U,151 us
01-1:26 And God
said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
01-3:22 And the
LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us,
to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of
the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
01-5:29 And he
called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because
of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
01-11:3 And they
said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and
burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for
morter.
01-11:4 And they
said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto
heaven; and let us make us
a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
01-11:7 Go to,
let us go down, and there confound their
language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
01-19:5 And they
called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to
thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we
may know them.
01-19:13 For we
will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face
of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to
destroy it.
01-19:31 And the
firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not
a man in the earth to come in unto us after the
manner of all the earth:
01-19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with
him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
01-19:34 And it
came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I
lay yesternight with my father: let us make him
drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we
may preserve seed of our father.
01-20:9 Then
Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast
brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that
ought not to be done.
01-23:6 Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead;
none of us shall withhold from thee his
sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.
01-24:23 And said,
Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy
father’s house for us to lodge in?
01-24:55 And her
brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us
a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.
01-24:65 For she had
said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to
meet us? And the servant had said, It is
my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself.
01-26:10 And
Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and
thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.
01-26:16 And
Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou
art much mightier than we.
01-26:22 And he
removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and
he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room
for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
01-26:28 And they
said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be
now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us
make a covenant with thee;
01-26:29 That thou
wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee,
and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in
peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.
01-31:14 And Rachel
and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or
inheritance for us in our father’s house?
01-31:15 Are we not
counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us,
and hath quite devoured also our money.
01-31:37 Whereas
thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household
stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may
judge betwixt us both.
01-31:44 Now
therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I
and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
01-31:50 If thou shalt
afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my
daughters, no man is with us; see, God is
witness betwixt me and thee.
01-31:53 The God of
Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.
01-32:18 Then thou
shalt say, They be thy servant Jacob’s; it is a present sent unto
my lord Esau: and, behold, also he is behind us.
01-32:20 And say ye
moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is behind us.
For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth before me, and
afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept of me.
01-33:12 And he
said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee.
01-34:9 And make
ye marriages with us, and give your
daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto
you.
01-34:10 And ye
shall dwell with us: and the land shall be
before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.
01-34:14 And they
said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is
uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:
01-34:16 Then will
we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one
people.
01-34:17 But if ye
will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised;
then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.
01-34:21 These men are
peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell
in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough
for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us
give them our daughters.
01-34:22 Only
herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell
with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.
01-34:23 Shall not
their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? only
let us consent unto them, and they will dwell
with us.
01-35:3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an
altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in
the way which I went.
01-37:8 And his
brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us?
or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they
hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.
01-37:17 And the
man said, They are departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren,
and found them in Dothan.
01-37:20 Come now
therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him
into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall
see what will become of his dreams.
01-37:21 And Reuben
heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him.
01-37:27 Come, and
let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not
our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And
his brethren were content.
01-39:14 That she
called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath
brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried
with a loud voice:
01-39:17 And she
spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou
hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock
me:
01-41:12 And there
was there with us a young man, an Hebrew,
servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he
did interpret.
01-41:13 And it
came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was;
me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.
01-42:2 And he
said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither,
and buy for us from thence; that we may live,
and not die.
01-42:21 And they
said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in
that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us,
and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us.
01-42:28 And he
said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my
sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to
another, What is this that God hath done unto us?
01-42:30 The man, who
is the lord of the land, spake roughly to us,
and took us for spies of the country.
01-42:33 And the man,
the lord of the country, said unto us, Hereby
shall I know that ye are true men; leave one of your brethren here
with me, and take food for the famine of your households, and be
gone:
01-43:2 And it
came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of
Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us
a little food.
01-43:3 And Judah
spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your
brother be with you.
01-43:4 If thou
wilt send our brother with us, we will go down
and buy thee food:
01-43:5 But if
thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be
with you.
01-43:7 And they
said, The man asked us straitly of our state,
and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another
brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we
certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?
01-43:18 And the
men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said,
Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we
brought in; that he may seek occasion against us,
and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.
01-44:25 And our
father said, Go again, and buy us a
little food.
01-44:26 And we
said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man’s
face, except our youngest brother be with us.
01-44:27 And thy servant
my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife
bare me two sons:
01-44:30 Now
therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad’s
life;
01-44:31 It shall
come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring
down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave.
01-47:15 And when
money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians
came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for
why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth.
01-47:19 Wherefore
shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be
servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed,
that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
01-47:25 And they
said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find
grace in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.
01-50:15 And when Joseph’s
brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure
hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.
02-1:10 Come on, let us deal
wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there
falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
02-2:14 And he said,
Who made thee a prince and a judge over us?
intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and
said, Surely this thing is known.
02-2:19 And they
said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand
of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.
02-3:18 And they
shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel,
unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews
hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days’ journey into the
wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
02-5:3 And they
said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us:
let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey
into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.
02-5:8 And the
tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye
shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore
they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice
to our God.
02-5:16 There is
no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us,
Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in
thine own people.
02-5:17 But he
said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.
02-5:21 And they
said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our
savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants,
to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
02-8:26 And Moses
said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the
Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the
Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?
02-8:27 We will go
three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as
he shall command us.
02-10:7 And
Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their
God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
02-10:25 And Moses
said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and
burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
02-10:26 Our cattle
also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof
be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know
not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
02-13:14 And it
shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this?
that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:
02-13:15 And it
came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us
go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the
firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD
all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children
I redeem.
02-13:16 And it
shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for
by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth
out of Egypt.
02-14:5 And it
was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and
of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done
this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
02-14:11 And they
said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou
dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
02-14:12 Is not
this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it
had been better for us to serve the
Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
02-14:25 And took
off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians
said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for
the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
02-16:3 And the
children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the
LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did
eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us
forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
02-16:7 And in
the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your
murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
02-16:8 And Moses
said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh
to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your
murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings
are not against us, but against the LORD.
02-17:2 Wherefore
the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us
water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me?
wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
02-17:3 And the people
thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said,
Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us
up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and
our cattle with thirst?
02-17:7 And he
called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the
children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD
among us, or not?
02-17:9 And Moses
said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out,
fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod
of God in mine hand.
02-19:23 And Moses
said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou
chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the
mount, and sanctify it.
02-20:19 And they
said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will
hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we
die.
02-24:14 And he
said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us,
until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you:
if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.
02-32:1 And when
the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people
gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is
become of him.
02-32:23 For they
said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go
before us: for as for this Moses, the man
that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we
wot not what is become of him.
02-33:15 And he
said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
02-33:16 For
wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy
sight? is it not in that thou goest with us?
so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon
the face of the earth.
02-34:9 And he
said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee,
go among us; for it is a stiffnecked
people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us
for thine inheritance.
04-10:29 And Moses
said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are
journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou
with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD
hath spoken good concerning Israel.
04-10:31 And he
said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as
thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.
04-10:32 And it
shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be,
that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us,
the same will we do unto thee.
04-11:4 And the
mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of
Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us
flesh to eat?
04-11:13 Whence
should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me,
saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
04-11:18 And say
thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat
flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and
ye shall eat.
04-12:2 And they
said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
04-12:11 And Aaron
said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we
have sinned.
04-13:27 And they
told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and
this is the fruit of it.
04-13:30 And Caleb
stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us
go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
04-14:3 And
wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this
land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey?
were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
04-14:4 And they
said one to another, Let us make a captain, and
let us return into Egypt.
04-14:8 If the
LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
04-14:9 Only
rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they
are bread for us: their defence is
departed from them, and the LORD is with us:
fear them not.
04-16:13 Is it a
small thing that thou hast brought us up out of
a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us
in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?
04-16:14 Moreover
thou hast not brought us into a land that
floweth with milk and honey, or given us
inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men?
we will not come up.
04-16:34 And all
Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they
said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
04-20:5 And
wherefore have ye made us to come up out of
Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is
no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is
there any water to drink.
04-20:14 And Moses
sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother
Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:
04-20:15 How our
fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the
Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:
04-20:16 And when
we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought
us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in
Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:
04-20:17 Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not
pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the
water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn
to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
04-21:5 And the
people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there
is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this
light bread.
04-21:7 Therefore
the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the
LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from
us. And Moses prayed for the people.
04-22:4 And Moab
said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round
about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the
field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that
time.
04-22:14 And the
princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam refuseth to
come with us.
04-27:4 Why
should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he
hath no son? Give unto us therefore a
possession among the brethren of our father.
04-31:49 And they
said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are
under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.
04-32:5 Wherefore,
said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy
servants for a possession, and bring us
not over Jordan.
04-32:19 For we
will not inherit with them on yonder side Jordan, or forward; because our
inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan
eastward.
05-1:6 The LORD
our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt
long enough in this mount:
05-1:14 And ye
answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken is good for us to do.
05-1:19 And when
we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness,
which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God
commanded us; and we came to Kadeshbarnea.
05-1:20 And I
said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD
our God doth give unto us.
05-1:22 And ye
came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us
out the land, and bring us word again by what
way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
05-1:25 And they
took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us word
again, and said, It is a good land which the LORD our God doth give us.
05-1:27 And ye
murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us
forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into
the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.
05-1:41 Then ye
answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and
fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were
ready to go up into the hill.
05-2:29 (As the
children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did
unto me;) until I shall pass over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God
giveth us.
05-2:30 But Sihon
king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him:
for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he
might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day.
05-2:32 Then
Sihon came out against us, he and all his
people, to fight at Jahaz.
05-2:33 And the
LORD our God delivered him before us; and we
smote him, and his sons, and all his people.
05-2:36 From
Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the
city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too
strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all
unto us:
05-2:37 Only unto
the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of
the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the
LORD our God forbad us.
05-3:1 Then we
turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out
against us, he and all his people, to battle at
Edrei.
05-5:2 The LORD
our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
05-5:3 The LORD
made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us,
even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
05-5:24 And ye
said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us
his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of
the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
05-5:25 Now
therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more,
then we shall die.
05-5:27 Go thou
near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee;
and we will hear it, and do it.
05-6:21 Then thou
shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD
brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
05-6:23 And he
brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the
land which he sware unto our fathers.
05-6:24 And the
LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to
fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
05-6:25 And it
shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before
the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
05-9:28 Lest the
land whence thou broughtest us out say, Because
the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and
because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.
05-13:2 And the
sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and
let us serve them;
05-13:6 If thy
brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy
bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly,
saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which
thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
05-13:13 Certain
men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have
withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us
go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
05-26:3 And thou
shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I
profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which
the LORD sware unto our fathers for to give us.
05-26:6 And the
Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us
hard bondage:
05-26:8 And the
LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty
hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with
signs, and with wonders:
05-26:9 And he
hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with
milk and honey.
05-26:15 Look down
from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the
land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest
unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
05-29:7 And when
ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan,
came out against us unto battle, and we smote
them:
05-29:15 But with him
that standeth here with us this day before
the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:
05-29:29 The secret
things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed
belong unto us and to our children for
ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
05-30:12 It is not
in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us,
that we may hear it, and do it?
05-30:13 Neither is
it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us,
that we may hear it, and do it?
05-31:17 Then my
anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I
will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and
troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these
evils come upon us, because our God is not
among us?
05-33:4 Moses
commanded us a law, even the inheritance
of the congregation of Jacob.
06-1:16 And they
answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us
we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us,
we will go.
06-2:9 And she said
unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your
terror is fallen upon us, and that all the
inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
06-2:14 And the men
answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it
shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land,
that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.
06-2:17 And the
men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou
hast made us swear.
06-2:18 Behold, when
we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the
window which thou didst let us down by: and thou
shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s
household, home unto thee.
06-2:20 And if
thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou
hast made us to swear.
06-2:24 And they
said unto Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land;
for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.
06-4:23 For the
LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were
passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from
before us, until we were gone over:
06-5:6 For the
children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that
were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they
obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not
shew them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
06-5:13 And it
came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked,
and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his
hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
06-7:7 And
Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people
over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the
Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had
been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!
06-7:9 For the
Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and
shall environ us round, and cut off our name
from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name?
06-7:25 And
Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD
shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned
them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
06-8:5 And I,
and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it
shall come to pass, when they come out against us,
as at the first, that we will flee before them,
06-8:6 (For
they will come out after us) till we have drawn
them from the city; for they will say, They flee before us, as at the first: therefore we will flee before them.
06-9:6 And they
went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of
Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us.
06-9:7 And the
men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?
06-9:11 Wherefore
our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey,
and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore
now make ye a league with us.
06-9:20 This we
will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.
06-9:22 And
Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye
beguiled us, saying, We are very far from
you; when ye dwell among us?
06-9:25 And now,
behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to
do unto us, do.
06-10:6 And the
men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy
hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly,
and save us, and help us:
for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered
together against us.
06-17:4 And they
came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and
before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore
according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the
brethren of their father.
06-17:16 And the
children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us:
and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of
iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who
are of the valley of Jezreel.
06-21:2 And they
spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by
the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in,
with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.
06-22:17 Is the
iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which
we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the
congregation of the LORD,
06-22:19 Notwithstanding,
if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of
the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD’S tabernacle dwelleth, and take
possession among us: but rebel not against the
LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an
altar beside the altar of the LORD our God.
06-22:22 The LORD
God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it
be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)
06-22:23 That we
have built us an altar to turn from following the
LORD, or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meat offering, or if to offer
peace offerings thereon, let the LORD himself require it;
06-22:25 For the
LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and
you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so
shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
06-22:26 Therefore
we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for
sacrifice:
06-22:27 But that
it may be a witness between us, and you, and our
generations after us, that we might do the
service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our
sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our
children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD.
06-22:28 Therefore
said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us
or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the
pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt
offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.
06-22:31 And
Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to
the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that
the LORD is among us, because ye have not
committed this trespass against the LORD: now ye have delivered the children of
Israel out of the hand of the LORD.
06-22:34 And the
children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be
a witness between us that the LORD is God.
06-24:17 For the
LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and
our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did
those great signs in our sight, and preserved us
in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we
passed:
06-24:18 And the
LORD drave out from before us all the people,
even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the
LORD; for he is our God.
06-24:27 And Joshua
said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which
he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a
witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.
07-1:1 Now after the death of Joshua it
came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go
up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight
against them?
07-1:24 And the
spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Shew us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we
will shew thee mercy.
07-6:13 And
Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us,
why then is all this befallen us? and where be
all his miracles which our fathers told us of,
saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?
but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered
us into the hands of the Midianites.
07-8:1 And the
men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us
thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou
wentest to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply.
07-8:21 Then
Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise thou, and fall upon us:
for as the man is, so is his strength. And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and
Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on their camels’ necks.
07-8:22 Then the
men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule thou over us,
both thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian.
07-9:8 The trees
went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive
tree, Reign thou over us.
07-9:10 And the
trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us.
07-9:12 Then said
the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us.
07-9:14 Then said
all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.
07-10:15 And the
children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.
07-11:8 And the
elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that
thou mayest go with us, and fight against the
children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
07-11:10 And the
elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The LORD be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.
07-11:19 And Israel
sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and
Israel said unto him, Let us pass, we pray thee,
through thy land into my place.
07-11:24 Wilt not
thou possess that which Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So whomsoever
the LORD our God shall drive out from before us,
them will we possess.
07-12:1 And the
men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto
Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon,
and didst not call us to go with thee? we will
burn thine house upon thee with fire.
07-13:8 Then
Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou
didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.
07-13:15 And Manoah
said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us
detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.
07-13:23 But his wife
said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us,
he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands,
neither would he have shewed us all these
things, nor would as at this time have told us
such things as these.
07-14:15 And it
came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson’s wife, Entice thy
husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle,
lest we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye called us to take that we have? is it not so?
07-15:10 And the
men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us?
And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done
to us.
07-15:11 Then three
thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson,
Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us?
what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he
said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.
07-16:5 And the
lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and
see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against
him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.
07-16:24 And when
the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath
delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which
slew many of us.
07-16:25 And it
came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson,
that he may make us sport. And they called for
Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him
between the pillars.
07-18:19 And they
said unto him, Hold thy peace, lay thine hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a
father and a priest: is it better for thee to be a priest unto the house of one
man, or that thou be a priest unto a tribe and a family in Israel?
07-18:25 And the
children of Dan said unto him, Let not thy voice be heard among us, lest angry fellows run upon thee, and thou lose
thy life, with the lives of thy household.
07-19:11 And when
they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said unto his
master, Come, I pray thee, and let us turn in
into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.
07-19:13 And he
said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw
near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.
07-19:28 And he
said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none
answered. Then the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and gat
him unto his place.
07-20:3 (Now the
children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.)
Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how
was this wickedness?
07-20:8 And all
the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us
turn into his house.
07-20:13 Now
therefore deliver us the men, the children of
Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil
from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of
their brethren the children of Israel:
07-20:18 And the
children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of
God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to
the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go
up first.
07-20:32 And the
children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them from the city unto the
highways.
07-20:39 And when
the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite and kill of
the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten
down before us, as in the first battle.
07-21:1 Now the
men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.
07-21:22 And it
shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be
favourable unto them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his
wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be
guilty.
08-2:20 And Naomi said unto her
daughter in law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who hath not left off his kindness
to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin
unto us, one of our next kinsmen.
09-4:3 And when the people were come into
the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the LORD smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of
Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out
of the hand of our enemies.
09-4:7 And the
Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they
said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such
a thing heretofore.
09-4:8 Woe unto
us! who shall deliver us
out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the
Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.
09-5:7 And when
the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall
not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.
09-5:10 Therefore
they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came
to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark
of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.
09-5:11 So they
sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send
away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that
it slay us not, and our people: for there was a
deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy
there.
09-6:2 And the
Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do
to the ark of the LORD? tell us wherewith we
shall send it to his place.
09-6:9 And see,
if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Bethshemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know
that it is not his hand that smote us: it was a
chance that happened to us.
09-6:20 And the men
of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to
whom shall he go up from us?
09-7:8 And the
children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us
out of the hand of the Philistines.
09-7:12 Then
Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of
it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.
09-8:5 And said
unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us
like all the nations.
09-8:6 But the
thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us
a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the
LORD.
09-8:19 Nevertheless
the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will
have a king over us;
09-8:20 That we
also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us,
and fight our battles.
09-9:5 And when
they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him,
Come, and let us return; lest my father leave
caring for the asses, and take thought for us.
09-9:6 And he
said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable
man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us
go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way
that we should go.
09-9:8 And the
servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth
part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.
09-9:9 (Beforetime
in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet
was beforetime called a Seer.)
09-9:10 Then said
Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go.
So they went unto the city where the man of God was.
09-9:27 And as
they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the
servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,)
but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.
09-10:16 And Saul
said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the
asses were found. But of the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spake, he
told him not.
09-10:19 And ye have
this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities
and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD
by your tribes, and by your thousands.
09-10:27 But the
children of Belial said, How shall this man save us?
And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.
09-11:1 Then
Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men
of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us,
and we will serve thee.
09-11:3 And the
elders of Jabesh said unto him, Give us seven
days’ respite, that we may send messengers unto all the coasts of Israel: and
then, if there be no man to save us, we will
come out to thee.
09-11:10 Therefore
the men of Jabesh said, To morrow we will come out unto you, and ye shall do
with us all that seemeth good unto you.
09-11:12 And the
people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.
09-11:14 Then said
Samuel to the people, Come, and let us go to
Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.
09-12:4 And they
said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man’s hand.
09-12:10 And they
cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the
LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve
thee.
09-12:12 And when
ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said
unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us:
when the LORD your God was your king.
09-12:19 And all
the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the LORD thy God, that
we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.
09-14:1 Now it
came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man
that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over
to the Philistines’ garrison, that is on the other side. But he told not his
father.
09-14:6 And
Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised:
it may be that the LORD will work for us: for
there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.
09-14:9 If they
say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you;
then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.
09-14:10 But if
they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up:
for the LORD hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be a sign unto us.
09-14:12 And the
men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up
to us, and we will shew you a thing. And
Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the LORD hath
delivered them into the hand of Israel.
09-14:17 Then said
Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and
his armourbearer were not there.
09-14:36 And Saul
said, Let us go down after the Philistines by
night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us
not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee.
Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto
God.
09-17:9 If he be
able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I
prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
09-20:11 And
Jonathan said unto David, Come, and let us go
out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field.
09-20:42 And
Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be
between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose
and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.
09-21:5 And David
answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the
vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea,
though it were sanctified this day in the vessel.
09-23:19 Then came
up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of
Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?
09-25:7 And now I
have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing
unto them, all the while they were in Carmel.
09-25:15 But the
men were very good unto us, and we were not
hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them,
when we were in the fields:
09-25:16 They were
a wall unto us both by night and day, all the
while we were with them keeping the sheep.
09-25:40 And when
the servants of David were come to Abigail to Carmel, they spake unto her,
saying, David sent us unto thee, to take thee to
him to wife.
09-26:11 The LORD
forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed: but, I
pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his bolster, and the cruse of
water, and let us go.
09-27:11 And David
saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they
should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so
will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
09-29:4 And the
princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the
Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his
place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to
us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself
unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?
09-29:9 And
Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an
angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He
shall not go up with us to the battle.
09-30:22 Then
answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David,
and said, Because they went not with us, we will
not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his
wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.
09-30:23 Then said
David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us,
and delivered the company that came against us
into our hand.
10-2:14 And Abner said to Joab,
Let the young men now arise, and play before us.
And Joab said, Let them arise.
10-5:2 Also in
time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast
he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou
shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.
10-10:12 Be of good
courage, and let us play the men for our people,
and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.
10-11:23 And the
messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us
into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.
10-13:25 And the
king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not
all now go, lest we be chargeable unto thee. And he pressed him: howbeit he
would not go, but blessed him.
10-13:26 Then said
Absalom, If not, I pray thee, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with
thee?
10-15:14 And David
said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom:
make speed to depart, lest he overtake us
suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the
city with the edge of the sword.
10-15:19 Then said
the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for
thou art a stranger, and also an exile.
10-15:20 Whereas
thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back
thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee.
10-17:5 Then said
Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us
hear likewise what he saith.
10-18:3 But the
people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not
care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us:
but now thou art worth ten thousand of us:
therefore now it is better that thou succour us
out of the city.
10-19:9 And all
the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king
saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he
delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines;
and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.
10-19:10 And
Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in
battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?
10-19:42 And all
the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king is near of kin to
us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter?
have we eaten at all of the king’s cost? or hath he given us any gift?
10-19:43 And the
men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the
king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in
bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the
words of the men of Israel.
10-20:6 And David
said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us
more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lord’s servants, and pursue after
him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.
10-21:4 And the
Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his
house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in
Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
10-21:5 And they
answered the king, The man that consumed us, and
that devised against us that we should be
destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
10-21:6 Let seven
men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will
hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the
king said, I will give them.
10-21:17 But
Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed
him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out
with us to battle, that thou quench not the
light of Israel.
10-24:14 And David
said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us
fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not
fall into the hand of man.
11-3:18 And it came to pass
the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also:
and we were together; there was no stranger with us
in the house, save we two in the house.
11-5:6 Now
therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my
servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy
servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there
is not among us any that can skill to hew timber
like unto the Sidonians.
11-8:57 The LORD
our God be with us, as he was with our fathers:
let him not leave us, nor forsake us:
11-12:4 Thy father
made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy
father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us,
lighter, and we will serve thee.
11-12:9 And he
said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have
spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?
11-12:10 And the
young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou
speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy,
but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt
thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins.
11-18:23 Let them
therefore give us two bullocks; and let them
choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood,
and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood,
and put no fire under:
11-18:26 And they
took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the
name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And
they leaped upon the altar which was made.
11-20:23 And the
servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills;
therefore they were stronger than we; but let us
fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.
11-20:31 And his
servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house
of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray
thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the
king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.
12-1:6 And they said unto him, There came
a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and
say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in
Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore
thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt
surely die.
12-4:9 And she
said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God,
which passeth by us continually.
12-4:10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall;
and let us set for him there a bed, and a table,
and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
12-4:13 And he
said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee?
wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she
answered, I dwell among mine own people.
12-6:1 And the
sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with
thee is too strait for us.
12-6:2 Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence
every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered,
Go ye.
12-6:11 Therefore
the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called
his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?
12-6:16 And he
answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are
more than they that be with them.
12-7:4 If we
say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall
die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
12-7:6 For the
Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise
of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo,
the king of Israel hath hired against us the
kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
12-7:9 Then
they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings,
and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will
come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go
and tell the king’s household.
12-7:12 And the
king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what
the Syrians have done to us. They know that we
be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the
field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and
get into the city.
12-7:13 And one
of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the
horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the
multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all
the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.
12-9:5 And when
he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an
errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.
12-9:12 And they
said, It is false; tell us now. And he said,
Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee
king over Israel.
12-10:5 And he
that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and
the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and
will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not
make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.
12-14:8 Then
Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of
Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in
the face.
12-18:26 Then said
Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray
thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk
not with us in the Jews’ language in the ears of
the people that are on the wall.
12-18:30 Neither let
Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand
of the king of Assyria.
12-18:32 Until I
come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a
land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that ye may
live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you,
saying, The LORD will deliver us.
12-19:19 Now
therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us
out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the
LORD God, even thou only.
12-22:13 Go ye,
enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning
the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that
is kindled against us, because our fathers have
not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which
is written concerning us.
13-13:2 And David said unto
all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the
LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our
brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also
to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may
gather themselves unto us:
13-13:3 And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.
13-15:13 For
because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
13-16:35 And say
ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us
from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy
praise.
13-19:13 Be of good
courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly
for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which
is good in his sight.
14-10:4 Thy father made our
yoke grievous: now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy
father, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us,
and we will serve thee.
14-10:9 And he
said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this people,
which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put
upon us?
14-10:10 And the
young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou
answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy,
but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus
shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s
loins.
14-13:10 But as for
us, the LORD is our God, and we have not
forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of
Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:
14-13:12 And,
behold, God himself is with us for our captain,
and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of
Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not
prosper.
14-14:7 Therefore
he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and
make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet
before us; because we have sought the LORD our
God, we have sought him, and he hath given us
rest on every side. So they built and prospered.
14-14:11 And Asa
cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help,
whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy
name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man
prevail against thee.
14-20:9 If, when
evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or
pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for
thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt
hear and help.
14-20:11 Behold, I
say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
14-20:12 O our God,
wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that
cometh against us; neither know we what to do:
but our eyes are upon thee.
14-25:17 Then
Amaziah king of Judah took advice, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the
son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us
see one another in the face.
14-29:10 Now it is
in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that his fierce
wrath may turn away from us.
14-32:7 Be strong
and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all
the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us
than with him:
14-32:8 With him
is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our
God to help us, and to fight our battles. And
the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
14-32:11 Doth not
Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine and by thirst,
saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of
the hand of the king of Assyria?
14-34:21 Go,
enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning
the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is
poured out upon us, because our fathers have not
kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.
15-4:2 Then they came to Zerubbabel, and
to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us
build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him
since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.
15-4:3 But
Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel,
said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to
build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD
God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.
15-4:12 Be it
known unto the king, that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the rebellious
and the bad city, and have set up the walls thereof, and joined the
foundations.
15-4:14 Now
because we have maintenance from the king’s palace, and it was not meet for us to see the king’s dishonour, therefore have we sent
and certified the king;
15-4:18 The
letter which ye sent unto us hath been plainly
read before me.
15-5:11 And thus
they returned us answer, saying, We are the
servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was builded
these many years ago, which a great king of Israel builded and set up.
15-5:17 Now therefore,
if it seem good to the king, let there be search made in the king’s treasure
house, which is there at Babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of
Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send
his pleasure to us concerning this matter.
15-8:17 And I
sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I
told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at
the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us
ministers for the house of our God.
15-8:18 And by
the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the
son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren,
eighteen;
15-8:21 Then I
proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves
before our God, to seek of him a right way for us,
and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
15-8:22 For I was
ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken
unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek
him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
15-8:23 So we
fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
15-8:31 Then we
departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go
unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us,
and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy,
and of such as lay in wait by the way.
15-9:8 And now
for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten
our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our
bondage.
15-9:9 For we
were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us
in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us
in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us
a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations
thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in
Jerusalem.
15-9:13 And after
all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and
for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this;
15-9:14 Should we
again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these
abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us
till thou hadst consumed us, so that there
should be no remnant nor escaping?
15-10:3 Now
therefore let us make a covenant with our God to
put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel
of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it
be done according to the law.
15-10:14 Let now
our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken
strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders
of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for
this matter be turned from us.
16-2:17 Then said I unto them,
Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates
thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us
build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.
16-2:18 Then I
told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s
words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us
rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.
16-2:19 But when
Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the
Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and
despised us, and said, What is this thing that
ye do? will ye rebel against the king?
16-2:20 Then answered
I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build:
but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.
16-4:12 And it
came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return
unto us they will be upon you.
16-4:15 And it
came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that
we returned all of us to the wall, every one
unto his work.
16-4:20 In what
place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.
16-4:22 Likewise
at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge
within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day.
16-4:23 So
neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which
followed me, none of us put off our clothes,
saving that every one put them off for washing.
16-5:8 And I
said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which
were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they
be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and
found nothing to answer.
16-5:10 I
likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn:
I pray you, let us leave off this usury.
16-5:17 Moreover
there were at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside
those that came unto us from among the heathen
that are about us.
16-6:2 That
Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us
meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought
to do me mischief.
16-6:7 And thou
hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying, There is a
king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these
words. Come now therefore, and let us take
counsel together.
16-6:9 For they
all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be
weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen
my hands.
16-6:10 Afterward
I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who
was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together
in the house of God, within the temple, and let us
shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the
night will they come to slay thee.
16-6:16 And it
came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that
were about us saw these things, they were much
cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of
our God.
16-9:32 Now
therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest
covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath
come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and
on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people,
since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
16-9:33 Howbeit
thou art just in all that is brought upon us;
for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:
16-9:37 And it
yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over
our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great
distress.
16-10:32 Also we
made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves
yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God;
16-13:18 Did not
your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon
Israel by profaning the sabbath.
18-9:33 Neither is there any
daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon
us both.
18-15:9 What
knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
18-15:10 With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much
elder than thy father.
18-21:14 Therefore
they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire
not the knowledge of thy ways.
18-22:17 Which said
unto God, Depart from us: and what can the
Almighty do for them?
18-31:15 Did not he
that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?
18-34:4 Let us choose to us
judgment: let us know among ourselves what is
good.
18-34:37 For he
addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
18-35:11 Who
teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth,
and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
18-37:19 Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our
speech by reason of darkness.
19-2:3 Let us
break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
19-4:6 There be
many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD,
lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
19-12:4 Who have
said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?
19-17:11 They have
now compassed us in our steps: they have set
their eyes bowing down to the earth;
19-20:9 Save,
LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
19-33:22 Let thy
mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope
in thee.
19-34:3 O magnify
the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name
together.
19-44:1 We have
heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us,
what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
19-44:5 Through
thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under
that rise up against us.
19-44:7 But thou
hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put
them to shame that hated us.
19-44:9 But thou
hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest
not forth with our armies.
19-44:10 Thou
makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they
which hate us spoil for themselves.
19-44:11 Thou hast
given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast
scattered us among the heathen.
19-44:13 Thou
makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn
and a derision to them that are round about us.
19-44:14 Thou
makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking
of the head among the people.
19-44:17 All this
is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee,
neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
19-44:19 Though
thou hast sore broken us in the place of
dragons, and covered us with the shadow of
death.
19-44:23 Awake, why
sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off
for ever.
19-44:26 Arise for
our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake.
19-46:7 The LORD
of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our
refuge. Selah.
19-46:11 The LORD
of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our
refuge. Selah.
19-47:3 He shall
subdue the people under us, and the nations
under our feet.
19-47:4 He shall
choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of
Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
19-54:title To the chief Musician on Neginoth,
Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David
hide himself with us?
19-60:1 O God,
thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
19-60:3 Thou hast
shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us
to drink the wine of astonishment.
19-60:10 Wilt not
thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou,
O God, which didst not go out with our armies?
19-60:11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
19-62:8 Trust in
him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge
for us. Selah.
19-65:5 By
terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us,
O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
and of them that are afar off upon the sea:
19-66:10 For thou,
O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
19-66:11 Thou
broughtest us into the net; thou laidst
affliction upon our loins.
19-66:12 Thou hast
caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but
thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
19-67:1 God be
merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
19-67:6 Then
shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
19-67:7 God shall
bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall
fear him.
19-68:19 Blessed be
the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits,
even the God of our salvation. Selah.
19-68:28 Thy God
hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought
for us.
19-74:1 O God,
why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth
thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
19-74:8 They said
in their hearts, Let us destroy them together:
they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
19-74:9 We see
not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
19-78:3 Which we
have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
19-79:4 We are
become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are
round about us.
19-79:8 O
remember not against us former iniquities: let
thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we
are brought very low.
19-79:9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name:
and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy
name’s sake.
19-80:2 Before
Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save
us.
19-80:3 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we
shall be saved.
19-80:6 Thou
makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our
enemies laugh among themselves.
19-80:7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine;
and we shall be saved.
19-80:18 So will
not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we
will call upon thy name.
19-80:19 Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to
shine; and we shall be saved.
19-83:4 They have
said, Come, and let us cut them off from being
a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
19-83:12 Who said,
Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in
possession.
19-85:4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger
toward us to cease.
19-85:5 Wilt thou
be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out
thine anger to all generations?
19-85:6 Wilt thou
not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice
in thee?
19-85:7 Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
19-85:13 Righteousness
shall go before him; and shall set us in
the way of his steps.
19-90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts
unto wisdom.
19-90:14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be
glad all our days.
19-90:15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast
afflicted us, and the years wherein we
have seen evil.
19-90:17 And let
the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish
thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the
work of our hands establish thou it.
19-95:1 O come,
let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
19-95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and
make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
19-95:6 O come,
let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
19-100:3 Know ye
that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people,
and the sheep of his pasture.
19-103:10 He hath not
dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
19-103:12 As far as
the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions
from us.
19-106:47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and
to triumph in thy praise.
19-108:11 Wilt not
thou, O God, who hast cast us off?
and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?
19-108:12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of
man.
19-115:1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us,
but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.
19-115:12 The LORD
hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will
bless the house of Aaron.
19-117:2 For his
merciful kindness is great toward us: and the
truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
19-118:27 God is the
LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the
sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
19-119:4 Thou hast
commanded us to keep thy precepts
diligently.
19-122:1 I was glad
when they said unto me, Let us go into the house
of the LORD.
19-123:2 Behold, as
the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as
the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon
the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
19-123:3 Have mercy
upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
19-124:2 If it
had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
19-124:3 Then they
had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was
kindled against us:
19-124:4 Then the
waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone
over our soul:
19-124:6 Blessed be
the LORD, who hath not given us as a
prey to their teeth.
19-126:3 The LORD
hath done great things for us; whereof we
are glad.
19-136:23 Who
remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth
for ever:
19-136:24 And hath
redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth
for ever.
19-137:3 For there
they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth,
saying, Sing us one of the songs
of Zion.
19-137:8 O daughter
of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth
thee as thou hast served us.
20-1:11 If they say, Come with
us, let us lay
wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the
innocent without cause:
20-1:12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as
those that go down into the pit:
20-1:14 Cast in
thy lot among us; let us
all have one purse:
20-7:18 Come, let
us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
21-1:10 Is there any thing
whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old
time, which was before us.
21-12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God,
and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
22-2:15 Take us
the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender
grapes.
22-5:9 What is
thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women?
what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so
charge us?
22-7:11 Come, my
beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages.
22-7:12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender
grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my
loves.
23-1:9 Except the LORD of hosts had left
unto us a very small remnant, we should have been
as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
23-1:18 Come now,
and let us reason together, saith the LORD:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be
red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
23-2:3 And many
people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go
up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will
teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his
paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from
Jerusalem.
23-2:5 O house
of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light
of the LORD.
23-4:1 And in
that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own
bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be
called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
23-6:8 Also I
heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
23-7:6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us,
and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:
23-8:10 Take
counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not
stand: for God is with us.
23-9:6 For unto
us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
23-14:8 Yea, the
fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since
thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.
23-14:10 All they
shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become
like unto us?
23-17:14 And behold
at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is
the portion of them that spoil us, and the
lot of them that rob us.
23-22:13 And behold
joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking
wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we
shall die.
23-25:9 And it
shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him,
and he will save us: this is the LORD; we
have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
23-26:12 LORD, thou
wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast
wrought all our works in us.
23-26:13 O LORD our
God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of
thy name.
23-28:15 Because ye
have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at
agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come
unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and
under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
23-29:15 Woe unto
them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in
the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who
knoweth us?
23-30:10 Which say
to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us
smooth things, prophesy deceits:
23-30:11 Get you
out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to
cease from before us.
23-32:15 Until the
spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the
wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
23-33:2 O LORD,
be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be
thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
23-33:14 The
sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who
among us shall dwell with the devouring fire?
who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
23-33:21 But there
the glorious LORD will be unto us a place
of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars,
neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
23-33:22 For the
LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our
king; he will save us.
23-36:11 Then said
Eliakim and Shebna and Joah unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, unto thy
servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it; and speak not to us in the Jews’ language, in the ears of the people
that are on the wall.
23-36:15 Neither
let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the hand of
the king of Assyria.
23-36:18 Beware lest
Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us.
Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the
king of Assyria?
23-37:20 Now
therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his
hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the
LORD, even thou only.
23-41:1 Keep
silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength:
let them come near; then let them speak: let us
come near together to judgment.
23-41:22 Let them
bring them forth, and shew us what shall
happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may
consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
