S,1535 sword
01-3:24 So he
drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims,
and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep
the way of the tree of life.
01-27:40 And by thy
sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy
brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou
shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
01-31:26 And Laban
said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me,
and carried away my daughters, as captives taken
with the sword?
01-34:25 And it
came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of
Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the
males.
01-34:26 And they
slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword,
and took Dinah out of Shechem’s house, and went out.
01-48:22 Moreover I
have given to thee one portion above thy brethren, which I took out of the hand
of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.
02-5:3 And they said, The God of the
Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the
desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with
pestilence, or with the sword.
02-5:21 And they said unto them, The LORD
look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the
eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
02-15:9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I
will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I
will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
02-17:13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his
people with the edge of the sword.
02-18:4 And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me
from the sword of Pharaoh:
02-22:24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I
will kill you with the sword; and your wives
shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
02-32:27 And he said unto them, Thus saith the
LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by
his side, and go in and out from gate
to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his
companion, and every man his neighbour.
03-26:6 And I
will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts
out of the land, neither shall the sword go
through your land.
03-26:7 And ye
shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
03-26:8 And five
of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to
flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
03-26:25 And I will
bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the
quarrel of my covenant: and when ye
are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you;
and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
03-26:33 And I will
scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword
after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
03-26:36 And upon
them that are left alive of you I
will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the
sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a
sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
03-26:37 And they
shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword,
when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
04-14:3 And
wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a
prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
04-14:43 For the
Amalekites and the Canaanites are there
before you, and ye shall fall by the sword:
because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with
you.
04-19:16 And
whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword
in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be
unclean seven days.
04-20:18 And Edom
said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the
sword.
04-21:24 And Israel
smote him with the edge of the sword, and
possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for
the border of the children of Ammon was strong.
04-22:23 And the
ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out
of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into
the way.
04-22:29 And Balaam
said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.
04-22:31 Then the
LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in
the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he
bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
04-31:8 And they
slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and
Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with
the sword.
05-13:15 Thou shalt
surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with
the edge of the sword.
05-20:13 And when
the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every
male thereof with the edge of the sword:
05-28:22 The LORD
shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an
inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue
thee until thou perish.
05-32:25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both
the young man and the virgin, the suckling also
with the man of gray hairs.
05-32:41 If I whet
my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on
judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that
hate me.
05-32:42 I will
make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword
shall devour flesh; and that with the
blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the
enemy.
05-33:29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the
LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the
sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall
be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
06-5:13 And it
came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and
looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and
said unto him, Art thou for us, or
for our adversaries?
06-6:21 And they
utterly destroyed all that was in the
city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the
edge of the sword.
06-8:24 And it
came to pass, when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai
in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased them, and when they were
all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they
were consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the
edge of the sword.
06-10:11 And it
came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down
great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with
hailstones than they whom the
children of Israel slew with the sword.
06-10:28 And that
day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them,
and all the souls that were therein;
he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king
of Jericho.
06-10:30 And the
LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he
smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the
souls that were therein; he let none
remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.
06-10:32 And the
LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second
day, and smote it with the edge of the sword,
and all the souls that were therein,
according to all that he had done to Libnah.
06-10:35 And they
took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword,
and all the souls that were therein
he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.
06-10:37 And they
took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword,
and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining,
according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all
the souls that were therein.
06-10:39 And he
took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them
with the edge of the sword, and utterly
destroyed all the souls that were therein;
he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to
the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.
06-11:10 And Joshua
at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those
kingdoms.
06-11:11 And they
smote all the souls that were therein
with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe:
and he burnt Hazor with fire.
06-11:12 And all
the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and
smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses
the servant of the LORD commanded.
06-11:14 And all
the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a
prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left
they any to breathe.
06-13:22 Balaam
also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.
06-19:47 And the
coast of the children of Dan went out too
little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against
Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword,
and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of
Dan their father.
06-24:12 And I sent
the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.
07-1:8 Now
the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and
smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set
the city on fire.
07-1:25 And
when he shewed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the
edge of the sword; but they let go the man and
all his family.
07-4:15 And
the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots,
and all his host, with the edge of
the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted
down off his chariot, and fled away
on his feet.
07-4:16 But
Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the
Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there
was not a man left.
07-7:14 And
his fellow answered and said, This is nothing
else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash,
a man of Israel: for into his hand
hath God delivered Midian, and all the host.
07-7:18 When
I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are
with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and
say, The sword
of the LORD, and of Gideon.
07-7:20 And
the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the
lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
07-7:22 And
the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man’s sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host:
and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.
07-8:10 Now
Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor,
and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the
east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword.
07-8:20 And
he said unto Jether his firstborn, Up, and
slay them. But the youth drew not his sword:
for he feared, because he was yet a
youth.
07-9:54 Then
he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw
thy sword, and slay me, that men say not of me,
A woman slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.
07-18:27 And
they took the things which Micah had
made, and the priest which he had, and came unto Laish, unto a people that were at quiet and secure: and they
smote them with the edge of the sword, and burnt
the city with fire.
07-20:2 And
the chief of all the people, even of
all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of
God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.
07-20:15 And
the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty
and six thousand men that drew sword, beside the
inhabitants of Gibeah, which were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
07-20:17 And
the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men
that drew sword: all these were men of war.
07-20:25 And
Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed
down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all
these drew the sword.
07-20:35 And
the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of
the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred men: all these
drew the sword.
07-20:37 And
the liers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers in wait drew themselves along, and smote all the city
with the edge of the sword.
07-20:46 So
that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that
drew the sword; all these were men of valour.
07-20:48 And
the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them
with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that
came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.
07-21:10 And
the congregation sent thither twelve thousand men of the valiantest, and
commanded them, saying, Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead with the edge
of the sword, with the women and the children.
09-13:22 So
it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people
that were with Saul and Jonathan: but
with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.
09-14:20 And
Saul and all the people that were with
him assembled themselves, and they came to the battle: and, behold, every man’s
sword was against his fellow, and there was a very great discomfiture.
09-15:8 And
he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the
people with the edge of the sword.
09-15:33 And
Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless,
so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces
before the LORD in Gilgal.
09-17:39 And
David girded his sword upon his armour, and he
assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And
David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.
09-17:45 Then
said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword,
and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD
of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
09-17:47 And
all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.
09-17:50 So
David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote
the Philistine, and slew him; but there
was no sword in the hand of David.
09-17:51 Therefore
David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword,
and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head
therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.
09-18:4 And
Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was
upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.
09-21:8 And
David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king’s
business required haste.
09-21:9 And
the priest said, The sword of Goliath the
Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the
ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for
there is no other save that here. And
David said, There is none like that;
give it me.
09-22:10 And
he enquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.
09-22:13 And
Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of
Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword,
and hast enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in
wait, as at this day?
09-22:19 And
Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and
oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.
09-25:13 And
David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword.
And they girded on every man his sword; and
David also girded on his sword: and there went
up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.
09-31:4 Then
said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword,
and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me
through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid.
Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
09-31:5 And
when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise upon his sword, and died with him.
10-1:12 And
they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his
son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they
were fallen by the sword.
10-1:22 From
the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned
not back, and the sword of Saul returned not
empty.
10-2:16 And
they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow’s side;
so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkathhazzurim,
which is in Gibeon.
10-2:26 Then
Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword
devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end?
how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their
brethren?
10-3:29 Let
it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father’s house; and let there not
fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that
leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword,
or that lacketh bread.
10-11:25 Then
David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this
thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth
one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and
overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
10-12:9 Wherefore
hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou
hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword,
and hast taken his wife to be thy
wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the
children of Ammon.
10-12:10 Now
therefore the sword shall never depart from
thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah
the Hittite to be thy wife.
10-15:14 And
David said unto all his servants that were
with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to
depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the
city with the edge of the sword.
10-18:8 For
the battle was there scattered over the face of all the country: and the wood
devoured more people that day than the sword
devoured.
10-20:8 When
they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them.
And Joab’s garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle
with a sword
fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell
out.
10-20:10 But
Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab’s hand: so he smote him
therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out
his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and
Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
10-21:16 And
Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of
the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed
three hundred shekels of brass in
weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.
10-23:10 He
arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave
unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great
victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
10-24:9 And
Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were
in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.
11-1:51 And
it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he
hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto
me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
11-2:8 And,
behold, thou hast with thee Shimei
the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in
the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I
sware to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.
11-2:32 And
the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more
righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword,
my father David not knowing thereof, to
wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son
of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.
11-3:24 And
the king said, Bring me a sword. And they
brought a sword before the king.
11-19:1 And
Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the
prophets with the sword.
11-19:10 And
he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children
of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy
prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my
life, to take it away.
11-19:14 And
he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the
children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and
slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my
life, to take it away.
11-19:17 And
it shall come to pass, that him that
escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay:
and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu
shall Elisha slay.
12-6:22 And
he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest
thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword
and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink,
and go to their master.
12-8:12 And
Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that
thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on
fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword,
and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.
12-10:25 And
it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering,
that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the
edge of the sword; and the guard and the
captains cast them out, and went to
the city of the house of Baal.
12-11:15 But
Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the
host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that
followeth her kill with the sword. For the
priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD.
12-11:20 And
all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew
Athaliah with the sword beside the king’s house.
12-19:7 Behold,
I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to
his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword
in his own land.
12-19:37 And
it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that
Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword:
and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in
his stead.
13-5:18 The
sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant
men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to
shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four
and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.
13-10:4 Then
said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword,
and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me.
But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
13-10:5 And
when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
13-21:5 And
Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand
and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and
Judah was four hundred threescore and
ten thousand men that drew sword.
13-21:12 Either
three years’ famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while
that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land,
and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now
therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.
13-21:16 And
David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth
and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand
stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
13-21:27 And
the LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his sword
again into the sheath thereof.
13-21:30 But
David could not go before it to enquire of God: for he was afraid because of
the sword of the angel of the LORD.
14-20:9 If,
when evil cometh upon us, as the sword,
judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy
presence, (for thy name is in this
house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
14-21:4 Now
when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened
himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword,
and divers also of the princes of
Israel.
14-23:14 Then
Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the
host, and said unto them, Have her forth of the ranges: and whoso followeth
her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest
said, Slay her not in the house of the LORD.
14-23:21 And
all the people of the land rejoiced: and the city was quiet, after that they
had slain Athaliah with the sword.
14-29:9 For,
lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and
our sons and our daughters and our wives are
in captivity for this.
14-32:21 And
the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the
leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with
shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god,
they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.
14-36:17 Therefore
he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with
the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and
had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for
age: he gave them all into his hand.
14-36:20 And
them that had escaped from the sword carried he
away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign
of the kingdom of Persia:
15-9:7 Since
the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day;
and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and
our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the
sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to
confusion of face, as it is this day.
16-4:18 For
the builders, every one had his sword girded by
his side, and so builded. And he that
sounded the trumpet was by me.
17-9:5 Thus
the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto
those that hated them.
18-1:15 And
the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them
away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
18-1:17 While
he was yet speaking, there came also
another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the
camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge
of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to
tell thee.
18-5:15 But
he saveth the poor from the sword, from their
mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
18-5:20 In
famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
18-15:22 He
believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the
sword.
18-19:29 Be
ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
18-20:25 It
is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
18-27:14 If
his children be multiplied, it is for
the sword: and his offspring shall not be
satisfied with bread.
18-33:18 He
keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
18-36:12 But
if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword,
and they shall die without knowledge.
18-39:22 He
mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.
18-40:19 He
is the chief of the ways of God: he
that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
18-41:26 The
sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the
spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.
19-7:12 If
he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath
bent his bow, and made it ready.
19-17:13 Arise,
O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:
19-22:20 Deliver
my soul from the sword; my darling from the
power of the dog.
19-37:14 The
wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their
bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and
to slay such as be of upright conversation.
19-37:15 Their
sword shall enter into their own heart, and
their bows shall be broken.
19-42:10 As with a sword
in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
19-44:3 For
they got not the land in possession by their own sword,
neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the
light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
19-44:6 For
I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword
save me.
19-45:3 Gird
thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty,
with thy glory and thy majesty.
19-57:4 My
soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
19-63:10 They
shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion
for foxes.
19-64:3 Who
whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
19-76:3 There
brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword,
and the battle. Selah.
19-78:62 He
gave his people over also unto the sword; and
was wroth with his inheritance.
19-78:64 Their
priests fell by the sword; and their widows made
no lamentation.
19-89:43 Thou
hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast
not made him to stand in the battle.
19-144:10 It is he that giveth salvation unto
kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.
19-149:6 Let the high praises of God be in
their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
20-5:4 But
her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
20-12:18 There
is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword:
but the tongue of the wise is health.
20-25:18 A
man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp
arrow.
22-3:8 They all
hold swords, being expert in war:
every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
23-1:20 But
if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword:
for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
23-2:4 And
he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall
beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation
shall not lift up sword against nation, neither
shall they learn war any more.
23-3:25 Thy
men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in
the war.
23-13:15 Every
one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
23-14:19 But
thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a
carcase trodden under feet.
23-21:15 For
they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword,
and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
23-22:2 Thou
that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.
23-27:1 In
that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword
shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked
serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is
in the sea.
23-31:8 Then
shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a
mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man,
shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword,
and his young men shall be discomfited.
23-34:5 For
my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it
shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
23-34:6 The
sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is
made fat with fatness, and with the
blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD
hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
23-37:7 Behold,
I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own
land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword
in his own land.
23-37:38 And
it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that
Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword;
and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in
his stead.
23-41:2 Who
raised up the righteous man from the
east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as
driven stubble to his bow.
23-49:2 And
he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the
shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver
hath he hid me;
23-51:19 These
two things are come unto thee; who
shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?
23-65:12 Therefore
will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all
bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I
spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
23-66:16 For
by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead
with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
24-2:30 In
vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying
lion.
24-4:10 Then
said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and
Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword
reacheth unto the soul.
24-5:12 They
have belied the LORD, and said, It is not
he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
24-5:17 And
they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy
flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they
shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.
24-6:25 Go
not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword
of the enemy and fear is on every side.
24-9:16 I
will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have
known: and I will send a sword after them, till
I have consumed them.
24-11:22 Therefore
thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall
die by the sword; their sons and their daughters
shall die by famine:
24-12:12 The
spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall
have peace.
24-14:12 When
they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an
oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
24-14:13 Then
said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give
you assured peace in this place.
24-14:15 Therefore
thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I
sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine
shall not be in this land; By sword and famine
shall those prophets be consumed.
24-14:16 And
the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem
because of the famine and the sword; and they
shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their
daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.
24-14:18 If
I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them
that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a
land that they know not.
24-15:2 And
it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then
thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are
for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.
24-15:3 And
I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the
heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.
24-15:9 She
that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone
down while it was yet day: she hath
been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
24-16:4 They
shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be
buried; but they shall be as dung
upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat
for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
24-18:21 Therefore
deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their
children, and be widows; and let
their men be put to death; let their
young men be slain by the sword in battle.
24-19:7 And
I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will
cause them to fall by the sword before their
enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcases
will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the
earth.
24-20:4 For
thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all
thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of
their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it:
and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he
shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
24-21:7 And
afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his
servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the
pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine,
into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their
enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite
them with the edge of the sword; he shall not
spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.
24-21:9 He
that abideth in this city shall die by the sword,
and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to
the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him
for a prey.
24-24:10 And
I will send the sword, the famine, and the
pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave
unto them and to their fathers.
24-25:16 And
they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
24-25:27 Therefore
thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel;
Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
24-25:29 For,
lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye
be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the
LORD of hosts.
24-25:31 A
noise shall come even to the ends of
the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with
all flesh; he will give them that are wicked
to the sword, saith the LORD.
24-26:23 And
they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the
king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his
dead body into the graves of the common people.
24-27:8 And
it shall come to pass, that the
nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of
Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of
Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence,
until I have consumed them by his hand.
24-27:13 Why
will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword,
by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the
nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
24-29:17 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make
them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
24-29:18 And
I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine,
and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the
kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and
a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:
24-31:2 Thus
saith the LORD, The people which were left
of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to
rest.
24-32:24 Behold
the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into
the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and
what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
24-32:36 And
now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city,
whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by
the sword, and by the famine, and by the
pestilence;
24-33:4 For
thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and
concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the
mounts, and by the sword;
24-34:4 Yet
hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the LORD of
thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword:
24-34:17 Therefore
thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty,
every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a
liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword,
to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into
all the kingdoms of the earth.
24-38:2 Thus
saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he
that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a
prey, and shall live.
24-39:18 For
I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee:
because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.
24-41:2 Then
arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and
smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made
governor over the land.
24-42:16 Then
it shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in
the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof ye were afraid, shall follow close
after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die.
24-42:17 So
shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn
there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine,
and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil
that I will bring upon them.
24-42:22 Now
therefore know certainly that ye shall die by the sword,
by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go and to sojourn.
24-43:11 And
when he cometh, he shall smite the land of Egypt, and deliver such as are for
death to death; and such as are for
captivity to captivity; and such as are for
the sword to the sword.
24-44:12 And
I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land
of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from
the least even unto the greatest, by the sword
and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
24-44:13 For
I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished
Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence:
24-44:18 But
since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink
offerings unto her, we have wanted all things,
and have been consumed by the sword and by
the famine.
24-44:27 Behold,
I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah
that are in the land of Egypt shall
be consumed by the sword and by the famine,
until there be an end of them.
24-44:28 Yet
a small number that escape the sword shall
return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of
Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose
words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
24-46:10 For
this is the day of the Lord GOD of
hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made
drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north
country by the river Euphrates.
24-46:14 Declare
ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say
ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword
shall devour round about thee.
24-46:16 He
made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us
go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the
oppressing sword.
24-47:6 O
thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up
thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
24-48:2 There shall be no more praise of Moab:
in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut
down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
24-48:10 Cursed
be he that doeth the work of the LORD
deceitfully, and cursed be he that
keepeth back his sword from blood.
24-49:37 For
I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that
seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:
24-50:16 Cut
off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of
harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they
shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own
land.
24-50:35 A
sword is upon
the Chaldeans, saith the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon
her princes, and upon her wise men.
24-50:36 A
sword is upon
the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall
be dismayed.
24-50:37 A
sword is upon
their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall
become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.
24-51:50 Ye
that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not
still: remember the LORD afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.
25-1:20 Behold,
O LORD; for I am in distress: my
bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously
rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.
25-2:21 The
young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men
are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou
hast killed, and not pitied.
25-4:9 They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken
through for want of the fruits of the
field.
25-5:9 We
gat our bread with the peril of our
lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
26-5:2 Thou
shalt burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of
the siege are fulfilled: and thou shalt take a third part, and smite about it with a knife: and a third part thou shalt
scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword
after them.
26-5:12 A
third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be
consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third
part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword
after them.
26-5:17 So
will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and
pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.
26-6:3 And
say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord
GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys;
Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
26-6:8 Yet
will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some
that shall escape the sword among the
nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
26-6:11 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say,
Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for they shall fall
by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence.
26-6:12 He
that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by
the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged
shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
26-7:15 The
sword is without,
and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword;
and he that is in the city, famine
and pestilence shall devour him.
26-11:8 Ye
have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD.
26-11:10 Ye
shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the
border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am
the LORD.
26-12:14 And
I will scatter toward every wind all that are
about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
26-12:16 But
I will leave a few men of them from the sword,
from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their
abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
26-14:17 Or
if I bring a sword
upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the
land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
26-14:21 For
thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon
Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the
noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
26-17:21 And
all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword,
and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know
that I the LORD have spoken it.
26-21:3 And
say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword
out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
26-21:4 Seeing
then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore
shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against
all flesh from the south to the north:
26-21:5 That
all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword
out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.
26-21:9 Son
of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword,
a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:
26-21:11 And
he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it
into the hand of the slayer.
26-21:12 Cry
and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.
26-21:13 Because
it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn
even the rod? it shall be no more, saith
the Lord GOD.
26-21:14 Thou
therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine
hands together, and let the sword be doubled
the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword
of the great men that are slain,
which entereth into their privy chambers.
26-21:15 I
have set the point of the sword against all
their gates, that their heart may
faint, and their ruins be multiplied:
ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.
26-21:19 Also,
thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword
of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land:
and choose thou a place, choose it at
the head of the way to the city.
26-21:20 Appoint
a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the
Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.
26-21:28 And
thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the
Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of
the glittering:
26-23:10 These
discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her
with the sword: and she became famous among
women; for they had executed judgment upon her.
26-23:25 And
I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee:
they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the
sword: they shall take thy sons and thy
daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.
26-24:21 Speak
unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my
sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that
which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left
shall fall by the sword.
26-25:13 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will
cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they
of Dedan shall fall by the sword.
26-26:6 And
her daughters which are in the field
shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know
that I am the LORD.
26-26:8 He
shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the
field: and he shall make a fort against thee, and cast a mount against thee,
and lift up the buckler against thee.
26-26:11 With
the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets: he shall slay thy
people by the sword, and thy strong garrisons
shall go down to the ground.
26-28:23 For
I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall
be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon
her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
26-29:8 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring a sword
upon thee, and cut off man and beast out of thee.
26-30:4 And
the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great pain
shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take
away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down.
26-30:5 Ethiopia,
and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the
land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.
26-30:6 Thus
saith the LORD; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her
power shall come down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord GOD.
26-30:17 The
young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword:
and these cities shall go into
captivity.
26-30:21 Son
of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it shall not
be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold
the sword.
26-30:22 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against
Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was
broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out
of his hand.
26-30:24 And
I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh’s arms,
and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.
26-30:25 But
I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh
shall fall down; and they shall know that I am
the LORD, when I shall put my sword into the
hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of
Egypt.
26-31:17 They
also went down into hell with him unto them
that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst
of the heathen.
26-31:18 To
whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt
thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth:
thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword.
This is Pharaoh and all his
multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
26-32:10 Yea,
I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly
afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword
before them; and they shall tremble at every
moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.
26-32:11 For
thus saith the Lord GOD; The sword of the king
of Babylon shall come upon thee.
26-32:20 They
shall fall in the midst of them that are slain
by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.
26-32:21 The
strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them
that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.
26-32:22 Asshur
is there and all her company: his
graves are about him: all of them
slain, fallen by the sword:
26-32:23 Whose
graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her
grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword,
which caused terror in the land of the living.
26-32:24 There
is Elam and all her multitude round
about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword,
which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, which
caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame
with them that go down to the pit.
26-32:25 They
have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves
are round about him: all of them
uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though their
terror was caused in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame
with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be slain.
26-32:26 There
is Meshech, Tubal, and all her
multitude: her graves are round about
him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword,
though they caused their terror in the land of the living.
26-32:28 Yea,
thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shalt lie with them that are slain with the sword.
26-32:29 There
is Edom, her kings, and all her
princes, which with their might are laid by them
that were slain by the sword: they shall lie
with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.
26-32:30 There
be the princes of the north, all of
them, and all the Zidonians, which are gone down with the slain; with their
terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to
the pit.
26-32:31 Pharaoh
shall see them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army slain by
the sword, saith the Lord GOD.
26-32:32 For
I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the
midst of the uncircumcised with them that
are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude,
saith the Lord GOD.
26-33:2 Son
of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring
the sword upon a land, if the people of the land
take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
26-33:3 If
when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he
blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
26-33:4 Then
whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon
his own head.
26-33:6 But
if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not
the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword
come, and take any person from among
them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the
watchman’s hand.
26-33:26 Ye
stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and
ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?
26-33:27 Say
thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are
in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and
him that is in the open field will I
give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
26-35:5 Because
thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:
26-35:8 And
I will fill his mountains with his slain men:
in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall
that are slain with the sword.
26-38:8 After
many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the
land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered
out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always
waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely
all of them.
26-38:21 And
I will call for a sword against him throughout
all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword
shall be against his brother.
26-39:23 And
the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their
iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from
them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
27-11:33 And
they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall
by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by
spoil, many days.
28-1:7 But
I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their
God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword,
nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.
28-2:18 And
in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and
with the fowls of heaven, and with the
creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make
them to lie down safely.
28-7:16 They
return, but not to the most High:
they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of
Egypt.
28-11:6 And
the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall
consume his branches, and devour them, because
of their own counsels.
28-13:16 Samaria
shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall
by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in
pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
29-2:8 Neither
shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
30-1:11 Thus
saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn
away the punishment thereof; because
he did pursue his brother with the sword, and
did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his
wrath for ever:
30-4:10 I
have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men
have I slain with the sword, and have taken away
your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils:
yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
30-7:9 And
the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall
be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
30-7:11 For
thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword,
and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.
30-7:17 Therefore
thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and
thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy
land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and
Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
30-9:1 I
saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the
door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I
will slay the last of them with the sword: he
that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not
be delivered.
30-9:4 And
though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine
eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.
30-9:10 All
the sinners of my people shall die by the sword,
which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
33-4:3 And
he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they
shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up a sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war any more.
33-5:6 And
they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword,
and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh
into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
33-6:14 Thou
shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt
not deliver; and that which thou
deliverest will I give up to the sword.
34-2:13 Behold,
I am against thee, saith the LORD of
hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off
thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be
heard.
34-3:3 The
horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the
glittering spear: and there is a
multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses;
they stumble upon their corpses:
34-3:15 There
shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut
thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the
cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.
36-2:12 Ye
Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by
my sword.
37-2:22 And
I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the
kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride
in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
38-9:13 When
I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons,
O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
38-11:17 Woe
to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword
shall be upon his arm, and upon his
right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly
darkened.
38-13:7 Awake,
O sword, against my shepherd, and against the
man that is my fellow, saith the LORD
of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn
mine hand upon the little ones.

40-26:51 And,
behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and
struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.
40-26:52 Then said
Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his
place: for all they that take the sword shall
perish with the sword.
41-14:47 And one of
them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a
servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
42-2:35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that
the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall
be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of
the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip:

garment, and buy one.

killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
45-8:35 Who shall
separate us from the love of Christ? shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
peril, or sword?
45-13:4 For he is
the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be
afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain:
for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
49-6:17 And take
the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God:
58-4:12 For the
word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.

the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword,

with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the
