man according to his
work.
19-65:4 Blessed
is the man
whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied
with the goodness of thy house, even of
thy holy temple.
19-71:4 Deliver
me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous
and cruel man.
19-74:5 A man was
famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.
19-74:22 Arise,
O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man
reproacheth thee daily.
19-76:10 Surely
the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder
of wrath shalt thou restrain.
19-78:25 Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the
full.
19-78:65 Then
the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like
a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
19-80:17 Let
thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon
the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
19-84:5 Blessed
is the man
whose strength is in thee; in whose
heart are the ways of them.
19-84:12 O
LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
19-87:4 I
will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia,
and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.
19-87:5 And
of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was
born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.
19-87:6 The
LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah.
19-88:4 I
am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no
strength:
19-89:48 What
man is he
that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the
hand of the grave? Selah.
19-90:title A
Prayer of Moses the man of God.
19-90:3 Thou
turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return,
ye children of men.
19-92:6 A
brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool
understand this.
19-94:10 He
that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall
not he know?
19-94:11 The
LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
19-94:12 Blessed
is the man
whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
19-103:15 As for man,
his days are as grass: as a flower of
the field, so he flourisheth.
19-104:14 He
causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
19-104:15 And
wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil
to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.
19-104:23 Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until
the evening.
19-105:14 He
suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he
reproved kings for their sakes;
19-105:17 He
sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold
for a servant:
19-107:27 They
reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man,
and are at their wit’s end.
19-108:12 Give
us help from trouble: for vain is the
help of man.
19-109:6 Set
thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand
at his right hand.
19-109:16 Because
that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
19-112:1 Praise
ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth
the LORD, that delighteth greatly in
his commandments.
19-112:5 A
good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will
guide his affairs with discretion.
19-118:6 The
LORD is on my side; I will not fear:
what can man do unto me?
19-118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than
to put confidence in man.
19-119:9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
19-119:134 Deliver
me from the oppression of man: so will I keep
thy precepts.
19-127:4 As
arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children
of the youth.
19-127:5 Happy
is the man
that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall
speak with the enemies in the gate.
19-128:4 Behold,
that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth
the LORD.
19-135:8 Who
smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and
beast.
19-140:1 Deliver
me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from
the violent man;
19-140:4 Keep
me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
19-140:11 Let
not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
19-142:4 I
looked on my right hand, and beheld,
but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
19-143:2 And
enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
19-144:3 LORD,
what is man,
that thou takest knowledge of him! or the
son of man, that thou makest account of him!
19-144:4
