07-10:6 And
the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served
Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and
the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook
the LORD, and served not him.
10-8:6 Then
David put garrisons in Syria of
Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he
went.
10-8:12 Of
Syria, and of Moab, and of the
children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of
Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
10-15:8 For
thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed
to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.
11-10:29 And
a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so
for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
11-11:25 And
he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that
Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel,
and reigned over Syria.
11-15:18 Then
Asa took all the silver and the gold that
were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of
the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king
Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus,
saying,
11-19:15 And
the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus:
and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be
king over Syria:
11-20:1 And
Benhadad the king of Syria
gathered all his host together: and there
were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots: and he went
up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.
11-20:20 And
they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and
Benhadad the king of Syria
escaped on an horse with the horsemen.
11-20:22 And
the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen
thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the
king of Syria will
come up against thee.
11-20:23 And
the servants of the king of Syria said
unto him, Their gods are gods of the
hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the
plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.
11-22:1 And
they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
11-22:3 And
the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not
out of the hand of the king of Syria?
11-22:31 But
the king of Syria
commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying,
Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.
12-5:1 Now
Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable,
because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
12-5:5 And
the king of Syria said, Go
to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and
took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
12-6:8 Then
the king of Syria warred
against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a
place shall be my camp.
12-6:11 Therefore
the heart of the king of Syria was
sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them,
Will ye not shew me which of us is for
the king of Israel?
12-6:23 And
he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he
sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of
Israel.
12-6:24 And
it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged
Samaria.
12-7:5 And
they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they
were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there
was no man there.
12-8:7 And
Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of
God is come hither.
12-8:9 So
Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing
of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy
son Benhadad king of Syria hath
sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
12-8:13 And
Hazael said, But what, is thy servant
a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD hath
shewed me that thou shalt be king
over Syria.
12-8:28 And
he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramothgilead; and the
Syrians wounded Joram.
12-8:29 And
king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians
had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of
Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel,
because he was sick.
12-9:14 So
Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now
Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.
12-9:15 But
king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians
had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell
it in Jezreel.
12-12:17 Then
Hazael king of Syria went
up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to
Jerusalem.
12-12:18 And
Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram,
and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed
things, and all the gold that was found
in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from
Jerusalem.
12-13:3 And
the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into
the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and
into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all their days.
12-13:4 And
Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the
oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.
12-13:7 Neither
did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots,
and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the
dust by threshing.
12-13:17 And
he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of
the LORD’S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the
Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
12-13:19 And
the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five
or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
12-13:22 But
Hazael king of Syria
oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
12-13:24 So
Hazael king of Syria died;
and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead.
12-15:37 In
those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of
Remaliah.
12-16:5 Then
Rezin king of Syria and
Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they
besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.
12-16:6 At
that time Rezin king of Syria
recovered Elath to Syria, and
drave the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto
this day.
12-16:7 So
Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and
save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which
rise up against me.
14-1:17 And
they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an
hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses
for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.
14-16:2 Then
Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD
and of the king’s house, and sent to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
14-16:7 And
at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him,
Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is
the host of the king of Syria
escaped out of thine hand.
14-18:10 And
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith
the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.
14-18:30 Now
the king of Syria had commanded
the captains of the chariots that were with
him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of
Israel.
14-20:2 Then
there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude
against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
14-22:5 He
walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of
Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramothgilead: and the Syrians smote Joram.
14-22:6 And
he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him
at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah
went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.
14-24:23 And
it came to pass at the end of the year, that
the host of Syria came
up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the
princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them
unto the king of Damascus.
14-28:5 Wherefore
the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and
carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also
delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great
slaughter.
14-28:23 For
he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because
the gods of the kings of Syria help
them, therefore will I sacrifice to
them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
23-7:1 And
it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king
of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of
Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could
not prevail against it.
23-7:2 And
it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was
moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the
wind.
23-7:4 And
say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for
the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
23-7:5 Because
Syria, Ephraim, and the son of
Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,
23-7:8 For
the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five
years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.
23-17:3 The
fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the
remnant of Syria: they
shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.
26-16:57 Before
thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that
are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee
round about.
26-27:16 Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy
making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work,
and fine linen, and coral, and agate.
28-12:12 And
Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he
kept sheep.
30-1:5 I
will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain
of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the
people of Syria shall
go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
40-4:24 And his
fame went throughout all Syria: and
they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and
torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were
lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
42-2:2 (And this taxing was first made when
Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
44-15:23 And they
wrote letters by them after this
manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in
Antioch and Syria and
Cilicia:
44-15:41 And he
went through Syria and
Cilicia, confirming the churches.
44-18:18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren,
and sailed thence into Syria, and
with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his
head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
44-20:3 And there abode three months. And when the
Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.
44-21:3 Now when
we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for
there the ship was to unlade her burden.
48-1:21 Afterwards
I came into the regions of Syria and
Cilicia;

01-25:20 And Isaac was
forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the
Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
01-28:5 And Isaac
sent away Jacob: and he went to Padanaram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah,
Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.
01-31:20 And Jacob
stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.
01-31:24 And God
came to Laban the Syrian in a
dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob
either good or bad.
05-26:5 And thou
shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there
with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous:
12-5:20 But
Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath
spared Naaman this Syrian, in
not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.
12-18:26 Then
said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I
pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews’ language in the ears of the
people that are on the wall.
15-4:7 And
in the days of Artaxerxes wrote Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel, and the rest of
their companions, unto Artaxerxes king of Persia; and the writing of the letter
was written in the Syrian tongue, and interpreted in
the Syrian
tongue.
23-36:11 Then
said Eliakim and Shebna and Joah unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, unto thy
servants in the Syrian
language; for we understand it; and
speak not to us in the Jews’ language, in the ears of the people that are on the wall.
42-4:27 And many
lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was
cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

10-8:5 And
when the Syrians of
Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand
men.
10-8:6 Then
David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he
went.
10-8:13 And
David gat him a name when he returned
from smiting of the Syrians in
the valley of salt, being eighteen
thousand men.
10-10:6 And
when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of
Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of
Bethrehob, and the Syrians of
Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ishtob
twelve thousand men.
10-10:8 And
the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in
of the gate: and the Syrians of
Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah, were
by themselves in the field.
10-10:9 When
Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he
chose of all the choice men of
Israel, and put them in array against
the Syrians:
10-10:11 And
he said, If the Syrians be
too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too
strong for thee, then I will come and help thee.
10-10:13 And
Joab drew nigh, and the people that were with
him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.
10-10:14 And
when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai,
and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and
came to Jerusalem.
10-10:15 And
when the Syrians saw
that they were smitten before Israel, they gathered themselves together.
10-10:16 And
Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were
beyond the river: and they came to Helam; and Shobach the captain of the
host of Hadarezer went before them.
10-10:17 And
when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over Jordan,
and came to Helam. And the Syrians set
themselves in array against David, and fought with him.
10-10:18 And
the Syrians fled
before Israel; and David slew the men of seven
hundred chariots of the Syrians, and
forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died
there.
10-10:19 And
when all the kings that were servants
to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel, they made peace with
Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.
11-20:20 And
they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Benhadad the
king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen.
11-20:21 And
the king of Israel went out, and smote the horses and chariots, and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter.
11-20:26 And
it came to pass at the return of the year, that Benhadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to
fight against Israel.
11-20:27 And
the children of Israel were numbered, and were all present, and went against
them: and the children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of
kids; but the Syrians filled
the country.
11-20:28 And
there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus
saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have
said, The LORD is God of the hills,
but he is not God of the valleys,
therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall
know that I am the LORD.
11-20:29 And
they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the
children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.
11-22:11 And
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith
the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.
11-22:35 And
the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot
against the Syrians, and
died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.
12-5:2 And
the Syrians had
gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a
little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.
12-6:9 And
the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not
such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
12-7:4 If
we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here,
we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we
shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
12-7:5 And
they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to
the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.
12-7:6 For
the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses,
even the noise of a great host: and
they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the
kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
12-7:10 So
they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying,
We came to the camp of the Syrians,
and, behold, there was no man there,
neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.
12-7:12 And
the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you
what the Syrians have
done to us. They know that we be hungry;
therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field,
saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into
the city.
12-7:14 They
took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
12-7:15 And
they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the
messengers returned, and told the king.
12-7:16 And
the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of
barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
12-8:28 And
he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael king of Syria in
Ramothgilead; and the Syrians
wounded Joram.
12-8:29 And
king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah,
when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram
king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was
sick.
12-9:15 But
king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he
fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell
it in Jezreel.
12-13:5 (And
the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of
the Syrians: and
the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.
12-13:17 And
he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of
the LORD’S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt
smite the Syrians in
Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
12-16:6 At
that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drave the Jews from
Elath: and the Syrians came
to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day.
12-24:2 And
the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites,
and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it,
according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.
13-18:5 And
when the Syrians of
Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand
men.
13-18:6 Then
David put garrisons in Syriadamascus;
and the Syrians
became David’s servants, and brought
gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
13-19:10 Now
when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose
out of all the choice of Israel, and put them
in array against the Syrians.
13-19:12 And
he said, If the Syrians be
too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too
strong for thee, then I will help thee.
13-19:14 So
Joab and the people that were with
him drew nigh before the Syrians unto
the battle; and they fled before him.
13-19:15 And
when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai
his brother, and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.
13-19:16 And
when the Syrians saw
that they were put to the worse before Israel, they sent messengers, and drew
forth the Syrians that
were beyond the river: and Shophach
the captain of the host of Hadarezer went
before them.
13-19:17 And
it was told David; and he gathered all Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came
upon them, and set the battle in
array against them. So when David had put the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
13-19:18 But
the Syrians fled
before Israel; and David slew of the Syrians seven thousand men which fought in chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and
killed Shophach the captain of the host.
13-19:19 And
when the servants of Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before
Israel, they made peace with David, and became his servants: neither would the Syrians help the children of Ammon
any more.
14-18:34 And
the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun
going down he died.
14-22:5 He
walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of
Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramothgilead: and the Syrians smote Joram.
14-24:24 For
the army of the Syrians came
with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into
their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they
executed judgment against Joash.
23-9:12 The
Syrians before, and the Philistines
behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is
not turned away, but his hand is stretched
